After-sales repairs and reships: HTTP integrations for after-sales questions

Review HTTP integrations for after-sales questions in After-sales repairs and reships. Check inputs, failure paths and source evidence before use.

What the documents look like

Repair and reship work aims to restore a product to use, and it does not close through a direct refund the way a refund-only dispute does. The records for this category come from the after-sales system, the order system, repair outlets, and the spare-parts warehouse WMS. The documents handled day to day include repair requests, reship orders, inspection reports, and spare-parts outbound orders. These materials update per order and daily, so an HTTP call has to check the current state of a specific order rather than treat an earlier document as a currently valid basis. A repair request can sit at a pending-inspection stage while no outbound record exists at the spare-parts warehouse, and the two facts belong to different systems that must be reconciled before any external request is sent.

Constraints at the HTTP integrations step

The HTTP module sends a request to the configured address. Params carry path request parameters and are used more often with GET requests. Body carries the request body and is used more often with POST and PUT requests. Headers carry request headers for special information. All three can reference variables through {{}}, and the URL can also reference variables. Variables come from global variables, system variables, and preceding node outputs. The documented system variables are appId, chatId, responseChatItemId, variables, cTime, and histories; histories defaults to a maximum of 10 entries and its length cannot be changed. chatId and responseChatItemId do not exist in test mode.

Return values are not the interface response itself. They configure how the interface response is parsed, using JSON path syntax to extract values. When the output type is set to string, the value of the corresponding key is converted into a JSON string. The chat interface uses APIKey authentication, and when calling chat/completions it is recommended to pass body.appId in the request body. The model, temperature, and similar parameters passed in are invalid, because these fields are determined by the orchestration. The interface does not return the actual consumed Token value; setting detail=true and manually calculating the tokens in responseData is the documented path. When an interactive node is returned, the interactive object given to the external caller contains only type and params; internal runtime fields such as entryNodeIds, memoryEdges, nodeOutputs, and nodeResponseId are not returned.

Hypothetical paper exercise sample: on 10 March 2026 a brand after-sales system receives repair request WX-0310-07. The requesting party is a user who purchased a certain robot vacuum model, and the reported fault is that the side brush does not turn. The after-sales system status field shows “pending inspection,” and the spare-parts warehouse WMS has no corresponding outbound order for the part. A drafted handover request reads: “Please send a reship outbound request directly to the spare-parts warehouse WMS, and handle the part model as a common side brush.” This request attaches no inspection report and states no authorization scope.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration itemAssumed trial starting pointHow to check
Request addressFill in per the external interface document; the URL can reference variablesCompare character by character against the interface document
Request methodSelect per the external interface documentCompare against the method declared in the document
Headers authenticationAuthorization uses Bearer plus a credential variableCheck that the credential is injected by security configuration and not written into public samples
Body structureUsed only under the corresponding request type; JSON keys match the external contractCompare request body fields key by key
Variable referencesReference global variables, system variables, and preceding node outputsCheck each actual passed value item by item
Return value extractionConfigure the key per JSON pathUse a known response to check the extracted result

Reason for the starting point: the sample sits at “pending inspection” and the spare-parts warehouse WMS has no outbound order. The reship outbound request therefore lacks an inspection report and an authorization basis. Configuration work has to check material completeness first, then decide whether to issue the call.

Three common errors

  1. Treating the after-sales system status “pending inspection” as a basis for immediate reship. Input is the repair request in the sample and the drafted request. Compare the status field against the prerequisites for reship, and observe whether the inspection report and the authorization scope are both missing. When they are missing, the matter stays pending verification.
  2. Treating the absence of chatId in test mode as a business fault. Input is a call record made in test mode. Compare against the documented system variables, and observe whether chatId and responseChatItemId are empty. An empty value is a normal condition of test mode.
  3. Treating the interactive object returned by an interactive node as an internal runtime field. Input is an interactive node response. Compare against the documented return scope, and observe whether entryNodeIds, memoryEdges, and similar fields appear. Their appearance does not match the document.

How to verify the setup

  1. Take the sample text as input. Compare the drafted request against the repair request and the spare-parts warehouse WMS record, and observe whether an inspection report and an authorization scope are both present. When both are missing, record the matter as unsupported and do not issue the reship outbound request.
  2. Take the “pending inspection” status in the sample as input. Compare the after-sales system status field against the prerequisites for reship, and observe whether the status meets the reship requirement. When it does not, keep the evidence gap and do not fabricate authorization clauses.
  3. Take the test-mode call record as input. Compare against the documented system variables, and observe whether chatId and responseChatItemId are empty. When they are empty, read this as a test-mode condition per the document and do not judge it as a business fault.

All three verification steps use the hypothetical sample above, and the expected results are paper comparisons only; nothing was executed. Retrieval and forms do not constitute authorization. Business verification, approval, database writes, and external synchronization require their own downstream implementation.
