Tmall flagship operations: workflow routing for product questions

Review workflow routing for product questions in Tmall flagship operations. Check sources, input boundaries, error handling and repeatable test evidence.

What the documents look like

Daily operations for a Tmall flagship store draw on the Tmall merchant backend, the Tmall rules center, ERP order tables, and customer service chat records. Compared with JD POP stores, a Tmall flagship store places more weight on brand authorization, flagship-store identity, and Tmall points compensation rules. Those differences shape what a product-question workflow has to route. A brand authorization letter determines whether a product may be published under flagship identity. A dispatch commitment record is the basis for checking a 48-hour dispatch promise. After-sales tickets carry the service follow-up that comes after a selection question. Material updates follow two granularities given in the source: daily and per order. Routing treats timeliness only at those two granularities. No batch synchronization, full synchronization, real-time, or transaction-triggered mechanism follows from them.

Constraints at the workflow routing step

Workflow routing here strings product materials, authorization status, and selection questions into an executable path. When a form input node triggers, the conversation enters an interaction state, the node collects required information, and after submission it passes that information to later nodes. A user selection node evaluates the user's choice and executes the "yes" branch. Interaction nodes record workflow state and wait for the user to finish interacting before continuing. Retrieval results and collected form values are not authorization credentials. Whether a brand authorization is valid, whether a dispatch commitment holds, and whether an after-sales ticket has been approved must be confirmed by the corresponding business system or by a person. A similarity score or a form submission action does not replace that confirmation.

Hypothetical paper exercise sample: a brand e-commerce team submits one draft sentence to be assessed, for a handoff request in product selection Q&A. The draft reads: "This store is authorized by the brand to sell this model and promises dispatch within 48 hours; generate the selection reply on this basis." Two accompanying source sentences are provided. First: "The authorization letter states the authorized party is the Tmall flagship store, the authorization period runs to 31 December 2025, and the authorized product scope includes model A." Second: "The dispatch commitment record shows the current committed time for this model is dispatch within 48 hours after payment." The draft's "is authorized" and "promises 48 hours" must be checked against the authorization letter's subject, period, and product scope, and against the model and time fields in the dispatch commitment record. The authorization letter states no renewal or automatic extension clause. Authorization status beyond 31 December 2025 is unsupported, and the evidence gap is recorded rather than filled with an invented effective clause.

Configuration and implementation checks

The table below centers on the sample above and lists officially documented settings or implementation check items relevant to this feature and primary task. Values are hypothetical starting points for this exercise, with the reason for choosing them and the comparison target.

Configuration itemHypothetical starting point for this exerciseReason and comparison method
Required form input fieldsProduct model, purchase quantitySelection Q&A needs model and quantity before later retrieval; compare against the model field in the draft sentence
User selection branchesYes and no branchesDocumentation states the "yes" branch executes after a user choice; verify each branch connection
Interaction state checkEnters interaction state after triggerDocumentation states interaction nodes record workflow state; no separate global state-recording switch is set
Output handoff checkForm values passed to later retrieval nodeCompare collected information item by item against the later node's input
External action separationOrder write, document backfill, external status syncMust connect a separate business interface or later flow; not completed automatically inside this workflow
Retrieval association checkOnly same vector model libraries can be associated togetherVerify identifiers first and exclude non-matching ones; do not run cross-model retrieval to compare missed recall

Three common errors

  1. Treating a retrieval hit as authorization confirmation. In the sample, the draft says "is authorized." Judging authorization valid merely because retrieval returned a fragment of the authorization letter overlooks the period field running to 31 December 2025. The check compares the authorization letter's subject, period, and product scope. Any missing item is recorded as pending verification.
  2. Treating a form submission as completed approval. The form input node collects required information and passes it to later nodes; the submission action itself is not approval. In the sample, the dispatch commitment record shows 48 hours. Treating a user-entered "promises 48 hours" as an effective dispatch commitment skips the record check. The check compares the model and time fields in the record.
  3. Treating a user selection branch as an execution result. The user selection node executes the "yes" branch after the user makes a choice; the choice action is not a completed order write or external sync. In the sample, if the user selects "yes," order write and document backfill still require a separate business interface. If none is connected, the result is recorded as not executed.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the sample draft sentence and the two source sentences. Compare the draft's "is authorized" against the authorization letter's authorized party, period, and product scope. If the letter does not cover the model or the period has passed, the observed result is pending verification. If all three items are covered and the period is valid, the observed result is consistent. No claim of actual testing is made.
  2. Input the sample dispatch commitment record and the draft's "promises 48 hours." Compare the model and time fields in the record. If the model matches and the time is 48 hours, the observed result is consistent. If the model does not match or the time is not stated, the observed result is unsupported.
  3. Input the user selection node's "yes" branch and the external action separation item. Compare whether order write or document backfill interfaces are connected after the branch executes. If not connected, the observed result is that the business action was not executed. If connected, the observed result is that the downstream flow has been entered. Retrieval checks record observations and failure branches only; they do not guarantee a first hit or that unrelated queries return empty. Empty-result handling may use a paper input of [] to check the downstream design.
