What the documents look like
Amazon FBM fulfillment places picking, packing, carrier handover and return-address setup with the seller. Platform warehouses do not inspect the goods, so a product or marketing sentence that promises a delivery window or a return right has to be checked against the seller's own operational paperwork. For this category the relevant source materials are the order picking list, the shipment confirmation, the return address setting and the logistics tracking sheet. These materials update per order and daily, which means the version referenced during drafting may already have changed by the time a sentence is reviewed.
The source systems are spread across Seller Central, carrier systems, ERP orders and customer service email. The same fact can appear under different field conventions in different systems. A carrier status in the tracking sheet and a status recorded in customer service email are two separate sources, and a draft that relies on either one needs a traceable original fragment rather than a paraphrase.
This page addresses one task only: drafting product and marketing copy with citation tracing for Amazon FBM fulfillment. It does not cover business identity verification, report analysis or any other task. The question under review is whether a proposed sentence is supported by the material supplied for checking.
Constraints at the citation tracing step
Citation tracing at the drafting stage handles one relationship: whether a proposed sentence is supported by the material provided for comparison. Retrieval similarity and relevance scores order candidate content. They do not act as a permission filter or an entity isolation mechanism, and they do not decide which business records may be read.
The knowledge base search node can associate one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model. Knowledge bases with different vector models cannot be associated together. During checking, confirm the vector model identifier first and exclude candidates that do not match; do not run a cross-model retrieval to compare missed recalls.
The search node outputs cited content as an array, and the length may be zero. An empty array does not mean the workflow has terminated with an error. Full-text retrieval suits exact queries such as numbers, model designations and proper nouns; semantic retrieval suits natural-language questions; hybrid retrieval merges multiple result paths through RRF; a rerank model reorders candidate text. Whether these paths execute depends on the actual input and configuration. Image retrieval requires image input and model capability. Reranking requires a model and must be enabled in the settings.
A hypothetical paper exercise sample is set out here. The material supplied for checking reads: "The picking list for this order batch records 12 units of SKU-A; the shipment confirmation records 10 units actually dispatched, with a difference of 2 units pending customer service follow-up; the return address setting is the South China warehouse; the logistics tracking sheet shows carrier Company B, tracking number ending 4471, status in transit." One proposed sentence under review reads: "This product supports 30-day no-reason returns, and all orders ship the same day." The objects of judgment are two claims: the return period and the dispatch time. The period is this order batch. The authorization boundary is the four materials above and nothing else. The materials do not state a return period, and they do not state same-day dispatch. Neither claim is supported, so both are pending verification. This is not a conclusion that the sentence contradicts the materials.
Configuration and implementation checks
The table below lists settings that the official documentation describes, or implementation checks, applied to the sample above. The values are starting points for this hypothetical exercise and are not official defaults.
| Configuration or check item | Hypothetical starting point for this exercise | Reason for the choice and comparison method |
|---|---|---|
| Associated knowledge bases | Select only knowledge bases sharing the same vector model as the sample material | Only identical vector models may be associated together; compare vector model identifiers against other candidate bases and exclude non-matching ones |
| Search mode | Hybrid retrieval | The sample contains exact items such as SKU-A and tracking suffix 4471 alongside natural-language claims; compare hit content against semantic retrieval alone |
| Result reranking | Enabled, executed per settings | Reranking reorders text when candidates are numerous; compare the score order of the same material before and after reranking |
| Citation limit | Starting point for this exercise set to a token volume covering the four materials | This value is a starting point for the exercise, not an official default; compare against a smaller value to see which cited entries are trimmed |
| Minimum relevance | Starting point for this exercise set to a medium value | This value is a starting point for the exercise, not an official default; compare against a lower value to see which low-scoring entries are filtered out |
| Citation output handover | Check whether the citation array is passed to the answering step | Compare each answer sentence against the cited original text; treat an empty array as a zero-length handover and check the downstream design |
Three common errors
- Treating the return period and the dispatch time in the proposed sentence as already supported by the material. The input is the four sample materials and the proposed sentence. Compare whether the materials state a return period and same-day dispatch. The observable result is that the materials do not state either, so both should be recorded as unsupported.
- Treating the minimum relevance value or a similarity score as a permission or entity filter. The input is one retrieval configuration and a set of candidate results. Compare whether the score changes the accessible range of the records. The observable result is that the score affects ordering and the filtering threshold only; it does not change authorization.
- Treating an empty citation array as a workflow error termination. The input is a paper input of [] together with the downstream handover design. Compare whether the downstream step still executes. The observable result is that a zero-length output can be handed over; do not conclude from this that a retrieval rule must return empty.
How to verify the setup
- Input the sample material text and the proposed sentence. Compare whether the two claims, the return period and the dispatch time, have corresponding recorded fields. Record the claim as supported only when the material explicitly states the same subject, the same period and the same field with a value. Record it as pending verification when the material does not state it.
- Input two knowledge bases with the same vector model identifier and one knowledge base with a different vector model. Compare whether the association operation is permitted. The condition is met only when the same-model bases can be associated together, the different-model base is excluded, and the actual observation is recorded.
- Input a paper citation array of []. Compare whether the downstream answering step still executes and produces output. The condition is met only when the downstream step hands over a zero-length result without an error termination. Do not claim that a fictional rule retrieval necessarily returns [].
This page covers only Amazon FBM fulfillment, product and marketing copy drafting, and citation tracing. Whether a specific promotional sentence in product copy is supported by the materials cannot be converted into a business identity verification tutorial.
