What the documents look like
JD POP third-party store operations work with open-platform dispute rules and warranty-period service records. Copy drafting for product and marketing text draws on four recurring materials: product information sheets, dispatch-time commitments, dispute handling forms, and warranty-period service records. These materials are produced daily or per order, and the dispatch promises, warranty statements, and after-sales descriptions in a draft need to match what the corresponding records state.
Citation tracing at the drafting stage means checking whether the source text a proposed sentence relies on actually contains the subject, object, status, or effective scope needed for the judgment. A product information sheet may record a warranty period and its start point; a dispatch-time commitment may record a deadline and a condition that extends it. The drafting step compares the proposed sentence against those specific entries rather than against general impressions of the product.
Constraints at the citation tracing step
The knowledge base search node can associate one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model, and it outputs citations as an array whose length can be zero. Even when nothing is found, the output path still runs. The citation content then goes to the answering step, where each reply is checked against the cited source text.
Minimum relevance is a filter threshold that takes effect only in semantic retrieval or when result reranking is used. It is not a permission filter and does not isolate entities or unauthorized records. Hybrid retrieval merges multiple result paths through RRF, and reranking produces a 0–1 score used for filtering. The citation limit controls how many tokens of content a single search may cite.
Hypothetical paper exercise: a JD POP store operator drafts a product sentence. The available materials are a product information sheet (record: product A, warranty period 12 months, counted from the date of signing) and a dispatch-time commitment (record: dispatch within 48 hours after payment, postponed on statutory holidays). The draft sentence reads: "This product has a 12-month warranty counted from the date of signing, and is dispatched within 48 hours after payment." The check is whether the warranty start method and the dispatch deadline in the draft match the two source records.
Configuration and implementation checks
| Configuration item | Hypothetical starting point for this exercise | Reason and comparison object |
|---|---|---|
| Associated knowledge bases | Two bases: product information sheet and dispatch-time commitment | Check whether their vector model identifiers match; exclude any that differ |
| Search mode | Hybrid retrieval | Warranty and dispatch wording contains exact phrasing; compare against semantic retrieval alone |
| Citation limit | Hypothetical starting point 2000 tokens | Covers the relevant passages in both materials; compare against 500 tokens for recall completeness |
| Minimum relevance | Hypothetical starting point 0.3 | Compare against 0.5 to observe whether low-scoring citations are filtered |
| Result reranking | Enabled | Compare against disabled to observe ordering changes; the rerank score is used for filtering |
| Citation output handling | Citation array passed to the answering step | Check that each reply corresponds to the cited source text |
Three common errors
- Treating minimum relevance as a permission filter. Minimum relevance is a filter threshold and does not exclude unrelated businesses or unauthorized records. Check: run the same query at different relevance thresholds and compare the returned entries, observing whether entries unrelated to the query topic still appear.
- Treating an empty citation output as a workflow error. The search node outputs a citation array whose length may be zero, and the output path still runs. Check: use a paper input of an empty array to check the downstream design, observing whether the downstream handles it as an empty result.
- Associating knowledge bases that use different vector models. Association requires the same vector model. Check: verify the vector model identifier of each base, exclude those that do not match, and record the actual observation.
How to verify the setup
- Input the product information sheet source text and the draft sentence from the hypothetical exercise. Compare the draft phrase "12-month warranty counted from the date of signing" against the source text "warranty period 12 months, counted from the date of signing." The condition is met when the two match.
- Input the dispatch-time commitment source text and the draft sentence. Compare the draft phrase "dispatched within 48 hours after payment" against the source text "dispatch within 48 hours after payment, postponed on statutory holidays." The draft omits the postponement condition, which is an incomplete citation and should be recorded as pending verification.
- Input the same query using hybrid retrieval and semantic retrieval separately, and compare the returned citation entries to observe whether hybrid retrieval includes full-text hits. Hybrid retrieval results are expected to be richer, without any assurance that the first entry matches or that all relevant entries are recalled.
