What the documents look like
Short-video affiliate sales relies on long-lived content exposure and product-link conversion rather than live explanation. For operating reports and exception reviews, the evidence therefore arrives from several separate sources: the selected affiliate alliance, short-video playback data, product transaction data, and platform rules. The working documents include short-video scripts, attached-product lists, commission plans, and violation feedback. These materials update daily or weekly. The practical effect on this page is that review evidence is scattered across several documents, and a tool call node in an orchestration can connect scripts, product lists, commission plans, and violation feedback. The result returned by a tool call does not by itself constitute authorization or business confirmation.
Constraints at the tool calls step
A tool call node is composed of a tool introduction and tool parameters. The tool introduction tells the model what the tool does. For parameters, two key values are the parameter description and whether the parameter is required. A tool with no parameters is judged directly from its introduction. For a tool with parameters, when no parameter is required the model may call the tool even without a suitable parameter in context, and it may fabricate a parameter. When a required parameter is absent from context, the model may not call the tool, and a prompt can guide the user to supply the parameter. In advanced orchestration, available tools are connected to the tool call module; a connected tool can have its introduction edited so the call timing is more precise. The documentation recommends not adding too many tools at once and tuning with a small number first. A tool call termination node ends the current call, so no further tools are called and the AI is not asked to summarize tool results. A custom tool variable can extend variable input for nodes that are not treated as tool parameters or cannot be called as tools.
Hypothetical paper exercise: on 10 March 2026, an operator working on short-video affiliate sales receives, during an exception review, a source attached-product list containing two sentences: "Product A was added to the commission plan on 5 March 2026, and the commission rate follows the plan table" and "The violation feedback record shows that the title of Product A was flagged for modification on 7 March 2026." The same batch contains a pending handover request: "Please merge Product A's commission plan execution between 5 March and 7 March with the violation feedback, and produce an operating report exception review conclusion." The authorization boundary of this request is not stated in the materials, and the materials do not state that the request has been approved or executed. This exercise is a paper scenario and does not involve a real customer or a real identifier.
Configuration and implementation checks
The table below is tied to the hypothetical exercise above. It lists documented settings or implementation checks relevant to this feature and the primary task. The values are starting points for this hypothetical trial only, used to compare against dates or fields in the exercise materials; they are not official defaults.
| Configuration item | Hypothetical starting point for this trial | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| Tool introduction | State "used to merge commission plan and violation feedback materials" | Compare against the object and period in the pending request; check whether the introduction covers them |
| Whether tool parameters are required | Set the product identifier and the period as required parameters | If the period is missing from context, the model may not call the tool per the documentation; a person must supply it |
| Tool connection | Connect only the commission plan tool and the violation feedback tool | Per the documentation, tune with a small number of tools first and avoid adding too many at once |
| Tool call termination | Attach a termination node after the violation feedback tool | Check that no further tools are called and the AI is not asked to summarize |
| Custom tool variable | Fill in a parameter description for a node that cannot be called as a tool | Check whether the variable description matches the fields in the exercise; this is not a guarantee of execution |
Three common errors
- Writing a tool introduction as a general description without stating the input conditions and the cases where the tool should not be called. In the exercise, the pending request asks to merge commission plan and violation feedback. If the introduction does not cover the period and the object, the model may not call the tool or may fabricate a parameter. The input to check is the tool introduction text; the comparison is whether it contains the object and period from the exercise; the observable result is whether the introduction clearly covers them.
- Treating a missing required parameter as executable. In the exercise, if the period for Product A is absent from context, the model may not call the tool according to the documentation. The input to check is the required-parameter setting and the context; the comparison is whether a suitable parameter exists; the observable result is a gap that requires a person to supply the value.
- Treating a tool call termination node as though AI summarization still occurs. In the exercise, if a termination node is attached after the violation feedback tool, the documentation states that no further tools are called and the AI is not asked to summarize tool results. The input to check is the connection position of the termination node; the comparison is whether it sits at the end of the tool flow; the observable result is whether a subsequent summarization call still exists.
How to verify the setup
- Using the exercise sentences "Product A was added to the commission plan on 5 March 2026, and the commission rate follows the plan table" and "The violation feedback record shows that the title of Product A was flagged for modification on 7 March 2026," check the input as these two sentences plus the pending request. Compare whether the period 5 March to 7 March in the request has the same subject and the same field as the dates in the source text. Observe whether the same field shows mutually exclusive values. If the materials do not state the authorization status, record it as unsupported or pending verification; do not call it a negation or a conflict.
- For the tool call termination node, check the input as the node's connection position in the orchestration. Compare whether it is attached after the violation feedback tool. Observe whether no further tools are called and the AI is not asked to summarize. The expected result is that termination takes effect; this is not a claim that it was actually tested.
- For the authorization boundary of the pending request in the exercise, check the input as whether the materials state an approval or execution record. Compare the merge action described in the request with the status stated in the materials. Observe whether a pending review, pending approval, or unexecuted state appears. A pending review does not demonstrate a lack of operating permission, a quotation validity period does not indicate a supply period, and a missing item is recorded as an evidence gap.
