Douyin storefront operations: document chunking for procurement

Review document chunking for procurement in Douyin storefront operations. Check document scope, failure paths and source evidence through controlled tests.

What the documents look like

Douyin storefront shelf operations center on product cards and store experience scores. Day-to-day materials include product qualification pages, experience score breakdowns, shipping violation appeals, and store announcements. Inventory procurement and supplier materials form one group within this set: supplier qualification files, purchase confirmation records, supply status statements, and authorization scope statements. These materials update daily or per order, and originate from the Douyin store workbench, the Douyin e-commerce learning center, Selected Alliance data, and logistics interfaces.

The structures differ noticeably. A qualification page carries an entity name, a certificate number, and a validity period. A purchase record carries a product, a quantity, a date, and a status. A supply statement carries a committed scope and conditions for taking effect. Parsing and chunking must preserve the correspondence between these fields and the content they constrain. Chunks that are too coarse mix unrelated fields together; chunks that are too fine split conditions away from the conclusions they govern.

Constraints at the document chunking step

A FastGPT knowledge base has three layers: library, collection, and data. The smallest search unit is the library; collections serve only as classification management. Vector storage uses the PostgresSQL PG Vector plugin with an HNSW index. The MongoDB dataset.datas table stores source data, and its indexes field records the corresponding vector IDs, so one data group can map to multiple vectors. During retrieval, vectors are recalled first, then the vector IDs are used to find source data in MongoDB; entries mapping to the same source data are merged and the highest score is taken. Multi-vector mapping balances content length against semantic richness.

The retrieval scheme combines question optimization, semantic retrieval, full-text retrieval or hybrid retrieval, RRF fusion, ReRank secondary ordering, and finally similarity filtering and reference-limit trimming. The reference limit is measured in tokens. The minimum relevance value takes effect only under semantic retrieval or result reranking; it is a filtering threshold and does not perform permission or entity isolation. Libraries built on different vector models cannot be associated together; identifiers must be checked first and non-matching libraries excluded. Image retrieval requires image input and the corresponding model capability, and reranking requires a model that is enabled according to configuration.

Configuration and implementation checks

The following is a hypothetical drill sample used to illustrate the checking method. It does not represent a real record or an executed test.

Hypothetical drill sample: a supplier qualification page reads, in three sentences: "Entity name: Xinghai Household Goods Trading Firm. Unified social credit code: 91330100MA2XXXXX7B. The supply scope listed on this page covers kitchen cleaning products; the validity period is pending verification, and no signing date appears." A separate purchase confirmation record reads: "Product: kitchen cleaner; quantity: 200 cases; order date: March 10, 2025; status is pending supplier confirmation." The draft sentence to be judged: "Xinghai Household Goods Trading Firm has confirmed the supply of 200 cases of kitchen cleaner."

Check itemRelevant setting or check on this pageCorrespondence with the hypothetical sample
Chunk boundarySplit by material structure, keeping conditions in the same chunk as the content they constrainEntity, code, and supply scope stay in one chunk on the qualification page
Multi-vector mappingOne data group can map to multiple vectors; accuracy improves through annotationThe purchase record can index product and status separately
Reference limitA reference limit measured in tokensThe hypothetical starting value is set low here to make trimming behavior observable
Minimum relevanceA filtering threshold effective only under semantic retrieval or rerankingThe hypothetical starting value is set mid-range and compared against other values
Retrieval modeSemantic, full-text, or hybrid retrieval may be selectedIdentifier-type fields suit full-text or hybrid retrieval
Post-update reviewA successful upload does not mean retrieval has updated; training and index state must be checkedAfter a qualification page change, the actual index must be reviewed

Three common errors

  1. Treating a successful upload as an updated retrieval index. Input: an upload record for a new qualification page version. Compare the upload time against the content returned by retrieval. When the returned content still shows the old fields, the index has not updated.
  2. Treating "pending supplier confirmation" as confirmed supply. Input: the purchase confirmation record showing "status is pending supplier confirmation." Compare this against the draft sentence "has confirmed the supply of 200 cases." When the status fields disagree, the draft sentence is unsupported.
  3. Treating minimum relevance as a permission filter. Input: the minimum relevance setting value. Compare this setting against access control configuration. When the setting contains no entity or permission field, the value does not perform permission isolation.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the qualification page text from the hypothetical sample together with the draft sentence "Xinghai Household Goods Trading Firm has confirmed the supply of 200 cases of kitchen cleaner." Compare the confirmation fact stated in the draft against "status is pending supplier confirmation" in the source. When the source names neither a confirming entity nor a confirmation date, the draft sentence is unsupported and the evidence gap is recorded.
  2. Input the purchase confirmation record text from the hypothetical sample. Compare whether "order date: March 10, 2025" and "status is pending supplier confirmation" belong to the same field. When the date and the status occupy different fields, the date is not used as evidence of a confirmation time.
  3. Input the qualification page phrase "the validity period is pending verification, and no signing date appears." Compare this wording against any inference about authorization taking effect. When the source states neither a validity period nor a signing date, the matter remains pending verification, and no authorization or effective clause is supplied. For the empty-result case, a paper input of [] may be used to check downstream design, without claiming that a fictional rule search necessarily returns [].

This feature addresses one scope only: Douyin storefront shelf operations, inventory procurement and supplier materials, document parsing and chunking. During operational handover, which materials, actions, or requests sit at which authorization stage cannot be treated as authorized execution through retrieval or a form.
