What the documents look like
Receiving and putaway is the first physical-versus-record confirmation when goods enter a warehouse. The working data comes from the WMS, ERP purchasing records, supplier delivery notes and barcode scanning. The documents handled day to day are the purchase arrival note, the receiving inspection sheet, the putaway task and the discrepancy report.
The task on this page is drafting product and marketing copy from those materials. At the drafting step, context and token settings decide how much of the material the model can see, how long the output can run, and which fragments are cited. Received quantity, inspection status and discrepancy handling progress are record-confirmation facts. Any promotional sentence in the draft needs a corresponding field in the source material. Selling points, lead times or stock states that the material does not state are unsupported content and must not be filled in by the model. The source material updates per batch and per day; this page does not derive batch synchronization, real-time triggering or transaction-triggered mechanisms from that frequency.
Constraints at the context limits step
The context window is checked against the actual model capability. The reply limit only constrains output length and cannot be treated as the full context window. The knowledge base citation limit is controlled in tokens, so a long single passage may be truncated and needs to be checked against a question sample. Prior turns change the input for the same question under different conversation states, so comparisons should hold history differences constant. When a fixed reply format is used, field completeness and successful parsing need separate verification.
Hypothetical drill sample: the source material reads "Purchase arrival note PO-2024-0417 records 200 units of Type A storage boxes; receiving inspection sheet YS-0417 records 200 units actually received with intact appearance; putaway task SJ-0417 assigns them to location B-03 and its status is completed." The draft sentence to be judged is "Type A storage boxes are in ample stock and ship the same day the order is placed." The phrases "ample stock" and "ships the same day" have no corresponding field in the material. They are unsupported content and should be removed at drafting or rewritten to match the received quantity and putaway status.
Configuration and implementation checks
The configuration below stays with the sample above and lists only documented settings or implementation checks tied to this feature and the primary task. The values are hypothetical starting points for this exercise, used for comparison, and are not official defaults.
| Configuration item | Hypothetical starting point for this exercise | Reason and comparison method |
|---|---|---|
| AI model | Choose a model that supports the required context length | Check the displayed maximum context against the combined length of the sample material and the draft sentence |
| Reply limit | Set long enough to hold the basis and the handling action | Compare with the draft sentence length and observe whether it is truncated early |
| Memory turns | Keep a small number of prior turns | Compare the input for the same question with empty history and with history |
| Knowledge base citation limit | Set in tokens, covering the length of a single passage | Compare with the token count of the sample passage and observe whether it is truncated |
| Reply format | Choose json_schema when a fixed structure is needed | Check field completeness and successful parsing, not only text length |
| Minimum relevance | Set when semantic retrieval or reranking is in effect | Compare with the sample question and observe whether low-relevance fragments are filtered |
Three common errors
- Treating the reply limit as the full context window. The input is the sample material plus the draft sentence. Compare the two distinct numbers, the model maximum context and the reply limit, and observe whether the reply limit is mistaken for the length of material that can be referenced. The reply limit constrains output only.
- Letting the model write selling points the material does not state. The input is the sample source text and the draft sentence. Compare whether "ample stock" and "ships the same day" have corresponding fields, and observe whether the draft contains unsupported wording. What the material does not state is unsupported.
- Using minimum relevance as a permission or entity filter. The input is the sample question and the retrieval settings. Compare whether returned fragments fall inside the target scope the requester may access, and observe whether a similarity threshold is treated as an authorization control. Retrieval does not perform authorization.
How to verify the setup
- Input the sample source text and the draft sentence, compare whether each promotional point in the draft has a corresponding field in the source, and observe whether "ample stock" and "ships the same day" are marked unsupported and removed or rewritten. This is the expected result; it has not been tested.
- Input the same question in two states, empty history and with history, compare the difference between the two inputs, and observe whether the memory turn setting matches the expectation. If the two inputs show no difference, record the actual observation without inferring a cause.
- Input the sample material, compare the citation limit with the token count of the single passage, and observe whether the material is cited in full or shows truncation. If truncation appears, record the gap without claiming that retrieval necessarily returns empty or necessarily matches.
An empty-result handoff can be checked against the explicit paper input [] for downstream design; this does not claim that a fictional rule retrieval necessarily returns []. Image retrieval requires an image input and model capability, and reranking requires a model enabled by configuration. The paths shown in the document flow diagram do not mean every path runs on every request. Libraries across different vector models cannot be associated together; check the identifier first, exclude those that do not match, and record the actual observation rather than inventing a run result.
