What the documents look like
A Shopify independent store configures its own payment, shipping, and fulfillment services. The platform does not apply a single automatic return process across all merchants, which differs from a marketplace-operated store. Order details, shipping templates, shipping labels, and refund records therefore sit in separate systems: Shopify Admin, payment gateways, carrier systems, and inventory location data. These materials update per order and daily.
Conversation logs and audit work must connect those business materials to conversation records. An order number, a refund record, and a shipping label status need to align with the chatId and dataId of a specific conversation before anyone can judge which fulfillment stage an answer belongs to. Because sources are dispersed, a log does not automatically carry order status. Reviewers compare the original business material with the returned interface fields side by side.
Constraints at the conversation logs step
A stored log does not mean a compliance audit is complete. Reconciliation, retention, and compliance obligations belong to a full business solution. This page covers reading conversation records, cross-checking them, and judging handover status.
Retrieval and similarity scores carry no permission or entity isolation duty. The score and similarity fields reflect recall ranking only. They cannot exclude unrelated merchants or unauthorized records. The detail parameter of the chat interface decides whether intermediate values return. When detail is not set, responseData does not appear, and field meaning follows the actual interface return. Business data that is not returned cannot be assumed fully retained. Test mode and production calls may use different identity fields, so inputs, history, and returned content need separate checks.
Hypothetical drill sample: the source material reads "Order #SHP-2041, created 2024-10-13, refund record status 'requested', shipping label purchased and not yet handed to carrier." A handover request to be judged reads "Please confirm this order has completed refund and terminated fulfillment." The subject is order #SHP-2041, the objects are the refund record and the shipping label, their states are requested and purchased-not-handed-over, and the effective scope is 2024-10-13. The refund record shows requested, not completed. The shipping label shows purchased and not handed over, not terminated. The phrases "completed refund" and "terminated fulfillment" in the handover request have no support in the material and remain pending verification. They cannot be treated as done. The authorization boundary: only the conversation records tied to this order may be read; no refund write or label cancellation follows from this reading.
Configuration and implementation checks
Configuration here centers on reading and cross-checking the sample. It lists only documented settings or implementation checks. The values are starting points for this hypothetical trial, used for comparison against actual interface returns, and are not official defaults.
| Configuration item | Hypothetical starting value | Reason and comparison object |
|---|---|---|
| detail | true | Needs module run detail in responseData; compare with detail=false where responseData is absent |
| stream | false | Obtains complete choices and responseData in one return; compare with stream=true event fragments |
| chatId | Conversation ID for the sample order | Retrieves history by conversation; compare with another order's chatId to confirm no mixing |
| source | api | Retrieves conversations created through the API; compare with page-created conversation sources |
| pageSize | 10 | Hypothetical starting point for paging the conversation list; compare with total to confirm full retrieval |
| loadCustomFeedbacks | true | Reads custom feedback; compare with omitting the parameter where feedback fields are absent |
The chatId must be unique and shorter than 250 characters. The responseChatItemId must be unique under the current chatId. The variables object replaces [key] in module input fields. An authProxy identity still needs permission on the target app and conversation. The interactive object returned for an interaction node contains only type and params; internal run-state fields are not returned.
Three common errors
- Treating a requested refund record as a completed refund. Input: the sample source material and the handover request. Comparison: the refund record status field against the phrase "completed refund." Observable result: the material shows requested only, so the judgment is pending verification.
- Treating a purchased, not-yet-handed-over shipping label as terminated fulfillment. Input: the shipping label status and the phrase "terminated fulfillment." Comparison: the two. Observable result: the label shows no cancellation or termination, so the claim is unsupported.
- Using similarity or score to exclude other order records. Input: the score values and order numbers in the recall list. Comparison: score against order ownership. Observable result: score carries no order or permission information, so it cannot exclude unrelated records.
How to verify the setup
- Take the sample source material and the handover request. Send a chat request with detail=true and stream=false. Compare whether the returned responseData contains the corresponding module run detail. Its appearance satisfies the reading condition; its absence records a field gap.
- Take the chatId and the order number. Compare the dataId in that conversation's record list against order #SHP-2041 in the business material. A match satisfies same-subject cross-checking; a mismatch records that the conversation and order are not aligned.
- Take the refund record status "requested" and the draft sentence "completed refund." Compare the status field value. When the material does not state completion, judge it as pending verification and do not rewrite the status because of the request wording. For empty-result handling, a clearly labeled paper input [] can check the downstream design; do not claim that a fictional rule search must return []. Libraries across different vector models cannot be jointly associated; check identifiers first and exclude those that do not match.
