What the documents look like
Douyin storefront shelf operations run on product cards and store experience scores, separate from the pacing of a single livestream session. In this category the working documents are product qualification pages, experience score details, shipping violation appeals, and store announcements. The supplied brief records a daily update frequency and a per-order frequency for shipping records. This page does not derive batch synchronization, real-time triggers, or full refresh mechanisms from those two frequencies.
For storefront service and internal training, staff explain product qualifications, experience score changes, and appeal progress to customers. Training material has to anchor each of those explanations to a traceable source. The citation tracing step is where that anchoring is checked: each outward statement must point back to a specific document, and the check has to respect what the source text actually records.
Constraints at the citation tracing step
The knowledge base search node can associate one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model. Its output is a citation array, and the length may be zero, which means the output path still runs even when nothing is retrieved. The citation cap is measured in tokens. The minimum relevance value takes effect only under semantic retrieval or result reranking. Both are filtering and trimming settings; neither carries permission or entity isolation. Retrieval itself is not authorization. Forms collect values, and business verification, approval, database writes, and external synchronization each need their own downstream implementation.
Hypothetical paper exercise: a store training lead prepares an internal question-and-answer draft. The material supplied for checking reads: "The store product qualification page is in a pending review state at this stage; the review result is subject to the platform page display." and "The shipping violation appeal for this order has been submitted and is currently in a pending state." The sentence proposed for assessment reads: "The store product qualification has passed review and the appeal has been fully processed." The source states only pending review and pending handling. The proposed sentence turns two unfinished states into completed ones, and evidence of review passage and appeal closure is absent. The assessment does not hold and should be recorded as unsupported.
Configuration and implementation checks
The configuration below stays with the exercise above and lists only documented settings or implementation check items relevant to this feature. The values are hypothetical starting points for this exercise, used for comparison, and are not official default values.
| Configuration item | Hypothetical starting point for this exercise | Reason and comparison object |
|---|---|---|
| Associated knowledge bases | Include only the product qualification and appeal document libraries whose vector model identifiers match | Libraries with different vector models cannot be associated together; check identifiers first and exclude non-matching ones |
| Search mode | Hybrid retrieval | Qualification and appeal states contain identifier-like terms; semantic recall is merged through RRF |
| Minimum relevance | Hypothetical starting point 0.5 | Compare against the proposed assessment sentence and observe whether the pending-review source text is still recalled |
| Citation cap | Hypothetical starting point 2000 tokens | Compare against the length of the qualification page and appeal record fragments so subject and state fields are not truncated |
| Question optimization | Not enabled for now | The exercise question has a complete subject; enabling it adds one model call and latency |
| Result reranking | Enabled per settings when a rerank model is available | The rerank score is 0-1 and can be used for filtering together with minimum relevance |
Three common errors
- Treating minimum relevance as a permission or entity filter. The value is a similarity threshold and does not exclude unrelated businesses or unauthorized records. Retrieved results still need item-by-item checking of source and access rights.
- Reading pending review and pending handling as completed. The source text records only two intermediate states, while the proposed sentence writes review passage and appeal closure, which replaces the value of the same field. The assessment does not hold.
- Treating the retrieval output directly as an outward conclusion. The citation array length may be zero, and an empty array only means nothing was recalled this time. Downstream answers and outward publication still require manual checking of the source text and its effective version.
How to verify the setup
- Input the exercise source text and the proposed assessment sentence, then compare whether "pending review" and "pending handling" against "has passed review" and "has been fully processed" share the same subject, the same period, and the same field. Record a contradiction only when the same field holds mutually exclusive values. In this exercise, record the result as unsupported.
- Use a paper input of an empty array to check the downstream design, and observe whether the answer step handles zero citations and indicates a missing source. Do not assume that a fabricated rule will make retrieval return an empty array.
- Check the vector model identifiers of the selected knowledge bases, exclude non-matching ones, and only then run retrieval. Record the correspondence between actually recalled fragments and the source text. Fields not stated in the documents remain unknown, and no authorization or effective clause is supplied to fill the gap.
