Tmall flagship operations: citation tracing for operations handover

Review citation tracing for operations handover in Tmall flagship operations. Check sources, input boundaries, error handling and repeatable test evidence.

What the documents look like

Tmall flagship store operations differ from JD POP store operations in their emphasis on brand authorization, flagship store identity, and Tmall points compensation rules. The working materials come from the Tmall merchant backend, the Tmall rules center, ERP order tables, and customer service chat records. For operations handover, this means four document families carry different facts: the brand authorization letter, the product listing page, the shipping commitment record, and the after-sales work order. Each sits at a different stage, and the handover parties need to confirm what stage each material is currently in. The brief gives an update frequency of daily and per order; where that frequency does not affect this page's task, it is omitted.

This page addresses only one slice of operations permission and handover management: citation sources and tracing. The knowledge base search node and any form collect information. They do not grant authorization, and a retrieval hit does not confirm that an authorization is valid.

Constraints at the citation tracing step

The knowledge base search node can select one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model, used for vector search. Its output is an array of citations whose length may be zero, meaning that even when nothing is found, the output path still completes. Citation content must be handed to the answering step, and each source statement in an answer must be checked line by line against the cited original text.

Semantic search, full-text search, hybrid search, and result reranking are distinct stages of the retrieval chain. RRF is the process that fuses multiple result paths in hybrid search. The minimum relevance score is a filter threshold that takes effect only in semantic search or when result reranking is used; it does not perform permission, entity, or authorization-status filtering. The same-vector-model requirement constrains only which knowledge bases may be associated together. It does not extend to business-registration sites or other external systems.

Hypothetical paper exercise (for this page's desk check only; it points to no real party):

Material text one: "Authorizing party A issued a brand authorization letter on March 1, 2024, authorizing Company B to sell the C series of products on the Tmall platform, with an authorization validity period ending February 28, 2025."

Material text two: "Product listing page draft states: the C series of products is published by Company B, and the category qualification cites authorization letter number A-2024-0301."

Draft sentence to be judged: "Company B has obtained long-term sales authorization for the C series of products and may decide renewal on its own."

The draft sentence turns an authorization with a stated end date into a long-term authorization and adds a self-determined renewal right that the original text does not state. The check compares the validity-period field in the authorization letter against the draft sentence's wording; the two disagree on the authorization term, and the renewal right is unsupported.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration or check itemHypothetical starting point for this exerciseReason and comparison method
Associated knowledge basesSelect the knowledge base holding the brand authorization letter and the product listing page materialsFirst check each base's vector model identifier, exclude those with different identifiers, and do not run cross-model retrieval
Search modeSemantic searchThe draft sentence uses natural-language wording and is compared semantically against the authorization letter text
Minimum relevance scoreHypothetical starting value 0.5A starting filter value for this paper exercise, compared against the number of returned items when no filter is set
Citation limitHypothetical starting value 1500 tokensA starting citation length for this paper exercise, compared against the authorization letter text to see whether it is truncated
Citation content outputCheck that the output array corresponds line by line with the answer's source sentencesCheck whether the authorization-term wording in the answer can be matched to a field in the cited original text
Material currency checkRetrieve with the current version and a historical version of the authorization letter separatelyCompare the cited original text returned in each run to confirm which effective version the answer used

Three common errors

  1. Treating a retrieval hit as authorization confirmation. Input: the draft sentence retrieves the authorization letter text. Compare the retrieval result against the authorization-status field. Retrieval returns citation content only; whether the authorization is valid still requires a manual check of the original letter's validity period.
  2. Treating a pending-review state as granted authorization. Input: a renewal request marked pending review in the handover request. Compare that marking against the authorization letter text. The original text does not state a renewal, the request sits at pending review, and this does not constitute granted authorization.
  3. Forcibly associating knowledge bases with different vector models. Input: two knowledge bases whose vector model identifiers differ. Compare the identifier fields. Different identifiers mean they cannot be associated together; record the identifiers and exclude them, without inferring the runtime result of an association.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input material text one, material text two, and the draft sentence to be judged. Compare the draft sentence's authorization-term wording against the validity-period field in the authorization letter. When the draft sentence says long-term authorization while the original states an end date, the judgment is unsupported.
  2. Input the renewal request marked pending review in the handover request. Compare that status marking against the authorization letter text. The original text states no renewal clause, so the judgment is pending verification and the evidence gap is preserved.
  3. Input the identifiers of two knowledge bases whose vector model identifiers differ. Compare the identifier fields. When the identifiers do not match, exclude joint association, record the identifiers actually observed, and do not claim that retrieval necessarily returns empty or necessarily misses recall.

These checks use only the hypothetical material texts, draft sentence, and request given above. No test, deployment, approval, or business action has occurred. Where the original text is silent, the evidence gap remains open.
