Temu semi-managed sellers: retrieval for operating reviews

Review retrieval for operating reviews in Temu semi-managed sellers. Check document scope, failure paths and source evidence through controlled tests.

What the documents look like

Semi-managed sellers on Temu maintain overseas inventory and ship orders themselves, rather than supplying goods to the platform for fulfillment. Operating reviews for this category therefore depend on materials that describe declared goods, overseas stock, declared prices and platform fulfillment orders. These materials arrive at daily and per-order frequency, and a review has to align them by the same operating entity, the same period and the same field before any conclusion can be drawn.

The retrieval step only returns candidate content from materials already stored in a knowledge base. Authorization status, approval conclusions and business actions sit outside retrieval. A retrieved clause reflects the content at the moment it was indexed, and it does not replace the current ledger for the period under review.

Constraints at the retrieval step

The knowledge base search node can associate one or more knowledge bases that use the same vector model. Knowledge bases using different vector models cannot be associated together. The vector model identifier of each candidate knowledge base is checked first, non-matching bases are excluded, and the actual observation is recorded. No cross-model retrieval is performed to compare recall behavior.

Semantic retrieval, full-text retrieval and hybrid retrieval serve different inputs. Content such as identifiers and model numbers is suited to full-text or hybrid retrieval. The minimum relevance value takes effect only under semantic retrieval or when result reranking is used. It is a filter threshold and does not carry permission or entity isolation. The citation limit is measured in tokens. Hybrid retrieval merges multiple result paths through RRF, and RRF is a fusion process rather than a switch that can be turned on. Image retrieval requires image input and the corresponding model capability. Reranking requires a model and is enabled according to settings. Citation content is output as an array whose length can be 0, and the downstream path still runs when no content is retrieved.

Hypothetical drill sample: a semi-managed seller's operations staff prepares March 2025 operating review materials. The three source sentences available for checking are: "The goods declaration form A-2025-03 states the entity is Xingqiao Trading, the declaration period is March 2025, and the declaration status is submitted." "The overseas inventory table INV-2025-03 states the entity is Xingqiao Trading, the statistics period is March 2025, and the inventory status is confirmed." "The price declaration PR-2025-03 states the entity is Xingqiao Trading, the effective period is March 2025, and the review status is pending review." The draft sentence to be judged is: "Xingqiao Trading's March 2025 price declaration has been approved." This sentence does not match the review status field in the third source sentence and is judged unsupported.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration itemHypothetical starting point for this drillReason and comparison object
Associated knowledge baseAssociate only one knowledge base that uses the same vector modelCheck the vector model identifier first and compare it with the identifier of the base to be associated
Search modeHybrid retrievalCompare retrieved content against semantic retrieval and full-text retrieval separately
Citation limitHypothetical starting point of 3000 tokens for this drillCompare declaration forms and inventory tables of different lengths to see whether content stays complete
Minimum relevanceHypothetical starting point of 0.4 for this drillLabel relevant and irrelevant samples first, then compare against adjacent values
Question optimizationEnabledCompare the original question with the optimized question and check whether the entity was altered
Result rerankingEnabled according to settingsCompare candidate order before and after reranking and observe score changes

These values are hypothetical starting points for this drill and are not official default values. The configurable fields actually available are those of the node parameters. Manual checking actions are recorded separately from business actions that require a downstream system implementation.

Three common errors

  1. Reading a pending review status as approved. The input is the source text of price declaration PR-2025-03. The review status field is compared with the wording of the draft sentence, and the draft sentence does not hold when the two differ.
  2. Associating knowledge bases that use different vector models. The input is the vector model identifiers of two knowledge bases. The two identifiers are compared, and when they differ the base is excluded and the exclusion recorded, with no cross-model retrieval performed.
  3. Treating the unit of the citation limit as a count of items. The input is the citation limit setting and the token length of the actually retrieved content. The unit is compared against token, and misreading the unit leads to truncated or over-limit content.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the three source sentences of the hypothetical sample and the draft sentence. Compare the draft sentence with the review status field of the price declaration source text. The draft sentence is supported only when the two agree; in this comparison the result is unsupported.
  2. Input the vector model identifiers of two knowledge bases. Compare whether the identifiers are the same. When they differ, exclude that base, record the reason for exclusion, and do not infer runtime outcomes such as missed recall or redundancy from this comparison.
  3. Input an explicit paper empty result []. Check whether the downstream path continues to run with a citation content length of 0, and do not claim that a fictional rule retrieval necessarily returns an empty array.

Retrieval and recall do not constitute authorization, approval or database writes. Forms collect values, and business verification, approval, writes and external synchronization require their stated downstream implementation. Fields that are not stated, or for which only stage-related evidence exists, are recorded as unsupported or pending verification, and evidence gaps remain gaps.
