What the documents look like
A brand-run livestream carries its own scripts, inventory, and after-sales work, and the brand does not rely mainly on creator commissions. The daily document set for this category is the livestream script, the product explainer card, the shift schedule, and the livestream retrospective. Data comes from the Douyin Shop Compass, Qianchuan, livestream comments, and transaction details. In cross-border material and multilingual retrieval, one product may have both a Chinese explainer card and a foreign-language explainer card, and citation tracing requires every citation in an answer to return to a specific document version. Retrospectives are produced per session and per hour, and material versions change as product sequencing and pricing are adjusted. A citation that points to an older explainer card removes the basis for script checking.
Constraints at the citation tracing step
The knowledge base search node outputs a citation array, and its length may be zero. When no content is found, that output path still completes, so an empty result does not mean the workflow has failed. Associated knowledge bases must use the same vector model; knowledge bases with different vector models cannot be associated together. During checking, first inspect the vector model identifier and exclude those that do not match. Do not run cross-model retrieval to compare recall differences. The minimum relevance score is a filter threshold and takes effect only under semantic retrieval or result re-ranking. It does not perform permission or entity isolation. Retrieval scope is determined by the selected knowledge bases, and retrieval itself does not constitute authorization.
Hypothetical paper exercise sample: a brand livestream team is organizing cross-border material. The source text is: "Product explainer card version A: this product is rated for 220V, sales region Southeast Asia, effective date March 1, 2025." "Product explainer card version B: this product is rated for 110V, sales region North America, effective date June 1, 2025." "Shift schedule is the evening session on June 10, 2025 is hosted by presenter Jia, who explains this product." A proposed draft sentence awaiting assessment is: "This product can use 220V in both Southeast Asia and North America." The objects of comparison are the explainer card source text above and the proposed sentence. The authorization boundary is limited to material checking and does not involve listing or publishing operations.
Configuration and implementation checks
| Configuration item | Hypothetical trial starting point | Reason for the choice and comparison method |
|---|---|---|
| Associated knowledge bases | Select the library holding explainer cards and the shift schedule | Check whether the vector model identifiers of each library match, and exclude those that do not |
| Search mode | Hybrid retrieval | Compare with semantic retrieval and full-text retrieval on how numbering and model designations are matched |
| Citation limit | Set to 800 tokens | Compare with 400 and 1200, and observe whether citations cover the key sentences of the explainer cards |
| Minimum relevance | Set to 0.4 | Compare with 0.2 and 0.6, and observe whether low-relevance fragments are filtered out |
| Result re-ranking | Enabled | Compare candidate ordering with the disabled state, and confirm the re-ranking model is available |
| Question optimization | Enabled | Compare retrieval results for multi-turn follow-up questions with the disabled state |
These values are hypothetical trial starting points and are not official defaults.
Three common errors
- Treating an empty citation array as a workflow failure. Input is a retrieval with no hits; compare the node output with the error state, and observe whether the output is an array of length zero while the path continues.
- Treating the minimum relevance score as a permission filter. Input is a retrieval request spanning sales regions; compare the returned citations with the knowledge base scope, and observe whether returned content remains limited to the selected knowledge bases while relevance does not exclude unauthorized records.
- Accepting the voltage conclusion in the proposed sentence directly. Input is the source text of explainer card version A and version B; compare the proposed sentence with the applicable voltage field of both versions, and observe whether the two versions hold mutually exclusive values while the proposed sentence is unsupported.
How to verify the setup
- Input the source text of explainer card version A and version B and the proposed sentence from the hypothetical sample; compare the voltage value in the proposed sentence with the corresponding field of both versions. The condition is met only when the proposed sentence matches both versions at once. The two versions hold mutually exclusive values, so the determination is unsupported.
- Input the shift schedule source text and a request asking about the sales region of this product; compare whether the returned citations point to the explainer cards. The condition is met only when the citations contain the explainer card source text and the sales region field can be checked. The shift schedule does not state a sales region, so that field remains to be verified.
- Input a retrieval request with no corresponding material; compare the node output with the downstream handling design. The condition is met only when the output is an array of length zero and downstream handles it on the empty-result branch. Do not claim that this retrieval necessarily returns an empty array.
