Pinduoduo seller campaigns: database operations for operating reviews

Review database operations for operating reviews in Pinduoduo seller campaigns. Check input mappings, source evidence and failure handling before use.

What the documents look like

Pinduoduo low-price campaign store operations revolve around low-price resource slots, campaign inventory, and refund-rate fluctuation. The working documents are campaign registration forms, product cost calculation sheets, after-sales refund orders, and platform site messages. Operating reports and exception reviews need to align fields across these documents to the same subject, the same period, and the same field before judging whether campaign-price gross margin, abnormal refunds, or inventory gaps actually hold. Data sources are the Pinduoduo merchant backend, campaign resource-slot data, ERP inventory, and logistics signed-receipt data. The update rhythm is daily or per campaign.

A common situation is that the same product carries different statuses in different documents. A campaign registration form may record registration while an after-sales refund order records a refund; these two do not contradict each other unless the same field shows mutually exclusive values. A registration form records that a registration action was submitted. It does not show that the campaign took effect. A refund reason does not by itself establish that the refund rate is abnormal. A site message about a stockout penalty and a conclusion about loss are different fields and cannot be derived from each other.

Constraints at the database operations step

The database operations step separates business source-data storage from the vector retrieval backend. MONGODBURI points to the main business MongoDB, and MONGODBLOGURI points to the log MongoDB; when MONGODBLOGURI is not configured it reuses the main database. Vector stores can be PGURL, OCEANBASEURL, SEEKDBURL, MILVUSADDRESS, or OPENGAUSSURL, and the corresponding service is checked against the actual deployment. The connection pool is controlled by DBMAXLINK, automatically limited to 10–1000. SYNC_INDEX controls whether missing indexes are created at startup and explicitly declared deprecated indexes are cleaned; when it is off, indexes must be maintained separately.

Backup and recovery are verified as two separate facts: backup generation and actual recovery. Keep samples and records that can be checked. After a database or service configuration change, re-examine the same business samples rather than relying only on process liveness. Retrieval and forms do not constitute authorization to execute. A pending review state does not by itself show that an operation permission is missing. Vector retrieval association is limited to the same vector model; libraries on different vector models cannot be jointly associated, so identifiers are checked first and non-matching records are excluded.

Hypothetical paper exercise sample: on 10 June 2025 a campaign registration form records that Product A registered for a low-price resource slot, with campaign inventory of 500 units and a campaign price of 9.9 yuan. On the same date a product cost calculation sheet records Product A cost of 8.5 yuan and logistics cost of 1.2 yuan. On 12 June 2025 an after-sales refund order records 30 units of Product A refunded, with the refund reason written as "quality issue." On 12 June 2025 a platform site message notifies that Product A was penalized for stockout. Draft sentence to be judged: "Product A lost money in this campaign and its refund rate was abnormal." This sentence involves two fields, campaign-price gross margin and refund rate, and each must be checked against the cost sheet and the refund order separately; the single sentence cannot decide either.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration itemHypothetical starting value for this exerciseChecking method
DBMAXLINK10Deploy at the documented value, observe connection count and errors; do not copy untested concurrency thresholds
SYNC_INDEXtrueAt startup create missing indexes and clean explicitly declared deprecated indexes; when off, maintain separately
MONGODB_URIlocal example addressCheck the main business database connection; do not infer the actual address from the name
MONGODBLOGURIsame example address as the main databaseWhen unset it reuses the main database; when set, check the log database connection
REDIS_URLredis://default:mypassword@localhost:6379Check the cache connection and replace it according to the actual deployment
STORAGE_VENDORminioCheck the object storage type; options are minio, aws-s3, r2, cos, oss

These starting values are the initial points for this hypothetical exercise. The reason for choosing them is that the official document lists them as defaults or examples. The comparison method is to check connections, errors, and elapsed time against the same business samples before and after a change. The numbers are not official recommendations or production standards.

Three common errors

  1. Treating the "registered" status in the campaign registration form as the campaign already being in effect. Input is the registration form text; the comparison object is the campaign resource-slot data or platform site messages; the observable result is whether an effective or penalty record exists. The registration form only records the registration action and does not by itself show the campaign was executed.
  2. Treating the refund reason "quality issue" in the after-sales refund order as the refund rate being abnormal. Input is the refund order text; the comparison object is the refund quantity and campaign inventory for the same product in the same period; the observable result is whether the refund quantity exceeds a checkable range. The refund reason does not by itself constitute a basis for judging the refund rate abnormal.
  3. Treating the stockout penalty notice in the platform site message as a loss conclusion. Input is the site message text; the comparison object is the cost and campaign price in the product cost calculation sheet; the observable result is whether the campaign price is below the total cost. The penalty notice and the loss are different fields and cannot be derived from each other.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the campaign registration form text and the product cost calculation sheet text from the hypothetical sample. Compare the campaign price of 9.9 yuan with the total cost of 9.7 yuan. The observable result is that the campaign price is above the total cost, so the draft sentence "lost money" is not supported. If the campaign price were below the total cost, the loss would hold, and that comparison process would need to be recorded.
  2. Input the after-sales refund order text and the campaign inventory of 500 units from the hypothetical sample. Compare the 30 refunded units with the inventory quantity. The observable result is the proportion of refunded units to inventory; the draft sentence "refund rate was abnormal" still requires a separate abnormality criterion, and the current evidence does not state that criterion, so it remains to be verified.
  3. Input the platform site message text from the hypothetical sample. Compare the notified object with the identifier of Product A. The observable result is whether the notice points to the same product. If the identifiers match, the stockout penalty holds; if they do not match, the notice is unrelated to Product A. Retrieval or a form does not constitute authorized execution, and a pending review state does not show that an operation permission is missing.

Database operations checking uses the same business samples as the reference, and after a change the connections, errors, and elapsed time are re-examined. Backup and recovery are verified separately, with checkable records kept. The association scope of vector retrieval is limited to the same vector model; cross-model joint association is not possible, so identifiers are checked first and non-matching records are excluded. An empty result can be checked against downstream design using an explicit paper input, without claiming that a fictional-rule retrieval necessarily returns empty.
