What the documents look like
Brand-run livestream rooms carry their own scripts, inventory, and after-sales handling, with host commissions playing a smaller role than in influencer sessions. Day-to-day materials for this category are livestream scripts, product explanation cards, shift schedules, and livestream reviews. Sources include Douyin E-commerce Compass, Juliang Qianchuan, livestream comments, and transaction details, refreshed per session or hourly.
In cross-border work, the same batch of materials often holds Chinese scripts alongside foreign-language explanation cards, and comments arrive in several languages at once. Retrieval therefore needs to match semantically similar content across languages. Semantic retrieval supports cross-language understanding, so a Chinese question can match an English knowledge point. This directly shapes how index content is organized by language. The refresh frequency of source materials does not change how the vector model and index are configured, and this page does not extend into that.
Constraints at the vector indexes step
Knowledge bases associated for one retrieval must use the same vector model. When selecting several knowledge bases, first check the actual model and input type, and exclude those whose model does not match. One original data block can be linked to multiple indexes, and index content is checked separately from the original text. Index content should be complete and focused, and retrieval coverage against index length needs to be weighed against samples. Image retrieval also depends on whether an image description or image vector was generated at ingestion time; uploading an image at query time is not a sufficient condition. Semantic recall and relevance scores do not carry permission or entity isolation. The same-vector-model requirement for associated knowledge bases does not extend to business registry sites or other external systems.
Hypothetical paper exercise sample: a brand livestream team prepares a cross-border explanation card. The original text reads: "The featured item this session is the A-type insulated cup, capacity 500 ml, material 304 stainless steel, intended for outdoor commuting. This item is third in the explanation order for this session, and inventory is subject to on-site actuals." A draft sentence awaiting judgment reads: "The A-type insulated cup has passed cross-border compliance review and can be listed for sale on all sites." This draft sentence concerns a subject, an object, and a status; the original text states neither a review conclusion nor a site scope.
Configuration and implementation checks
| Configuration item | Hypothetical starting point for this exercise | Reason and comparison method |
|---|---|---|
| Associated knowledge bases | Associate only the explanation-card base and script base that share one vector model | Check actual model identifiers first, exclude mismatches, then run retrieval |
| Index content | Split each explanation card into separate indexes by subject, object, and status | Compare sentence by sentence against the original, confirming the index introduces no conclusion absent from the original |
| Search mode | Semantic retrieval and full-text retrieval together, merged through RRF | Use the semantic side for multilingual semantic queries and the full-text side for models and numbers, then compare cited originals from both paths |
| Minimum relevance | Hypothetical starting value 0.4 for this exercise | Compare against cited originals for the same question set, observing whether low-relevance fragments are filtered |
| Citation cap | Hypothetical starting value 2000 tokens for this exercise | Compare against total returned citation length, observing whether truncation is triggered |
| Image index | Include only images for which an image description or image vector was generated | Check ingestion records; images without a generated index do not enter the image retrieval path |
RRF is a mixed-result fusion process and is not written as an on/off switch. Interaction waiting, record status, and hidden dialogs follow the documented explanation, and this page sets no corresponding control switch.
Three common errors
- Associating knowledge bases that use different vector models. The input is two bases with different model identifiers; the comparison is whether the model identifiers match; the observable result is that the association request is excluded or cannot be retrieved together. No runtime outcome such as missed recall is inferred.
- Using retrieval results to show that a compliance review was completed. The input is the draft sentence above and the explanation-card original; the comparison is whether the original states a review conclusion and site scope; the observable result is that the original states neither, so the draft sentence remains unsupported.
- Treating minimum relevance as a permission or entity filter. The input is a retrieval question spanning subjects; the comparison is whether returned citations still contain other subjects' content; the observable result is that relevance affects only ranking and filtering thresholds and does not perform isolation.
How to verify the setup
- Input the explanation-card original and the draft sentence above, and compare whether "has passed cross-border compliance review" and "all sites" in the draft sentence have corresponding fields in the original. The draft sentence meets the condition only when the original explicitly states a review conclusion and a site scope; the current sample is unsupported.
- Input one multilingual semantic question and compare cited originals from the semantic and full-text paths. The condition is met only when the two paths, after RRF fusion, return citations consistent with the question's meaning and traceable to the original. First-hit matching and full recall are not guaranteed.
- Input an explicit paper empty result [] and compare whether the downstream node still completes its output path. The condition is met only when the output path continues to execute with citation length 0. No claim is made that a given rule-based retrieval necessarily returns [].
This page addresses only brand-run livestream operations, cross-border materials and multilingual retrieval, and the vector model and index. During operational handover, which materials, actions, and requests sit at what authorization state cannot be treated as retrieval or a form performing authorization.
