What the documents look like
B2B marketplace matching transactions rely on online certification and electronic contracts rather than physical stall visits. During an operations handover, four document families form the tracing basis: enterprise certification materials, inquiry and quotation sheets, electronic contracts, and platform settlement statements. These materials update daily or per order, so both sides of a handover must check the version and authorization state of each item.
The knowledge base search node retrieves citation content from selected knowledge bases. It does not perform permission judgment or business approval. Enterprise certification materials may show a submitted status while platform review is still pending. An electronic contract may remain unsigned. A settlement statement may cover a defined date range with a stated number of entries and a pending reconciliation status. These states belong to the materials themselves and are not changed by retrieval.
Constraints at the citation tracing step
The knowledge base search node can associate one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model. Its output is an array of citations, and the length may be zero. An empty array means no content was retrieved; the output path still runs, and this result does not establish that the workflow terminated with an error.
Minimum relevance applies only under semantic retrieval or result reranking. It is a filter threshold and does not perform entity isolation or permission filtering. Hybrid retrieval, image retrieval, and result reranking are optional paths that require corresponding model capabilities and must be enabled through their settings. The citation limit is measured in tokens and is unrelated to thinking budget.
A relevance score is not a category, entity, or permission filter. Retrieval is not authorization. Forms collect values; business verification, approval, database writes, and external synchronization require their stated downstream implementation.
Hypothetical drill sample: a B2B marketplace operations staff member hands over a supplier onboarding file. The source text reads: "Entity name: Jia Supply Chain Co., Ltd.; certification status: business license and account opening permit submitted, platform review in progress; electronic contract: unsigned; settlement statement: 12 entries from March 1 to March 31, 2025, reconciliation pending." The proposed handover request reads: "Mark the above supplier as certified and open matching quotation permissions." In this request, certification is under review, the electronic contract is unsigned, and the authorization boundary has not been established. The handover record must state the material version date and current status, and must not treat under review as certified.
Configuration and implementation checks
The following items relate only to this page's primary task. The values are hypothetical starting points for this drill, used for comparison and observation, and are not official defaults.
| Configuration or check item | Hypothetical starting point for this drill | Reason and comparison method |
|---|---|---|
| Associated knowledge bases | Select only knowledge bases sharing the same vector model as the sample | The documentation requires the same vector model for joint association; check identifiers first and exclude non-matching ones |
| Search mode | Hybrid retrieval | The sample contains entity names and status fields, so semantic and full-text recall can be used together |
| Citation limit | Hypothetically set to 2000 tokens | Limits the length of a single citation; compare with the sample material length and adjust |
| Minimum relevance | Hypothetically set to 0.5 | Applies only under semantic retrieval or reranking; observe the number of recalled items and coverage of the source text |
| Result reranking | Enabled according to settings | Requires a reranking model; compare ordering and source correspondence before and after reranking |
| Citation display check | Compare the answer against the source text item by item | Use the sample source text as the baseline; check entity, status, and dates for consistency |
Three common errors
- Treating a retrieval score or similarity as a permission filter. The input is the "under review" status in the sample; the comparison object is the authorization boundary; the observable result is that retrieval may still return the material while the authorization state remains unchanged.
- Treating an empty citation array as a workflow error. The input is a paper-based empty array; the comparison object is the downstream node design; the observable result is whether the downstream continues processing the empty result.
- Writing an under-review or unsigned state directly as certified. The input is the certification status and contract status in the sample source text; the comparison object is the proposed handover request; the observable result is that the request does not match the source text.
How to verify the setup
- Input the sample source text and the proposed handover request. Compare the certification status field with "certified" in the request. If the source text shows under review, the request does not hold and must be recorded as pending review.
- Input the sample source text and the citation display. Compare the entity name and settlement statement date range in the answer with the source text. If each item matches, citation tracing holds.
- Input a paper-based empty array. Compare whether the downstream node continues execution. If the downstream proceeds with the empty result, empty-citation handling works as designed; do not conclude that retrieval necessarily returns an empty result.
These checks describe expected observations rather than completed tests. Cross-model knowledge bases cannot be jointly associated; check identifiers first, exclude non-matching ones, and record actual observations. The optional paths listed in the overall retrieval flow do not all execute on every request: image retrieval requires corresponding image input and model capability, and reranking requires a model and must be enabled according to settings.
