Dealer ordering events: citation tracing for document comparison

Review citation tracing for document comparison in Dealer ordering events. Check sources, input boundaries, error handling and repeatable test evidence.

What the documents look like

Brand dealer ordering events support offline dealer reservations rather than platform storefront operations. The working materials come from the ordering event system, historical sales, dealer inventory, and financial credit records. The recurring documents are the ordering handbook, the ordering contract, the sample list, and the credit approval. These materials update by quarter or by year, and that cadence matters here only because a citation must point to the version that was actually in force when the comparison is made.

For contract and transaction material comparison, the source text that a draft sentence must be checked against is spread across these documents. Subject, object, quantity, status, and validity range have to be confirmed document by document. A credit approval that sits at a pending stage is not the same fact as an approved credit line, and an ordering contract that states a quantity does not by itself state that credit was granted.

Constraints at the citation tracing step

Contract and transaction material comparison requires that an answer can be traced back to specific source text. The knowledge base search node outputs citations as an array, and the length of that array can be zero. An empty array means no content was retrieved; the output path still completes, so downstream handling must accept an empty result rather than treat it as an authorization or a failure.

The retrieval scope is checked first against the selected knowledge bases and the material versions. Only knowledge bases that share the same vector model can be associated together. Semantic retrieval and the minimum relevance score affect similarity filtering only; they do not perform authorization or entity isolation. A relevance score is not a category, entity, or permission filter, and retrieval is not authorization.

Hypothetical paper exercise sample: a brand channel department holds one ordering contract with this text: "Party A: East China regional dealer consortium; Party B: brand channel department; order object: 2025 spring series sample list item 3; quantity: 1200 units; validity range: March 1, 2025 to March 31, 2025." A separate credit approval text reads: "Credit subject: East China regional dealer consortium; credit status is pending review; credit amount: not stated." The draft sentence to be judged is: "This dealer consortium has received credit approval and may place orders for 1200 units." In comparison, the contract text supports only the quantity and the validity period, and the credit approval text shows only a pending review. The phrase "has received credit approval" in the draft sentence is not supported.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration here concerns the document comparison task on this page and lists settings that the official material describes, or implementation checks that must be confirmed.

Configuration itemSetting or checkRelation to these documents
Associated knowledge basesSelect the knowledge bases holding the ordering contract and the credit approval; verify material versionsOnly knowledge bases sharing the same vector model can be associated
Search modeSemantic retrieval, full-text retrieval, or hybrid retrievalContract numbers and sample list numbers suit full-text retrieval
Citation limitMaximum tokens of content cited per searchControls the length of contract source text returned to the model
Minimum relevanceA 0-1 value, effective under semantic retrieval or rerankingFilters low-relevance results; does not isolate authorization
Result rerankingRequires a ReRank model and must be enabled per settingsReorders contract source text when candidates are numerous
Citation content outputArray format, length may be zeroDownstream must handle the case of no retrieved content

Hypothetical trial starting point: set the minimum relevance to 0.5 because the contract source text and the question keywords overlap to a moderate degree in this exercise, and compare it against 0.3 and 0.7 to observe changes in the number of returned items. This value is only a paper trial starting point for this exercise and is not an official default.

Three common errors

  1. Treating a credit approval that is "pending review" as "credit approval granted." The input is the credit approval source text; the comparison object is the credit status field in the draft sentence; the observable result is that the two status field values do not match, and the draft sentence is not supported.
  2. Treating retrieval output as authorization execution. The input is the contract citation array returned by the knowledge base search; the comparison object is whether downstream directly triggers an order placement; the observable result is that the search node itself does not execute approval or write to a database, and the authorization action requires a separately connected system implementation.
  3. Associating knowledge bases that use different vector models and then inferring missed retrieval. The input is the identifiers of two knowledge bases with different vector models; the comparison object is whether the shared association condition is met; the observable result is that the association is excluded when the condition is not met, and no cross-model retrieval is performed.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the contract source text and the draft sentence from the hypothetical sample; compare "has received credit approval" in the draft sentence against "pending review" in the credit approval source text; the observable result is that the draft sentence is not supported, and the evidence gap must be recorded.
  2. Input the contract source text from the hypothetical sample; compare the contract quantity of 1200 units against sample list item 3; the observable result is that the field is supported when quantity and object match, and if the sample list does not state a quantity, the field remains unsupported.
  3. Input an empty citation array []; compare whether the downstream answer step accepts it; the observable result is that downstream does not error and does not treat the empty array as an approval. No claim is made that a fictional rule search will necessarily return [].

This page addresses only the brand dealer ordering event, contract and transaction material comparison, and citation tracing. Whether materials, operations, or requests are in an authorized state during operational handover cannot be settled by treating retrieval or a form as authorization execution.
