What the documents look like
On a Shopify standalone store, the merchant configures payment, shipping, and fulfillment services directly. Returns are not handled by a single platform-wide automatic process. This difference shapes how the four document types in scope here — order details, shipping rate templates, shipping labels, and refund records — are checked one order at a time during store service and internal training. The supplied material gives an update frequency of per order and daily. This page does not derive batch synchronization, full synchronization, or real-time trigger mechanisms from that frequency.
Typical operators include standalone-store merchants, Shopify operations staff, and third-party fulfillment providers. The stated consequences of error are payment disputes, logistics complaints, and inventory overselling. Within the interactive forms step, the object of checking is the degree of consistency between source material text and a proposed sentence or handover request. Retrieval results and form submission do not themselves constitute authorization.
Constraints at the interactive forms step
The Form Input node is a user-interaction node. When it triggers, the conversation enters an interaction state, the workflow state is recorded, and execution waits until the user completes the interaction before continuing. The node collects the information the user fills in and passes it to subsequent nodes. It does not carry built-in business database functions; field validation, business approval, write-back, and batch operations are implemented in external systems or later nodes as needed.
The User Selection node is also a user-interaction node. When it triggers, the conversation enters an interaction state. When the user makes a selection, the node evaluates that selection and executes the "yes" branch. Neither node's documentation states a submission-count limit, automatic judgment, or snapshot guarantee, and this page does not add corresponding control switches.
Hypothetical paper exercise sample: the source material text reads "Order number SY-0001, shipping label status is purchased, refund record status is pending review, shipping rate template applicable region is the United States, carrier system return time is March 1, 2024." The proposed sentence reads "This order has completed the refund and has synchronized fulfillment status." The subject of the proposed sentence is order SY-0001, the objects are refund and fulfillment status, the status field is pending review, and the effective scope is March 1, 2024. Pending review does not equal approved. A purchased shipping label does not indicate the carrier has picked up the parcel. The proposed sentence lacks evidence of refund completion and fulfillment synchronization, so it is judged unsupported.
Configuration and implementation checks
Configuration below centers on the sample above and lists only officially documented settings and implementation check items. The values are starting points for this hypothetical exercise; the reason for choosing them is to make missing items and completed items distinguishable on paper, and the comparison object is the corresponding field in the sample source material.
| Configuration item | Hypothetical exercise starting point | Check method |
|---|---|---|
| Form Input required fields | Order number, refund record status | Observe whether interaction waits when order number is missing |
| User Selection branch | Yes branch corresponds to completed material | Observe whether execution continues downward after selection |
| Interaction state recording | Workflow state recorded after trigger | Observe whether the dialogue box is hidden during the wait |
| Downstream node division | Field validation placed in a later node | Check whether the form writes directly to a business database |
| Empty-result handling | Paper input [] | Check how the downstream design handles an empty result |
The "yes branch" in the table refers to the branch described in the User Selection node documentation and does not indicate business approval. Empty-result handling uses an explicit paper input [] to check the downstream design and does not claim that a fictional rule retrieval necessarily returns [].
Three common errors
- Treating a pending-review refund record as a completed refund. In the sample, the refund record status is pending review, while the proposed sentence says "has completed the refund." Same subject, same field, different values. Input is the sample source text; comparison object is the proposed sentence; observable result is that the proposed sentence is unsupported.
- Treating a purchased shipping label as carrier pickup. The sample states only that the shipping label status is purchased and does not state a pickup time. Input is the sample source text; comparison object is the proposed sentence "has synchronized fulfillment status"; observable result is that this assertion lacks evidence.
- Treating form submission as authorized business execution. The Form Input node collects information and passes it to later nodes and does not carry built-in business database functions. Input is the form submission action; comparison object is the refund or fulfillment write-back action; observable result is that write-back requires separate system implementation.
How to verify the setup
- Input the sample source text and the proposed sentence "This order has completed the refund and has synchronized fulfillment status." Compare the refund record status field "pending review" with "completed." Observable result: the proposed sentence is not supported by the sample source text, and the evidence gap must be recorded.
- Input the sample source text. Compare the shipping label status "purchased" with the proposed sentence "has synchronized fulfillment status." Observable result: neither carrier pickup nor fulfillment synchronization is stated, so the judgment is pending verification.
- Input the paper empty result []. Compare how the downstream node handles an empty result. Observable result: whether the downstream has an explicit empty-result handling path; if not configured, record it as a gap. Retrieval and form submission do not constitute authorization. Libraries across different vector models cannot be jointly associated; verify identifiers first and exclude non-conforming items.
