What the documents look like
JD POP third-party store operations revolve around open platform dispute rules and warranty-period service documents. The recurring materials are product information sheets, shipping-time commitments, dispute handling forms, and warranty-period service records. Their data sources are the JD merchant backend, JD help center, JD open platform rules, and logistics tracking, with daily and per-order update frequency. Citation tracing for operations handover requires that each document's original text, version, and current authorization status be passed along together.
A document's state does not by itself constitute authorization. Retrieving a dispute handling form only shows that the form exists inside the retrieval scope. Whether the form already carries a handling conclusion, sits in pending review, or has been signed are separate facts. During handover, the subject, object, period, and fields must be checked item by item, and anything not stated remains an evidence gap.
Constraints at the citation tracing step
The knowledge base search node selects one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model; bases with different vector models cannot be associated together. The search output is an array of citations, and its length may be zero. An empty array does not mean the workflow has errored out or terminated. The minimum relevance value is a filter threshold and does not perform permission or entity isolation; a similarity score does not distinguish stores, dispute forms, or authorization states.
Hypothetical drill sample. Material text for comparison: Party A is a POP store operations group, and Party B is the incoming operations staff member. The handover scope states that "from March 1, 2025, routine maintenance of the product information sheet and the shipping-time commitment is performed by Party B." Dispute handling form JD-D-0317 currently shows "pending review" in its status field. Warranty-period service record JR-0317 shows "signed" in its status field. Draft sentence to be judged: "From March 1, 2025, Party B has obtained handling authority for dispute handling form JD-D-0317, and this form has been fully handled." Compared with the source text, the source only states the maintenance scope for the product information sheet and the shipping-time commitment, and does not bring the dispute handling form into the handover scope. JD-D-0317 is in pending review, and neither signing nor completion of handling is stated. The draft sentence is not supported.
Configuration and implementation checks
| Configuration item | Hypothetical starting point for this trial | Reason for the choice and comparison method |
|---|---|---|
| Associated knowledge bases | Select only bases whose vector model identifier matches | Check the vector model identifier base by base; exclude mismatched ones and do not run cross-model retrieval |
| Search mode | Hybrid retrieval | Compare recall differences against semantic retrieval and full-text retrieval for identifier-type and natural-language questions |
| Minimum relevance | 0.35 | Hypothetical starting point for this trial; effective only under semantic retrieval or result reranking; compare filtered counts against 0.5 |
| Citation limit | 2000 tokens | Hypothetical starting point for this trial; measured in tokens; compare citation content length and coverage against 1500 |
| Question optimization | Enabled | Compare recalled content for multi-turn follow-up questions against the disabled state, and record the change in elapsed time |
| Output handoff | Citation array passed to the answering step | Compare each answer item against the cited source text; check empty arrays against the downstream design |
Result reranking requires a rerank model and must be enabled in settings. Image retrieval requires image input and model capability. These paths are optional flows and do not mean every request executes all of them.
Three common errors
- Treating a retrieval hit as authorization. Input: the retrieval result for JD-D-0317. Comparison: the form's status field "pending review" against the draft sentence's "fully handled." Observable result: the status field does not support that wording. Pending review does not prove that handling authority is missing; it only shows that a handling conclusion is not stated.
- Forcing knowledge bases with different vector models into a shared association. Input: the vector model identifiers of two bases. Comparison: whether the two identifiers match. Observable result: a mismatch leads to exclusion, and recall content is not compared further. The runtime result of cross-model association is not described in the documents and remains unknown.
- Treating an empty citation array as an error. Input: an empty array returned by one search. Comparison: the downstream answering step's design. Observable result: the chain continues to run, and business handling actions require a separate system implementation.
How to verify the setup
- Input the two handover-scope sentences from the hypothetical sample and the draft sentence. Compare whether the handover object includes the dispute handling form and whether the status field reads as fully handled. Observable result: the draft sentence is not supported, and the evidence gap is recorded. Expected outcome is pending verification; not actually tested.
- Input the vector model identifiers of two knowledge bases. Compare whether the identifiers match. Observable result: mismatched bases are excluded and retrieval is not run. Expected outcome is that identifier checking is completed; not actually tested.
- Input a paper empty array [] and the downstream answering design. Compare whether the empty array is treated as an error. Observable result: the chain continues to run with no automatic business action. Expected outcome is that the handoff design can be checked; not actually tested.
