Certificates of origin: product questions with retrieval

Review retrieval for product questions in Certificates of origin. Check document scope, failure paths and source evidence through controlled tests.

What the documents look like

For product questions in Certificates of origin, this page examines FastGPT retrieval. Compare the material received with the sources used in the answer. The examples are hypothetical.

Constraints at the retrieval step

A new certificate-of-origin source test can describe wooden decorative components in an invoice and disassembled delivery with a separately listed base in a packing record. Inspect candidates for components, disassembled and base terms, then compare retrieval modes with the complete contents question. The wording offers reading evidence without establishing a complete finished item. This example does not perform product classification or determine origin.

Three common errors

A proposed application note says, “Port A is the shipment point; production location is blank.” An answer converting shipment point into production location mixes source fields. Retain the note beside returned wording and trace the added statement. Token limits must also preserve the blank state, beyond an isolated location name. Product description, packing form and application location have different uses. Shared retrieval does not make them substitutes for evidence of the same attribute. A third error reads an unfilled production-place field as a negative origin finding. Seek applicable origin material and distinguish a blank field from an explicit denial. Shipping location and product naming cannot provide that separate evidence.

How to verify the setup

Production-source information and full product specifications remain absent; preserve both gaps separately. For a follow-up about where the item was produced, inspect whether optimization treats shipment point as an established production place. An added location without source support should not be adopted. After obtaining corresponding material, repeat the question and inspect new candidates and citations, recording supplementation separately from settings changes. Check minimum relevance only where applicable, without interpreting scores as verified product attributes or application eligibility.
