What the documents look like
For product questions in Franchisee onboarding, this page examines FastGPT hybrid retrieval. Compare the material received with the sources used in the answer. The examples are hypothetical.
Constraints at the hybrid retrieval step
The franchise-training product example lists a special coffee with coffee beans, milk and syrup in the proposed SOP attachment. Candidates should keep the drink name with that ingredient list before reranking a complete product question. This checks the manual’s wording without inferring an unsupplied recipe ratio, nutritional claim or effect. If preparation steps also enter candidates, inspect whether their length displaces the requested ingredient passage, retaining a citation to the corresponding manual.
Configuration and implementation checks
| Item or implementation check | Input or applicable condition | Traceable check |
|---|---|---|
| Fused candidates | Special coffee with beans, milk and syrup | Associate ingredients with the specified drink. |
| Complete question | Seasonal SOP wording versus regular supply in an attendance note | Preserve the distinct roles of rule and note. |
| Minimum relevance | Inspect the parameter during semantic search or reranking | Ranking cannot establish the currently applicable version. |
| Citation token limit | Complete ingredient or supply-restriction wording | Preparation steps should not displace requested ingredients. |
| Missing-source retest | No selection or target-customer evidence for the new product | Training records cannot supply its audience position. |
Documented conditions
| Documented item / implementation check | Condition |
|---|---|
Hybrid retrieval | Vector and full-text results use RRF fusion. |
| Reranking | Reranking reorders candidates using the full question. |
Minimum relevance | Filtering applies to semantic search or reranking. |
Citation limit | Citation content is limited by tokens. |
Question optimization | Compare subjects and restrictions after optimization. |
Three common errors
“Seasonal edition” in the SOP and “regular supply” in an attendance-sheet note have different source roles. Confirm that both were recalled, then inspect the product, period and version to which they refer. A note matching the question more closely cannot automatically change the SOP scope, and wording alone does not establish actual operating arrangements. Record whether reranking and citation trimming preserve both qualifications for the subsequent source review. Keep the attendance note’s supply statement separate from the SOP rule until their relationship is checked. A document appearing newer still needs version evidence. Neither retrieval order nor its filename establishes which wording currently applies to this particular product and period.
How to verify the setup
The new item lacks detailed selection parameters and target-customer information. A training record’s existence does not supply that evidence. Inspect whether an audience answer borrows another drink’s description, then add the corresponding new-product material and repeat the question. Record new candidates, retention after reranking and traceable final citations separately. Check minimum relevance only where it applies; a related passage’s high score does not establish a confirmed audience position.
