What the documents look like
Brand concession operations in shopping malls accept unified mall cashiering and commission-based settlement. The daily materials include joint-operation commission contracts, mall activity letters, sales receipts, and monthly reconciliation statements. These materials come from mall POS, brand ERP, mall membership activities, and financial systems, with daily and monthly update frequencies. Contract and transaction material comparison places contract clauses alongside activity letters, receipts, and reconciliation statements in the same retrieval library, checking subject, period, and field item by item. Document parsing and chunking determine whether each material can be fully recalled, which in turn affects whether a comparison conclusion holds.
The subject name, concession counter number, settlement period, and commission rate are key fields for comparison. If chunking separates these fields from the conditions they constrain, the retrieval result cannot support a judgment of same subject, same period, same field. The mall activity letter typically contains activity period, participating counters, commission adjustments, and cost-bearing conditions. Sales receipts contain transaction date, amount, and counter identifier. Monthly reconciliation statements contain settlement cycle, total sales, and commission fees. The joint-operation commission contract contains the cooperating parties, contract term, commission rate, and settlement method.
During parsing, document identity and version that can point back to the original text must be preserved. During segmentation, the specific material structure must be checked so that conditions, descriptions, and the content they constrain are not separated. Data and indexes must be distinguished: the same group of original data can correspond to multiple indexes, and one group of data can correspond to multiple vectors. During retrieval, vectors are recalled first, then the original data content is located in MongoDB by vector ID. If the same group of original data is matched, it is merged and the highest vector score is taken. The vector model identifier of the retrieval library must be checked first; libraries across different vector models cannot be jointly associated. Retrieval does not perform an authorization function. Recalling a material does not mean that material has been approved or has taken effect.
Hypothetical drill sample: The material text for comparison reads, "Party A commissions Party B to operate the 'XX' brand concession on the third floor of XX Mall. The contract term runs from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. The joint-operation commission rate is 18% of monthly sales. The settlement cycle is the calendar month." Another material text reads, "The mall activity letter states: from May 1 to May 5, 2024, the commission rate for participating counters is adjusted to 15%, and activity costs are borne by the brand." The draft sentence to be judged is, "In May 2024, the commission rate for this concession is 18%." This draft sentence differs from the activity letter on the commission rate field during May 1 to May 5. It is necessary to check whether the activity letter covers that period, whether it targets the same concession, and whether the contract states an applicable rule for commission adjustment during activity periods. Contract term, activity period, and settlement period are three different ranges and cannot substitute for one another.
Constraints at the document chunking step
The activity letter conditions, receipt fields, reconciliation fields, and contract clauses each have their own structure. Chunking by contract clause, activity letter condition, receipt field, and reconciliation field keeps conditions attached to what they constrain. A commission adjustment stated for May 1 to May 5 cannot be treated as applying to the whole month. The period field in the activity letter and the period field in the contract must be compared as separate ranges. When the ranges do not match, the draft sentence is not supported.
The retrieval library's vector model identifier must be checked for consistency between indexing and retrieval. Libraries across different vector models cannot be jointly associated. Retrieval does not perform authorization or validity verification. Recalling a joint-operation commission contract only means the contract text can be recalled in the library. Whether the contract was signed and whether it has taken effect require separate verification. An upload success does not mean the index has been updated. After material changes, the actual training and index status must be checked.
The citation upper limit is measured in tokens. The minimum relevance value takes effect only during semantic retrieval or result reranking. RRF is a fusion process for multiple retrieval paths in hybrid retrieval, not an independent switch. Image retrieval requires image input and corresponding model capability. Reranking requires a model and must be enabled according to settings. The overall retrieval flow lists optional paths that are not all executed on every request.
Configuration and implementation checks
| Configuration or check item | Value or action in this page's sample | Basis and explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Knowledge library scope | Place joint-operation commission contract, mall activity letter, sales receipt, and monthly reconciliation statement in the same library | The smallest search unit is the library; collections are only for classification management |
| Vector model identifier | Check that the vector model identifier used for indexing and retrieval is consistent | Libraries across different vector models cannot be jointly associated |
| Segmentation method | Segment by contract clause, activity letter condition, receipt field, and reconciliation field | Conditions and the content they constrain must not be separated |
| Multi-vector mapping | Add multiple index groups for an activity letter containing multiple conditions | One group of data can correspond to multiple vectors |
| Search mode | Use full-text retrieval or hybrid retrieval for concession counter numbers and contract numbers | Number-type exact queries suit keyword matching |
| Citation upper limit and minimum relevance | Hypothetical trial starting point for this page: citation upper limit set to 2000 tokens, minimum relevance set to 0.3 | This starting point is only for this page's sample check; it must be compared with actual returned content before adjustment |

Three common errors
- Treating a commission adjustment in an activity letter as applying to the whole month. The activity letter states a 15% commission rate from May 1 to May 5, 2024. If the draft sentence says "In May 2024, the commission rate is 18%," the activity letter period and the contract period must be compared for overlap, and the activity letter must be checked for the same concession. When the period ranges do not match, the draft sentence is not supported.
- Treating a retrieval hit as authorization or effectiveness. Recalling a joint-operation commission contract only means the contract text can be recalled in the library. Whether the contract was signed and whether it has taken effect require separate verification. The retrieval result does not constitute authorization.
- Treating upload success as index update completion. After material changes, the actual training and index status must be checked. Upload success does not mean retrieval has been updated. If a reconciliation statement updated at month-end has not been indexed, retrieval may still return the old version content.
How to verify the setup
- Input the contract text, activity letter text, and draft sentence from the hypothetical sample. Compare the period field of the draft sentence with the period field of the activity letter. If the activity letter period is May 1 to May 5 and the draft sentence states 18% for the whole month, then the draft sentence and the activity letter have different values on the commission rate field during the overlapping period, and the draft sentence is judged as not supported. If retrieval does not return the activity letter, record it as an evidence gap.
- Input the concession counter number or contract number using full-text retrieval or hybrid retrieval. Observe whether the returned content contains the paragraph where the corresponding number appears. If the returned content lacks the paragraph where the number appears, check whether segmentation separated the number from its condition. Do not presume a first hit or full recall.
- Input a contract text that does not state its signing status. Check whether the retrieval result contains that contract. If the contract is returned, record its signing status as not stated. A pending review status does not prove lack of operation permission, and does not prove the contract has taken effect. An empty result can be checked against downstream design using a clearly stated paper input. Do not claim that retrieval of a fictional rule necessarily returns empty.
