Franchisee onboarding: product questions with retrieval

Review retrieval for product questions in Franchisee onboarding. Check document scope, failure paths and source evidence through controlled tests.

What the documents look like

For product questions in Franchisee onboarding, this page examines FastGPT retrieval. Compare the material received with the sources used in the answer. The examples are hypothetical.

Constraints at the retrieval step

A new franchise-training SOP test states, “The demonstration drink uses a sample cup; the service container is listed in the opening-materials list.” A question about the demonstration cup and one about the customer’s container need different sources. Inspect candidates for the two roles, then compare modes with the full question. The SOP states a demonstration use, without specifying the actual service cup. Shared reference to a drink does not make both questions equivalent.

Associated knowledge basesKnowledge bases associated with one search node must use the same embedding model.
Search modeSemantic, full-text and hybrid modes are available.
Citation limitCitation limits are measured in tokens.
Minimum relevanceRange 0–1; active for semantic search or reranking.
Question optimizationResolves references and expands questions.

Three common errors

A proposed attendance note says a patterned cup was demonstrated. Using that statement to establish the sales container substitutes training wording for the materials list. Retain the original and returned source together. Also inspect citation token limits for omission of the reference to a separately listed service container, which can leave only a cup description. Preserve demonstration and service-source roles rather than selecting the earlier-ranked passage as one unified configuration. A third error expands demonstrated in the attendance note into learners having mastered normal preparation. Inspect actual assessment or operating records to distinguish a demonstration event from verified ability. A displayed cup and attendance do not establish that learning outcome.

How to verify the setup

Without the opening-materials list, the actual container specification needs a supplementary source. A pattern on a sample cup cannot provide capacity or material. For a follow-up about its service use, inspect whether optimization preserves the intended role without expanding a display item into sale contents. After obtaining the list, repeat the question and trace new citations, separating source updates from retrieval-setting changes. Check minimum relevance only where it applies; relevant training text does not establish complete service-material evidence.
