What the documents look like
Brand outlet discount operations exist to clear seasonal inventory. They do not maintain a new-arrival full-price image, and that purpose shapes every document that reaches a workflow routing step. The main data sources are ERP inventory age, POS sales, outlet mall campaigns, and historical discount rates, refreshed weekly or monthly. The working documents are discount approvals, slow-moving inventory lists, price tags, and gross margin calculation sheets.
For operations authority and handover management, these four document types carry different roles. A discount approval defines the authorization boundary for a price change. A slow-moving list defines the scope of SKUs selected for clearance. A price tag is an execution record. A gross margin calculation sheet gives the finance business partner a basis for checking. Workflow routing has to carry the interaction results of form input and user selection nodes into later nodes, and retrieval or form collection on its own does not constitute authorized execution. A pending request is not an approval, an offered option is not execution, and an unsigned termination is not a completed termination.
Constraints at the workflow routing step
The form input node is a user interaction node. When it is triggered, the conversation enters an interaction state, the workflow state is recorded, and execution continues after the user completes the interaction. The node collects the required information the user submits and passes it to later nodes. The user selection node is also a user interaction node. When the user makes a choice, the node evaluates that choice and executes the corresponding "yes" branch. The interaction state is recorded by the node itself; no separate global state-recording switch is documented, and none should be claimed.
Output handoff needs the collected information to be passed explicitly to later retrieval, judgment, or interface nodes, with output compared item by item against input. Order writes, document backfill, and external status synchronization require a separate business interface or a later process. Retrieval is not authorization, and a relevance score is not a category, entity, or permission filter.
Hypothetical paper exercise sample: a brand outlet channel clearance group submits a discount approval form. The source text reads: "Request to apply an additional 30 percent discount to 12 A-class slow-moving SKUs from the 2024 spring season; the approver comment field is blank; the finance business partner gross margin calculation sheet shows a gross margin of negative 3 percent for this SKU batch." A draft sentence to be judged reads: "This discount approval has been approved and price tag replacement may proceed." The subjects needed for judgment are the channel clearance group, the object is the 12 A-class SKUs, the state is the blank approver comment field, and the valid scope is limited to this SKU batch. The draft sentence treats submission of the approval form as equivalent to approval status and lacks an approver signature or authorization record.
Configuration and implementation checks
| Configuration item | Use on this page | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| Form input node | Collect SKU scope, discount rate, and applicant from the discount approval form | After submission, check whether the information is passed to later nodes |
| User selection node | Make a choice about approval status and execute the corresponding branch | Verify the "yes" branch connection one by one against expectation |
| Interaction state recording | Enter the interaction state after the node triggers and record the workflow state | Check whether the interaction state is recorded by the node itself |
| Output handoff | Pass form information to later judgment or interface nodes | Compare output against input item by item |
| External operation division | Price tag replacement, order writes, and status synchronization connect to a separate business interface | Confirm the workflow does not treat form submission as completed execution |
Hypothetical trial starting point: set the form input node to three required fields, chosen because this sample needs to collect applicant, SKU scope, and discount rate, and compared against the blank approver comment field. This starting point is set for this paper check and is not an official default value.
Three common errors
- Treating form submission as approval. Input is the discount approval source text above. Compare the blank approver comment field against the draft sentence "has been approved." The observable result is that the draft sentence lacks a signature or authorization record and does not hold.
- Treating execution of the user selection node's "yes" branch as a completed business action. Input is the branch connection after the user selection node triggers. Compare branch execution against the actual price tag replacement operation. The observable result is that branch execution only represents process direction, and price tag replacement requires a separate business interface.
- Treating retrieval results as permission filtering. Input is a slow-moving list retrieval request. Compare the SKUs returned by retrieval against the current operator's authorization scope. The observable result is that retrieval does not perform entity isolation or permission judgment, and authorization checking requires manual work or a downstream system.
How to verify the setup
- Using the hypothetical sample source text above, input it to the form input node and check whether the information is passed to later nodes after submission. Compare the passed SKU scope against the 12 A-class SKUs in the source text. If they match, output handoff is correct; if any are missing or misplaced, record it as not passed.
- Using the draft sentence above, input it to the user selection node and check whether the "yes" branch is triggered. Compare the trigger condition against the blank approver comment field. If the branch is triggered, the node has not distinguished submission from approval, and record that authorization checking needs to be added.
- Using a hypothetical paper input of [] to check the empty-result handoff design, observe whether the downstream node handles the empty result explicitly. If the downstream design does not define an empty-result branch, record it as a gap; do not claim that a fictional rule retrieval necessarily returns []. Libraries using different vector models cannot be associated together; check the identifier first and exclude those that do not match, rather than running cross-model retrieval to compare missed recalls.
