What the documents look like
Site selection and store opening for a chain headquarters take place before the store begins trading. The core work is lease negotiation and engineering delivery. The documents handled day to day are the site evaluation form, the lease intention letter, the decoration budget and the opening schedule. These materials are maintained by headquarters expansion staff, regional development staff and engineering managers on an irregular, per-store rhythm.
Copy drafting for goods and marketing needs to cite the floor area, rent, delivery milestones and store-type descriptions recorded in those materials. Every checkable sentence in the draft therefore has to trace back to the wording of the corresponding material. This page addresses one task only: drafting goods and marketing copy for chain-store site selection, and tracing the cited sources behind that copy. Whether a specific promotional sentence is supported by the materials is the question here; this page does not turn into an identity-certification tutorial.
Two features of the category shape the work. First, the materials are per-store and updated irregularly, so a draft may cite a version that has since been revised. Second, the lease intention letter records intended terms, not completed facts such as payment or handover. Copy that reads an intention as a completed event moves beyond what the source states.
Constraints at the citation tracing step
The knowledge base search node can select one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model, and it outputs cited content as an array whose length may be 0. When nothing is found, that output branch still completes. The minimum relevance value is a 0-1 filter threshold that applies only under semantic search or when result reranking is used. It does not perform permission, entity or business-scope isolation. A retrieval action does not itself constitute authorization; whether copy may be used externally still depends on human review of the valid version.
Hybrid search merges multiple result paths through RRF. Reranking requires a rerank model and must be enabled according to the configuration. Image retrieval requires corresponding image input and model capability. These optional paths do not mean every request executes all of them. Knowledge bases built on different vector models cannot be associated together; check the identifier and exclude those that do not match, without inferring runtime results from that exclusion.
Hypothetical paper exercise sample: the source materials read as follows. "The site evaluation form for this store states that the proposed leased unit has a gross floor area of 120 square meters and is located on the second floor of a community commercial center. The lease intention letter states that the deposit is two months' rent and the delivery condition is bare shell. The decoration budget states an engineering period of 45 calendar days, and the opening schedule is tentatively set for June 1." One draft sentence to be assessed is: "This store is 120 square meters, located on the second floor of a community commercial center, and can open 45 days after delivery. Early inquiries are welcome."
Configuration and implementation checks
| Configuration or check item | Value or practice on this page | Relation to the sample |
|---|---|---|
| Associated knowledge bases | Select one or more knowledge bases sharing the same vector model | The site evaluation form, lease intention letter, decoration budget and opening schedule can be associated together only under the same vector model |
| Search mode | Semantic search, full-text search or hybrid search | Precise fields such as area and dates are more easily matched to source wording through full-text or hybrid search |
| Minimum relevance | Hypothetical trial starting value 0.3 for this exercise | Chosen to reduce unrelated fragments, compared against recall counts when no threshold is set |
| Citation limit | Measured in tokens; hypothetical trial starting value 2000 for this exercise | Intended to hold source wording from several materials, compared against citation completeness at 1000 tokens |
| Result reranking | Enabled according to configuration when a rerank model is available | Secondary ordering of text results when candidates are numerous; the score can be used for filtering |
| Citation output handoff | Check whether the search output array is passed to the answering step | Compare answer sentences against source wording one by one |
Three common errors
- Treating minimum relevance as a permission or entity filter. Input a query unrelated to the site selection materials, compare its returned content against the authorized scope, and observe whether citations appear from outside the selected knowledge bases. The relevance setting does not change the accessible range.
- Treating the intention letter's status as an effective fact. The input is "the lease intention letter states the deposit is two months' rent," and the draft sentence reads "the deposit has been paid." Compare the intention letter's wording with the draft sentence: the letter states intended terms, the payment fact is not recorded, and the sentence is unsupported.
- Treating a tentative schedule as a confirmed delivery. The input is "the opening schedule is tentatively set for June 1," and the draft sentence reads "opening on June 1." Compare the schedule wording with the draft sentence: tentative does not equal a confirmed date, and the item remains to be verified.
How to verify the setup
- Input the hypothetical source wording and the draft sentence "This store is 120 square meters, located on the second floor of a community commercial center." Compare the area and floor fields against the site evaluation form. The condition is met when the same field carries the same value; a different area or floor does not meet it.
- Input the draft sentence "can open 45 days after delivery." Compare the decoration budget's 45 calendar day engineering period against the opening schedule's tentative June 1 date. The engineering period and the tentative schedule belong to different fields, so only the engineering period can be confirmed; the opening date remains to be verified.
- Input a paper empty result []. Compare whether the downstream answering step continues through the empty citation. The condition is met when the output branch completes and no unsourced statement is produced; if the downstream invents an area or a date, it is not met. All of the above are paper checks; no retrieval or deployment has been performed.
