Chain-store site selection: citation tracing for document comparison

Review citation tracing for document comparison in Chain-store site selection. Check input mappings, source evidence and failure handling before use.

What the documents look like

Site selection and store opening for a chain headquarters happen before the store begins trading. The core transactions are lease and engineering delivery. Four document types form the comparison set: site evaluation forms, lease letters of intent, renovation budgets, and opening schedules. The main data sources are trade-area foot traffic, map POI data, POS history by store type, and landlord materials. Updates are irregular and occur once per store. This shape means citation tracing must anchor to a single store and a single document version. Numbers from different stores or different stages cannot be merged into one comparison conclusion. Deposit loss, delayed delivery, and store-opening losses are the consequences of unsupported comparison, so cited content must return to a specific field in a specific document.

Constraints at the citation tracing step

The knowledge base search node selects one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model, and outputs a citation content array whose length may be zero. When the citation array is empty, the output path still runs. This does not mean the workflow errored and terminated, and it does not mean the material does not exist. The minimum relevance value is a filter threshold that takes effect only in semantic retrieval or when result reranking is used. It does not perform permission filtering, entity isolation, or validity judgment. The same-vector-model requirement constrains only the association scope. It does not extend to business registration sites or other external systems. Hybrid retrieval merges multiple result paths through RRF; this is a fusion process, not a switch that can be turned on. Reranking requires a model and must be enabled by configuration. Image retrieval requires corresponding image input and model capability. Optional paths shown in the overall document flow diagram do not mean every request executes all of them.

Hypothetical drill sample: A chain headquarters development staff member holds a scanned lease letter of intent for the "Xingqiao Road store." The original text reads: "The lessor agrees to lease the ground-floor shop at No. 12 Xingqiao Road to the lessee. The intent deposit of RMB 50,000 is payable within three working days after signing this letter of intent. This letter of intent is valid until March 31, 2026." In the same material set, the renovation budget reads: "Total renovation budget for the Xingqiao Road store is RMB 400,000, including fire-safety modification." The proposed draft sentence is: "The Xingqiao Road store lease has signed a formal contract, and the RMB 400,000 renovation budget has been approved." The pending request is: "Please confirm, based on citation sources, that this store's lease contract has taken effect and that renovation approval has been granted."

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration or check itemPurpose on this pageBasis and boundary
Associated knowledge basesLimit to the library holding Xingqiao Road store materialsOnly bases with the same vector model can be associated together; verify identifiers first
Citation content outputCarry the retrieval citation arrayLength may be zero; an empty array does not equal an error
Minimum relevanceFilter low-relevance resultsEffective only in semantic retrieval or reranking; does not judge validity
Citation limitControl cited tokensMeasured in tokens, not top k
Search modePrecise matching of numbers and amountsFull-text or hybrid retrieval suits proper nouns
Manual comparison actionCompare original text against draft line by lineRetrieval does not replace authorization or validity judgment

Hypothetical trial starting point: the citation limit is set to 2000 tokens. The reason is that the sample materials contain two passages, the letter of intent and the budget, and 2000 tokens covers both original passages with margin. Compared with 500 tokens, 500 may truncate the budget passage. Compared with 5000, 5000 introduces unrelated store content. This is a hypothetical starting point for this exercise, not an official default value.

Three common errors

  1. Treating a retrieval hit as evidence that a contract has taken effect. The input is the draft sentence "the lease has signed a formal contract." The comparison object is the letter of intent original text "the lessor agrees to lease... this letter of intent is valid until March 31, 2026." The observable result is that the original text states only intent and does not record formal contract signing or effectiveness. The judgment is unsupported.
  2. Treating the intent deposit payment clause as paid deposit or paid rent. The input is "the intent deposit of RMB 50,000 is payable within three working days after signing." The comparison object is "has been approved" in the draft sentence. The observable result is that the parties, objects, and fields differ, so neither supports the other.
  3. Treating the renovation budget amount as an approval conclusion. The input is the budget original text "total renovation budget RMB 400,000, including fire-safety modification." The comparison object is the draft sentence "the RMB 400,000 renovation budget has been approved." The observable result is that the original text lists only a budget and does not record an approving party or approval status. The judgment is pending verification.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the letter of intent original text and the draft sentence from the hypothetical sample. Compare "has signed a formal contract" against the original text "this letter of intent is valid until March 31, 2026." The condition is met when the citation array returns that letter of intent passage and the draft sentence is marked unsupported. Expected to behave this way; not actually tested.
  2. Input the pending request "confirm that this store's lease contract has taken effect and that renovation approval has been granted." Compare "has taken effect" and "approval has been granted" in the request against the intent status and budget amount recorded in the original text. The condition is met when the output preserves the evidence gap and records the item as pending verification, without issuing an effectiveness or approval conclusion. Expected to behave this way; not actually tested.
  3. Input the paper empty result []. Compare whether downstream nodes accept the empty citation. The condition is met when the path continues executing and produces no error assertion. Expected to behave this way; not actually tested.

This page addresses only chain headquarters site selection and store opening, contract and transaction material comparison, and citation sources and tracing. At operational handover, which materials, operations, or requests sit at which authorization state must be kept separate; retrieval or a form is not authorization execution.
