B2B marketplaces: conversation logs for after-sales questions

Review conversation logs for after-sales questions in B2B marketplaces. Check document scope, failure paths and source evidence through controlled tests.

What the documents look like

B2B marketplace matching produces enterprise certification materials, inquiry and quotation sheets, electronic contracts, and platform settlement statements. These four document families carry the main evidence for order fulfilment and after-sales question handling. Compared with stall-based wholesale market trading, this category involves more online certification and more electronic contracts, and the transaction does not depend on a physical stall. Conversation records therefore carry part of the process-trail function.

Routine data arrives from the B2B platform, the national enterprise credit information publicity system, payment flows, and logistics traces. Update frequency is daily or per order. The consequence for this page is narrow: a conversation log has to be checkable against those documents on subject, object, and status, and the existence of a log does not by itself complete a business audit.

Constraints at the conversation logs step

The conversation interface identifies a conversation under one application by chatId, and identifies a conversation turn under that conversation by dataId. When a non-empty chatId is passed, the system takes the conversation from the database, uses the last element of the messages array as the user question, and ignores the remaining messages. When responseChatItemId is passed, that value becomes the response message ID for this turn and is stored in the database; it must be unique under the current chatId. The detail field controls whether intermediate values are returned, and in non-stream mode the result is held in responseData. The actual returned content of these fields has to be checked item by item. Business data that is not returned cannot be assumed to have been retained in full.

Hypothetical drill sample: a B2B platform operations staff member handles an after-sales inquiry on a matched order on 10 June 2025. The source text available for checking consists of three sentences. "The enterprise certification materials submitted by Supplier A show a unified social credit code ending in 1234, and the certification status is pending review." "The inquiry and quotation sheet from Buyer B states a purchase quantity of 200 units, with the quotation valid until 30 June 2025." "The electronic contract between the two parties is in signed status, and the platform settlement statement has not yet been generated." The handover request to be judged is: "Please confirm whether this order's conversation log can serve as audit evidence that Supplier A's subject qualification has passed." The authorization boundary for this request is that the conversation log reflects only conversation content and run records, and whether enterprise certification has passed must be confirmed separately through the certification review process.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration or check itemSetting relevant to this pageBasis and explanation
appId and chatIdBoth supplied in the request; chatId must be unique and shorter than 250 charactersThe document states that a non-empty chatId uses the database conversation
responseChatItemIdThe starting value for this hypothetical trial is set to "order-20250610-001"This value is chosen to correspond to the order date and to distinguish it from other turns under the same chatId; the document requires uniqueness under the current chatId
detailSet to true when run details are neededThe document states that responseData holds intermediate values
messages and variablesPassed separately for conversation input or plugin inputThe document states that variables replace [key] in input box content
Conversation list sourceUse source=api when checking API-created conversationsThe document states that this value does not retrieve conversations from the page
Authorization status checkMark certification review, contract signing, and settlement generation as separate statusesThe conversation log does not carry the completion judgment for those business actions

Three common errors

  1. Treating a description of certification materials appearing in the conversation log as certification having passed. The input is the first sentence of the source text above, the comparison object is the certification status field value "pending review", and the observable result is that this status does not match a "passed" determination.
  2. Treating the quotation validity period on the inquiry and quotation sheet as the contract performance period. The input is the second sentence of the source text, the comparison object is the electronic contract's signed status and the settlement statement's generation status, and the observable result is that the quotation validity period and the contract status belong to different fields of different documents.
  3. Treating the hypothetical starting value of responseChatItemId as an official default. The input is that hypothetical value, the comparison object is the document's statement that no default value is given for this field, and the observable result is that the document defines no default value.

How to verify the setup

  1. Use the first sentence of the source text together with the handover request. The input is the certification status "pending review", the comparison object is the determination condition for "passed", and the condition is satisfied when the two are confirmed inconsistent and the need for separate confirmation through certification review is recorded.
  2. Use the second and third sentences of the source text. The input is the quotation validity period and the contract's signed status, the comparison object is whether the settlement statement has been generated, and the condition is satisfied when the settlement statement's not-yet-generated state is confirmed as an independent status.
  3. Use the hypothetical starting value "order-20250610-001". The input is that value, the comparison object is the document's uniqueness requirement for responseChatItemId, and the condition is satisfied when the value is confirmed not to duplicate another turn under the current chatId and the document is confirmed to declare no default for it.
