Franchise fee settlement: citation tracing for after-sales questions

Review citation tracing for after-sales questions in Franchise fee settlement. Check input mappings, source evidence and failure handling before use.

What the documents look like

Franchise fee and deposit settlement deals with funds and breach deductions. It does not carry out government franchise filing duties. The working materials are franchise fee invoices, deposit ledgers, deduction notices, and contractual payment schedules. These records come from finance systems, franchise agreements, bank statements, and store violation records. The update rhythm is monthly or per deduction event.

For citation tracing during order fulfilment and after-sales question handling, this means every answer has to point to a specific material and version. Three text families appear together: contract clauses, ledger entries, and deduction reasons. A question about a deduction can require the payment schedule clause, the ledger status field, and the notice's confirmation requirement at the same time. A retrieval hit is not authorization. It does not mean a deduction, refund, or invoice issuance has been executed.

Constraints at the citation tracing step

The knowledge base search node can associate one or more knowledge bases that use the same vector model. It outputs a citation array, and the length may be zero. That output goes to the answer stage, where each cited item is checked against the source text. The retrieval result does not grant permission and does not represent that any downstream business action has occurred.

Hypothetical paper exercise sample (paper materials, not real records):

Material one, franchise agreement payment schedule clause: "Party A shall pay the current month's franchise fee by the fifth day of each month. Overdue amounts incur a penalty of five ten-thousandths per day."

Material two, deposit ledger entry: "March 2025 deduction notice number K-0312, reason is store display violation, amount eight hundred yuan, status pending review."

Material three, deduction notice: "This deduction is based on Article 7 of Appendix 3 of the contract. Please confirm within three working days of receipt."

Draft sentence to be assessed: "The eight hundred yuan deduction has been executed, and the deposit ledger balance has been reduced accordingly."

Assessment point: Material two shows status pending review. Material three requires confirmation within three working days. Neither shows that the deduction is complete or that the ledger balance has changed. The draft sentence turns a pending-review status into an executed action. Evidence of completion for the same subject, same period, and same field is absent.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration itemHypothetical trial starting pointReason and comparison method
Associated knowledge basesSelect knowledge bases that already contain franchise agreements, deposit ledgers, and deduction noticesCheck whether the vector model identifier is the same across bases; exclude those that differ
Search modeHybrid searchNumber and amount queries rely on full-text hits; clause semantics rely on vector recall
Citation limitHypothetical trial starting point set to two thousand tokensCompare against the length of one deduction notice plus contract clauses; observe whether citations are complete
Minimum relevanceHypothetical trial starting point set to zero point threeCompare against whether cited content includes the pending-review status sentence; too high a value can drop the status sentence
Question optimizationEnabledComplete the referent of "this deduction" in follow-up turns; compare recalled content with the disabled state
Result rerankEnabledCompare ordering with the non-reranked state; confirm whether the status-field sentence ranks near the top

These values are hypothetical trial starting points for this page. They are not official defaults. Each is compared against a concrete counterpart: vector model identifiers across bases, the length of the source notice, the presence of the status sentence, and the ordering of the status sentence.

Three common errors

  1. Treating the pending-review status in material two as an executed deduction. Check: input the material two text and compare whether the draft sentence contains "has been executed." If it does, the draft is unsupported by the cited record.
  2. Treating "confirm within three working days" in material three as a completed confirmation. Check: input the material three text and compare whether a confirmation receipt or status-change record exists. If it is absent, record the evidence gap rather than a completed confirmation.
  3. Treating a retrieval hit as an authorization basis. Check: input the draft sentence and compare whether the answer claims deduction authority or a ledger write. If it does, the answer exceeds the retrieval role.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the material one payment schedule clause text. Compare whether the answer cites "by the fifth day of each month" and "five ten-thousandths per day." Observe whether the cited content matches the source wording. Expected: the source wording is cited. Not tested.
  2. Input the material two ledger entry text. Compare whether the answer preserves the "pending review" status. Observe whether "has been executed" appears. Expected: pending review is preserved. Not tested.
  3. Input the material three deduction notice text. Compare whether the answer describes "confirm within three working days" as an open item. Observe whether it is presented as completed. Expected: open item. Not tested.

For empty-result handling, a paper input with an empty citation array can be used to check the downstream design. This does not claim that a fictional rule search will necessarily return an empty array. Knowledge bases that use different vector models cannot be associated together. Check the identifier first and exclude those that do not match. Do not run a cross-model retrieval to compare missed recalls.

The documented overall retrieval flow lists optional paths that are not executed on every request. Image retrieval requires a corresponding image input and model capability. Rerank requires a rerank model and must be enabled by configuration. The relevance score is a filtering threshold, not a category, entity, or permission filter. It does not exclude unrelated businesses or unauthorized records. Business verification, approval, database writes, and external synchronization require their own downstream implementation.
