Creator commission settlement: document chunking for product questions

Review document chunking for product questions in Creator commission settlement. Check input mappings, source evidence and failure handling before use.

What the documents look like

In creator commission settlement and deduction, the core materials appear after a transaction closes. The Selected Alliance backend provides commission setting records. Order after-sales data forms refund and commission deduction details. The finance system generates settlement statements. Creator contracts constrain the settlement cycle and the basis for commission deduction. Together these four material types determine whether a commission should be settled and how much should be deducted.

Materials update weekly and monthly, in step with the settlement cycle. Document parsing and chunking handles these periodically archived statements, detail lines and invoices. Chunk quality directly affects whether later selection questions can locate a specific clause or detail line.

A commission setting record carries a ratio, an effective period and an applicable product scope as one semantic unit. Split apart, a lone ratio segment cannot show which object it constrains. A refund and commission deduction detail line likewise needs its order number, refund amount and deducted commission amount kept together. Document identity and version that allow tracing back to the source must survive chunking.

Original data and retrieval indexes are separate. One group of original data can map to multiple indexes. Indexes serve recall; original data supplies returned content. After a material changes, the actual training and index state needs checking. A successful upload does not mean retrieval has updated.

Retrieval locates content. It does not perform authorization judgment. A similarity score does not distinguish creator, period or permission scope, and a recalled result cannot be treated as a basis for settlement or deduction.

Constraints at the document chunking step

Chunking sits between raw settlement material and product selection questions. Several constraints follow from the material structure.

The ratio, effective period and applicable product range in a commission setting record belong to one semantic unit. A chunk that keeps only the ratio loses the object it constrains. The order number, refund amount and deducted commission amount in a refund detail line need the same grouping. Invoice material links to a settlement statement through its stated identifiers, so those identifiers need to remain readable after parsing.

Original data and retrieval indexes need separate treatment. One group of original data may correspond to multiple indexes. When a commission setting record changes, the question is whether the new ratio is actually indexed, not whether a file was uploaded. Training and index state are the objects to check.

Retrieval is not authorization. A high similarity score does not filter by creator, settlement period or permission boundary. Recalled content cannot be read as approved settlement or confirmed deduction.

Hypothetical paper exercise

Material text for comparison (hypothetical, not a real record):

"Creator A, June 2025 commission setting record: product number A-001, commission ratio 8%, effective period 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2025."

"Creator A, June 2025 settlement statement: product number A-001, transaction amount 10,000 yuan, refund amount 2,000 yuan, settled commission 640 yuan."

Draft sentence to be judged: "For product A-001 in June 2025, Creator A's commission should be settled at 8% of the 10,000 yuan transaction amount, that is 800 yuan."

The material text gives the ratio, the effective period and the settled amount. It does not state a deduction formula. The draft sentence computes on the full transaction amount, which disagrees with the refund amount and the settled amount in the statement. The draft sentence is unsupported by the supplied text.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration itemHypothetical starting point for this exerciseNote and comparison method
Search modeHybrid retrievalCommission ratios and product numbers are exact queries; natural-language wording is a semantic query. Both need coverage.
Reference limit3000 tokensHypothetical starting point to hold statement and detail content in one segment; compare against actual single-segment length and adjust.
Minimum relevance0.4Hypothetical starting point, effective only in semantic retrieval or with reranking; compare recalled content across different values.
Question optimizationEnabledCompletes references in follow-up questions about settlement basis; compare recalled content with it disabled.
Result rerankingEnabled per settingSecondary ordering when candidates are many; compare ordering with reranking off.
Segment reviewManual reviewCheck whether ratio, period and product scope remain in one segment.

The values in the table are hypothetical starting points for this exercise, not official defaults. RRF is the result fusion process in hybrid retrieval and is not configured as a separate switch.

Three common errors

  1. Splitting the commission ratio from the applicable product scope into different segments. Input is the source text containing the ratio and product number. Compare whether each resulting segment can still identify the constrained object. Observable result: one segment holds only the ratio and no applicable object.
  2. Treating a similarity score as a permission or entity filter. Input is a question from Creator A. Compare whether recalled content mixes in material from other creators. Observable result: content with a high score that does not belong to that creator is returned.
  3. Treating a successful upload as retrieval having updated. Input is the changed commission setting record. Compare whether retrieval still returns the old ratio. Observable result: old and new content coexist, or the old content is still recalled.

How to verify the setup

  1. Segment completeness check. Input the source text from the hypothetical exercise where the ratio, period and product number appear. Compare whether each parsed segment retains all three items. Observable result: any segment that appears alone cannot identify the constrained object, which means re-chunking is needed.
  2. Term and number retrieval check. Input "A-001" and "refund commission deduction". Compare whether returned content falls in the corresponding statement and detail segments. Observable result: the number matches while the natural-language question does not, which points to checking the search mode setting.
  3. Post-update state check. Input the changed commission setting record. Compare whether retrieval returns the new ratio or the old ratio. Observable result: the old ratio is still returned, so the training and index state is recorded as pending verification and not judged as updated.

An empty-result check can use the explicit paper input [] to inspect downstream design. It does not claim that a fictional rule retrieval returns an empty array. Libraries across different vector models cannot be associated together. Check identifiers first, exclude non-matching ones, and record the actual observation.

This page covers only creator commission settlement and deduction / product material and selection questions / document parsing and chunking. Operational handover states for materials, actions and requests, and their authorization status, cannot be treated as authorization execution through retrieval or a form.
