Cross-border resale returns: workflow routing for operations handover

Review workflow routing for operations handover in Cross-border resale returns. Check input mappings, source evidence and failure handling before use.

What the documents look like

Cross-border return refurbishment and resale handles reverse logistics and item condition. The data sources named in the brief are the overseas warehouse WMS, the TikTok return center, Amazon return reports, and product inspection photos. The daily documents are the return inspection form, the refurbishment record, the scrap form, and the resale listing list. Each material records a different fact. The inspection form records the condition decision for an item. The refurbishment record records packaging and handling actions. The scrap form records a disposal decision. The resale listing list records the range of items treated as sellable.

For operations permission and handover management, the central question is which materials, operations, and requests sit at which authorization state at the moment of handover. A completed inspection form does not mean refurbishment has been approved. An issued scrap form does not mean scrapping has been executed. A populated resale listing list does not mean listing has been authorized. Workflow routing has to keep the collection behavior of interaction nodes separate from the execution behavior of business interfaces.

Constraints at the workflow routing step

The Form Input node is a user interaction node. When it triggers, the conversation enters an interaction state, the workflow state is recorded, and after the user completes the interaction the workflow continues downward. The node collects the form information the user submits and passes it to later nodes. The User Selection node is also a user interaction node. When it triggers, the conversation enters an interaction state, the workflow state is recorded, and after the user completes the interaction the workflow continues downward. When the user makes a selection, the node judges that selection and executes the "yes" branch.

The documented behavior of these two nodes is limited to collection and branch judgment. Order writes, document backfill, and external status synchronization require a separate business interface or a later process. Retrieval and relevance scoring do not carry permission filtering or entity isolation.

Hypothetical drill sample. Material text supplied for checking: an overseas warehouse inspector completed a return inspection form on 10 March 2025, recording that a batch of Bluetooth earphones was acceptable in appearance and normal in function, with a recommendation to refurbish and resell. An after-sales supervisor signed a refurbishment record on 11 March 2025, approving a packaging change for that batch. No scrap form has been issued. Handover request sentence to be judged: "This batch has completed refurbishment approval, please execute resale listing."

Checkpoints: the refurbishment record is signed, the resale listing list has not been generated, and the scrap form has not been issued. The request merges refurbishment approval and listing execution into one state, lacks the resale listing list material, and listing execution has not been authorized.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration itemTypeDescription
Form Input nodeInteraction nodeEnters an interaction state on trigger, collects required information, and passes it to later nodes after submission
User Selection nodeInteraction nodeEnters an interaction state on trigger, and executes the "yes" branch after the user makes a selection
Interaction state checkImplementation checkThe recorded state is behavior of the interaction node; no separate global state recording switch is set
Output handoff checkImplementation checkPass collected information explicitly to later retrieval, judgment, or interface nodes, and compare each output against its input
External operation divisionImplementation checkOrder writes, document backfill, and external status synchronization require a separate business interface or later process
Hypothetical trial starting pointHypothetical for this pageUse "refurbishment record signed" as the input state starting point for the handover request, compare it with "resale listing list generated", and judge whether listing is authorized

The hypothetical trial starting point is chosen because the signed refurbishment record is the strongest authorization fact present in the sample. It is compared against the generation state of the resale listing list, which is the material the request omits. This is a starting value for the paper comparison only, not an official default.

Three common errors

  1. Treating form submission as business approval. The Form Input node collects required information and passes it to later nodes; the submission act itself produces no approval effect. In the sample, the inspection form is completed and the refurbishment record is signed, but the resale listing list has not been generated. Submitting the inspection form does not mean listing has been authorized.
  2. Treating the "yes" branch of a user selection as completed execution. The User Selection node executing the "yes" branch indicates a workflow direction, not that an order write or external synchronization has completed. In the sample, if the user selects "approve listing", that selection only decides the branch direction. Listing execution still requires a separate business interface.
  3. Treating retrieval relevance as permission filtering. Retrieval and relevance scoring do not carry permission or entity isolation functions. In the sample, retrieving the refurbishment record does not mean that record has been signed and authorized. The signature state has to be checked.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the hypothetical sample handover request sentence "This batch has completed refurbishment approval, please execute resale listing", and compare the signature state of the refurbishment record against the generation state of the resale listing list. Expected observation: the refurbishment record is signed, the resale listing list has not been generated, listing execution is judged unauthorized, and the material gap is recorded.
  2. Input the hypothetical sample inspection form and refurbishment record, and compare the recommendation content of the inspection form against the approved scope of the refurbishment record. Expected observation: the inspection form recommends refurbishment and resale, the refurbishment record approves a packaging change, the two scopes are consistent, the scrap form has not been issued, and the scrap state remains to be verified.
  3. Input the branch result of the hypothetical sample user selection "approve listing", and compare the branch direction against the external operation division. Expected observation: the branch direction is "yes", order writes and external synchronization have not been executed, a separate business interface is required, and the division gap is recorded.
