Amazon FBA preparation: HTTP integrations for after-sales questions

Review HTTP integrations for after-sales questions in Amazon FBA preparation. Check sources, input boundaries, error handling and repeatable test evidence.

What the documents look like

Amazon FBA preparation moves inventory into platform warehouses, so the operating risk sits with inbound receiving and inventory age. The working materials are the FBA inbound plan, carton labels, inventory reports and compensation claims. These come from Amazon Seller Central, FBA inventory reports, freight forwarder tracking and ERP purchase orders, and they refresh daily or weekly. Order fulfilment and after-sales question handling therefore has to reconcile the same batch, the same inbound plan and the same time window across several documents at once.

The HTTP integration step takes fields from those materials and sends them to an external service through a request URL, a request method, Params, Headers, a Body and variable references, then reads values back from the response. Documented system variables are appId, chatId, responseChatItemId, variables, cTime and histories, where histories takes at most 10 entries by default and that length cannot be changed. chatId and responseChatItemId do not exist in test mode, so an empty value during debugging is documented behaviour rather than a business fault. The chat interface ignores model, temperature and similar parameters, because the orchestration decides those. With detail=true the module status and full result appear in responseData, and token values must be calculated manually.

Constraints at the HTTP integrations step

An inbound plan, a carton label, an inventory report and a compensation claim each carry their own subject, object, stage and quantity scope. The HTTP module sends a request and parses a response; a field value returned by an interface does not by itself equal a business authorisation. Retrieval and similarity affect content matching only, and they carry no permission or entity isolation. A pending confirmation is not a confirmation, an offered option is not an execution, and an unsigned termination is not a completed termination.

Hypothetical drill sample: on 10 March 2025 an operator at a cross-border seller compiles one FBA inbound plan. The material text reads "Inbound plan number PLAN-0310, destination warehouse is an operations centre in the western United States, planned inbound quantity 600 units, carton label version V2, status awaiting freight forwarder confirmation." On the same day the operator drafts one handover request: "Please synchronise the carton label V2 of PLAN-0310 together with the inventory report discrepancy to the external after-sales system, and automatically confirm the compensation claim." In this request the inbound plan sits at the awaiting-confirmation stage, carton label V2 has no freight forwarder receipt, the inventory report discrepancy carries no specific quantity, and the compensation claim has not been submitted. Against this text, awaiting confirmation is not a confirmation, not submitted is not accepted, and a synchronisation request is not an execution.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration itemHypothetical starting point for this drillReason and comparison method
Request URLReference the external service address held in a global variableThe address follows the external interface document; compare the address actually sent with the documented address
Request methodSelect POST according to the external interface contractCompare the method with the external document declaration rather than inferring from habit
ParamsComplete each entry as the external interface requiresCompare key names with the external parameter table; record a missing entry as not provided
HeadersInject Authorization according to the authentication specificationCompare whether the request header carries the credential; credentials are not written into public samples
BodyBuild JSON according to the external interface contractCompare field types with the example; a string reference requires double quotation marks
Return value parsingExtract the required key by JSON pathCompare the extracted result with the response text; record a miss as not obtained

These values are the hypothetical starting point for this drill and are not official defaults. Variable references may come from global variables, system variables and upstream node outputs, and each value actually passed in is checked item by item.

Three common errors

  1. Treating an awaiting-confirmation status as confirmed. In the sample PLAN-0310 carries the status awaiting freight forwarder confirmation; if a draft sentence states that carton label V2 is confirmed, the input is the status field in the material text, the comparison object is awaiting freight forwarder confirmation, and the observable result is a mismatch between the two.
  2. Treating a synchronisation request as executed. In the sample the handover request reads "Please synchronise ... to the external after-sales system"; if the output states that synchronisation has completed, the input is the request text, the comparison object is the request wording, and the observable result is that the request carries no execution receipt.
  3. Treating an unsubmitted compensation claim as accepted. In the sample the compensation claim has not been submitted; if the output states that the compensation claim has been accepted, the input is the material text, the comparison object is the not-submitted state, and the observable result is that no acceptance record corresponds to it.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the sample text "Inbound plan number PLAN-0310, status awaiting freight forwarder confirmation"; compare whether the draft sentence contains a confirmed expression; the result passes when the draft sentence matches the status field in the source text, and is recorded as unsupported when a confirmed expression appears.
  2. Input the handover request text "Please synchronise the carton label V2 of PLAN-0310 together with the inventory report discrepancy to the external after-sales system"; compare whether the output declares synchronisation complete; the result passes when the output keeps the request wording, and is recorded as awaiting verification when it declares synchronisation complete.
  3. Input the material text "compensation claim not submitted"; compare whether the output contains an accepted conclusion; the result passes when the output contains no acceptance conclusion, and is recorded as an evidence gap when an acceptance conclusion appears.

All three checks address the HTTP integrations step of order fulfilment and after-sales question handling. The objects examined are the draft sentence and the handover request, and the checks do not extend to identity certification, report analysis or any other task. Where a field is not stated, or only related-stage evidence exists, the outcome is recorded as unsupported or awaiting verification, and the evidence gap is preserved.
