What the documents look like
Cross-border independent-site payment risk work centers on card network disputes and receiving accounts. Order fulfillment status supplies only part of the background. The working material set is drawn from Stripe or PayPal backends, Shopify orders, carrier proof of delivery, and customer service email. These documents update daily or per order, so a single dispute can accumulate several versions before submission.
For product material and selection questions, citation tracing means each factual statement in an answer must return to a specific document and version. A retrieved passage is not an authorization, and it is not a finding of dispute fact. The material set for this category typically includes payment chargeback notices, suspected fraudulent order lists, invoices, and logistics proof-of-delivery records. The most time-consuming steps are identifying high-risk orders, preparing chargeback evidence, and tracking frozen funds. Citation tracing sits inside the answer-drafting step, where a proposed sentence about a dispute must be checked against the exact document fields that support or fail to support it.
Constraints at the citation tracing step
The knowledge base search node can associate one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model. Its output is a citation array, and the length can be zero, meaning the downstream chain still runs even when nothing is retrieved. The citation upper limit is measured in tokens. The minimum relevance threshold applies only under semantic retrieval or result reranking. Hybrid retrieval merges results through RRF. Reranking requires a model and must be enabled by configuration. These are retrieval behaviors. They do not carry permission or entity isolation.
A hypothetical drill sample follows. It is labeled as hypothetical and does not describe any real record or completed action.
Hypothetical material one: a chargeback notice dated 12 March 2025, card network dispute number A-4471, merchant order S-2098, dispute reason "goods not received," evidence due by 26 March 2025.
Hypothetical material two: a carrier delivery record for order S-2098, signed on 5 March 2025 at 14:20, with the recipient field left blank.
Hypothetical draft sentence to be judged: "This store has submitted complete proof of delivery, and the dispute is resolved."
The draft sentence states "has submitted" and "is resolved." Neither material records a submission action or a resolution outcome. The blank recipient field is a missing value; it does not constitute a denial of delivery. The correct judgment is not supported, and a submission receipt or resolution conclusion must be added.
Configuration and implementation checks
The table below lists documented settings and implementation checks tied to this page's sample. The numeric values are hypothetical starting points for this drill, not official defaults.
| Configuration or check item | Hypothetical starting point for this drill | Reason and comparison object |
|---|---|---|
| Associated knowledge bases | Select only dispute material libraries sharing the same vector model | The document requires the same vector model before joint association; verify the identifier first and exclude non-matching libraries |
| Search mode | Hybrid retrieval | Dispute number A-4471 is an exact identifier, and full-text recall supplements semantic recall |
| Citation upper limit | Hypothetical starting point of 2000 tokens | Compare against the actual combined length of the chargeback notice and delivery record; trim when exceeded |
| Minimum relevance | Hypothetical starting point of 0.5 | Compare against the rerank score; results below this value are filtered |
| Result reranking | Enable when a model is available | Secondary ordering when candidates are numerous; the score is used for filtering |
| Citation output handoff | Pass the citation array item by item to the answer step | Check answer sentences against cited source text; an empty array still runs the downstream chain |
Three common errors
- Treating a retrieval hit as an established dispute fact. Input the draft sentence and the two materials, compare the sentence's "has submitted" and "is resolved" against the actual material fields, and note that the materials contain no submission receipt and no resolution conclusion. The judgment should be recorded as not supported.
- Treating the minimum relevance value as a permission filter. Input a cross-merchant query, compare the returned records against the current authorization scope, and observe that a relevance score does not exclude unauthorized records. A separate business verification is required.
- Treating an empty citation array as a workflow failure. Input the paper output [], compare whether the downstream design still executes, and note that the document states the length can be zero and the chain runs through. Do not assert an error.
How to verify the setup
- Input hypothetical materials one and two together with the draft sentence, compare the sentence's factual statements against the material fields, and confirm that the judgment holds only when the materials record a submission receipt and a resolution conclusion. The expected result for this drill is not supported.
- Input hypothetical dispute number A-4471, compare whether the returned citations contain the original text of that number, and observe whether a corresponding passage appears. When it does not appear, record the gap. Do not guarantee a first-position hit or full recall.
- Input the paper citation array [], compare whether the downstream answer step is still triggered, and confirm that the condition is satisfied only when the design document states an empty array can be carried forward. Do not claim that a fictional rule retrieval necessarily returns an empty array.
