What the documents look like
Compliance evidence for cross-border product labels is produced before listing and before import, and it centres on product safety and label claims. The working documents are product test reports, English-language labels, MSDS files, and platform prohibited-item lists. Sources include platform policy centres, testing laboratory reports, destination-country regulation libraries, and supplier materials. Updates are irregular and each new listing can trigger a fresh round of material review.
Two facts shape how this material enters workflow routing. First, the evidence is assembled from several independent sources, so a single handover request may reference a test report, a label version, and an MSDS whose statuses differ from one another. Second, the interaction nodes that carry a handover request forward are the Form Input node and the User Selection node. Both are user-interaction nodes: when triggered, the conversation enters an interaction state, the workflow state is recorded, and execution continues after the user completes the interaction. The Form Input node collects required information and passes it to later nodes. The User Selection node evaluates the user's choice and executes the corresponding branch. The recorded interaction state belongs to the interaction node's own behaviour.
Constraints at the workflow routing step
The authorization status of compliance material, retrieval of that material, and form completion are separate facts. Retrieval does not constitute authorization. A form collecting values does not constitute business verification, approval, a database write, or external synchronization. Order writes, document backfill, and external status synchronization require a separate business interface or a later process.
Hypothetical paper exercise. On 10 June 2025 a compliance specialist at a cross-border seller submits a handover request asking that a batch of children's toys' English-label revision task be transferred to another operations staff member. The material text supplied for checking reads: "Product test report number TR-2025-0610, testing body a testing service company, report date 5 June 2025, conclusion: conforms to the destination country's toy safety standard." "English label version V3, marked for ages 3 and above, warning text in English, no official-language version of the destination country attached." "MSDS file status uploaded, no version number marked." The draft sentence to be assessed reads: "The English labels for this batch of children's toys already meet the destination country's compliance conditions and the listing handover may proceed."
In this exercise the test report carries a conclusion and a date, the label carries a version and a warning-text description, and the MSDS status is uploaded with no version number. The draft sentence asserts that the labels meet the destination country's compliance conditions. That judgement would require the destination country's official-language version, a label review record, or confirmation from a compliance specialist. The exercise does not supply those items, so the draft sentence is not supported.
Configuration and implementation checks
Configuration here is tied to the handover request and material check in the exercise above. The values in this table are hypothetical starting points for this exercise, used to explain the comparison method. They are not official defaults.
| Configuration item | Hypothetical starting point for this exercise | Comparison method and reason |
|---|---|---|
| Fields collected by the Form Input node | Handover recipient, material name, material version, request date | Used to check whether the handover request contains subject, object, and date; a missing field is marked as to be supplemented |
| Branches of the User Selection node | "Yes" branch corresponds to "materials complete, continue checking"; "No" branch corresponds to "materials missing, return for supplementation" | Verify branch connections one by one; the selection result determines the later path and does not automatically determine compliance |
| Interaction state recording | Record workflow state after the interaction node is triggered | Check whether the interaction state is recorded; no separate global state-recording switch is set |
| Output handover | Pass collected information to later retrieval, judgement, or interface nodes | Compare output against input item by item; a form value does not constitute authorization or approval |
| External operation division | Order writes, document backfill, external status synchronization | Requires a separate business interface or later process; no automatic trigger is assumed |
| Retrieval scope | A target retrieval scope with access rights, or an explicit manual input | Record the gap when missing; retrieval does not handle permission or entity isolation |
Three common errors
- Treating a handover request collected by a form as authorized execution. In the exercise the handover request contains an object and a date, but no signer authorization or approval record is supplied. A form value does not constitute business verification or approval. A pending review does not demonstrate the absence of operating permission, and it does not demonstrate that operating permission exists.
- Treating a retrieval result as a compliance conclusion. In the exercise the test report carries a conclusion, but the label lacks the destination country's official-language version. Retrieving the test report does not constitute authorization for label compliance. A relevance score does not constitute a category, entity, or permission filter.
- Treating interaction state recording as a global state guarantee. The Form Input node and the User Selection node enter the interaction state and record the workflow state after being triggered; this is the interaction node's own behaviour. No global state-recording switch, submission-count limit, or automatic snapshot guarantee should be inferred.
How to verify the setup
- For the handover request in the exercise, the input is "handover request of 10 June 2025, object: children's toys English-label revision task." Compare whether the request contains subject, object, date, and material version. Observed result: the request contains the date and the object; the material version is not stated. That field is marked as to be supplemented, and is not judged missing or conflicting.
- For the draft sentence in the exercise, "The English labels for this batch of children's toys already meet the destination country's compliance conditions and the listing handover may proceed," the input is the three sentences of source material text and the draft sentence. Compare the compliance condition asserted by the draft sentence against the evidence actually stated in the source text. Observed result: the source text states the test report conclusion and the label version, and does not state the destination country's official-language version or a label review record. The draft sentence is not supported, and the evidence gap is retained.
- For the branch connections of the User Selection node, the input is the two branches "materials complete, continue checking" and "materials missing, return for supplementation." Compare the user's selection with the branch execution path. Observed result: selecting "yes" executes the continue-checking branch, and selecting "no" executes the return-for-supplementation branch. No claim of actual testing is made, and no first-hit or full-recall guarantee is given. Empty-result handover can be checked with the explicit paper input
[]against the downstream design.
