What the documents look like
For cross-border product compliance and labeling, the core evidence is created before a product is listed and before import. The work centers on product safety and label evidence rather than on payment risk. The main data sources are platform policy centers, testing laboratory reports, destination-country regulation libraries, and supplier materials. The documents handled day to day are product test reports, English labels, MSDS files, and platform prohibited-item lists. These materials are uploaded and updated irregularly, and each new product launch produces a new document combination.
For operating reports and exception review, the state of a material matters more than its quantity. A test report that is pending review and one that has completed review lead to different downstream actions. A tool-call node reads document content and parameters from the context. A document being present in a knowledge base does not by itself complete a compliance determination.
Constraints at the tool calls step
Tool calls let the model decide from context semantics whether to call a given tool. The tool description tells the model what the tool is for. Within tool parameters, the parameter description and the required flag affect whether the model initiates a call. Parameters of system modules are already fixed; parameters of plugins are configurable items. When a suitable required parameter is absent, the model may not call the tool, and prompt wording can guide the user to supply the parameter.
The tool call termination node ends the current call. It does not call other tools and does not call the AI to answer about the tool call result. The custom variable node extends the variable input of a tool. In advanced orchestration, connecting available tools to the tool call module separates tool input from ordinary input automatically, and the description can be edited. Adding too many tools at once is discouraged; a small set should be tuned first before further attempts.
Hypothetical drill sample
Material source text, for cross-checking and not a real record: "Supplier A submitted an English label draft on 10 March 2025 for a children's water bottle, marked for ages 3 and above. The draft status is pending review, and destination-country compliance confirmation has not been obtained. MSDS file number MSDS-2025-0310 has status uploaded, with no review conclusion recorded."
A handover request awaiting determination: "Please confirm that Supplier A's children's water bottle English label has passed compliance review, and mark it as ready for listing."
This request treats a pending-review status as a passed review and treats an uploaded MSDS as a review conclusion. The tool call node does not perform compliance review on its own; review requires a human step or a downstream system implementation.
Configuration and implementation checks
| Configuration item | Hypothetical trial starting point for this page | Cross-check method |
|---|---|---|
| Tool description | State input conditions and situations where the tool should not be called | Check whether the description covers the difference between pending review and passed |
| Tool parameters | Check plugin parameters item by item; system module parameters are already fixed | Confirm the parameter description and the required flag settings |
| Required parameter | Starting point assumes a material status field must be supplied | Observe whether the model initiates a call when that field is missing |
| Tool connection | Connect only a small number of tools relevant to this page's task | Check whether tool input and ordinary input are separated after connection |
| Tool call termination | Place the termination node after the compliance review tool | Confirm that no further tool or AI summary runs after termination |
The starting points in the table are used only for this paper cross-check. The reason for choosing them is to make a missing required parameter observable, compared against the existing tool description and parameter descriptions.
Three common errors
- Treating a pending-review status as a passed review. The input is the "pending review" label draft in the hypothetical sample; the comparison object is a determination of "passed compliance review"; the observable result is that the two status fields do not match.
- Treating an uploaded MSDS as a review conclusion. The input is MSDS-2025-0310 with status "uploaded, no review conclusion recorded"; the comparison object is a "review passed" conclusion field; the observable result is that this field is not stated.
- Treating tool call termination as completed business approval. The input is the termination node ending the current call; the comparison object is the authorization state of compliance review; the observable result is that termination only ends the call and produces no approval conclusion.
How to verify the setup
- Input the material source text and the handover request from the hypothetical sample. Compare "passed compliance review" in the request against the "pending review" status in the source text. The expected result is a status mismatch, and the request is not supported.
- Input the upload status of MSDS-2025-0310. Compare the "uploaded" field against a "review passed" field. The expected result is that no review conclusion is recorded, and the evidence gap must be logged.
- Input the configuration of the tool call termination node. Compare the behavior after termination against compliance review authorization. The expected result is that termination produces no review conclusion, and the authorization state still awaits a human step or downstream system implementation.
For empty-result handling, downstream design can be cross-checked with an explicit paper input of []. It cannot be claimed that a fictional rule retrieval necessarily returns []. Libraries across different vector models cannot be associated together; check identifiers first and exclude non-matching ones. Retrieval checks record actual observations and failure branches, without guaranteeing a first hit or full recall.
This page addresses only cross-border product compliance and labeling, operating reports and exception review, and tool calls and plugins. During operational handover, which materials, actions, and requests sit at which authorization state must be clear; retrieval or a form is not authorization execution.
