Cross-border payment reviews: multi-turn prompts for after-sales questions

Review multi-turn prompts for after-sales questions in Cross-border payment reviews. Check input mappings, source evidence and failure handling before use.

What the documents look like

Cross-border standalone-site payment risk control revolves around card-network disputes and receiving accounts, and it does not only track parcel status. The working materials are payment chargeback notices, fraudulent-order lists, invoices, and carrier proof of delivery. These come from Stripe or PayPal backends, Shopify orders, carrier delivery records, and customer-service email. The update frequency is daily or per order, so within one multi-turn conversation the dispute status, delivery status, and settlement status of the same order can belong to different points in time. Prompts need to state the scope of materials in use and require the model to say that something is pending verification when evidence is absent, rather than writing in business facts that the materials do not carry.

Constraints at the multi-turn prompts step

Multi-turn dialogue has to distinguish a new session from a continued session. When a chatId is passed, the system automatically takes the session from the database and uses the last element of the messages array as the user question, ignoring the remaining messages. When no chatId is passed, context is built entirely from the supplied messages. Prompts need to state which materials may be cited in the current turn, treat prior history as reference only, and avoid treating an earlier answer as evidence. The reply format follows what the downstream step needs; when a fixed structure is required, select json_schema and fill in the corresponding format requirements, then check the returned structure against them.

Hypothetical paper exercise sample: a risk-control specialist at a standalone-site merchant assembles after-sales materials for one order on 10 March 2026. The source text to be checked reads: the payment chargeback notice states that the order received a chargeback on 5 March 2026, with the reason "goods not received"; the carrier delivery record shows delivery on 3 March 2026, signed by the recipient in person; the invoice states an order amount of 480 US dollars. One draft sentence awaiting judgment reads: "The order was delivered, the chargeback does not stand, and the funds will be returned to the merchant account." Comparing the draft sentence with the source text: the materials support only that a delivery fact and a chargeback fact coexist. They do not state a dispute ruling outcome or a funds-return status. The draft sentence exceeds the scope of the materials.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration itemHypothetical starting point for this exerciseReason for the choice and comparison method
Memory roundsKeep a small number of history roundsThe official description notes that customer-service and knowledge-base Q&A applications usually need only a small number of history rounds; compare whether the model cites a prior answer as evidence under different round counts
TemperatureOn the low sideThe official description recommends a low setting for customer service and knowledge-base Q&A; compare whether repeated answers to the same question stay stable
Reply formatDefault; select json_schema when a fixed structure is neededThe official description notes that ordinary customer-service Q&A keeps the default, and the setting changes only when a downstream step must read a fixed format; after selecting it, fill in the format requirements and check the returned structure
Multimodal recognitionEnable according to the model's actual supported capabilitiesThe official description notes that selectable types depend on model capability, and unsupported types are not sent to the model; check the capability shown in the configuration dialog
Hide AI outputDecide by whether a downstream node needs to process itThe official description notes that when enabled, content is not shown directly but can still be passed to a downstream node through the AI reply output; check whether the downstream node receives the content
Thinking configurationDefaultThe official description notes that the default uses the model's default configuration; if an error appears after switching, revert to the default

Three common errors

  1. Treating retrieval output as authorized execution. A retrieval library returning similar content means only that it matched; it does not mean the chargeback handling for that order has been approved. Check input: the retrieval request. Comparison object: the retrieval result and the authorization record. Observable result: whether the two have been merged into a single fact.
  2. Writing a pending-review status as completed. In the hypothetical sample, the chargeback notice states only that a chargeback was received and does not state a ruling outcome. Check input: the draft sentence. Comparison object: the status fields in the source text. Observable result: whether the draft sentence contains a conclusion the materials do not state.
  3. Treating a form returned by an interactive node as an executed business action. The interactive node returns a display configuration; the form collects values, while business verification, approval, database writes, and external synchronization require downstream implementation. Check input: the interactive node response. Comparison object: whether a downstream execution record exists. Observable result: whether form submission has been equated with business completion.

How to verify the setup

  1. For the draft sentence in the hypothetical sample, input the source text and the draft sentence, compare whether the draft sentence contains a funds-return or chargeback-does-not-stand conclusion that the materials do not state, and observe whether the draft sentence is marked as exceeding the scope of the materials.
  2. For the order in the hypothetical sample, input the chargeback notice and the delivery record for the same order, compare whether the subject, date, and status fields of the two materials agree, and observe that the delivery fact and the chargeback fact coexist while the dispute ruling status remains pending verification.
  3. For the continued session in the hypothetical sample, input the same chatId with a new user question, compare whether the system uses the last element of the messages array as the user question, and observe that the prior answer is not cited as evidence.

The checks above are paper exercises. No test, deployment, or approval has been carried out. The dispute ruling outcome, funds-return status, and authorization records not stated in the materials remain missing, and no clause is invented to obtain a definite answer.
