B2B marketplaces: citation tracing for operating reviews

Review citation tracing for operating reviews in B2B marketplaces. Check document scope, failure paths and source evidence through controlled tests.

What the documents look like

B2B marketplace matching operates on enterprise verification records, request-for-quotation and quotation sheets, electronic contracts, and platform settlement statements. Compared with wholesale market stall transactions, online certification and electronic contracts appear more frequently, and the workflow does not depend on a physical stall. That difference shapes citation tracing directly. Every transaction line in an operating report needs to point back to the verified entity, the quotation record, and the contract text that support it, and the disputed points in an exception review concentrate on those written materials. Documented data sources include the B2B platform, the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System, payment records, and logistics traces. The stated update frequency is daily and per order. This page addresses citation sources and tracing only; it does not derive batch synchronization or transaction-triggered mechanisms from that frequency.

The three most time-consuming stages are verifying enterprise identity, matching quotations, and tracking performance. Those are exactly the points where citations tend to break. A report line that cannot be traced to a verified entity, a dated quotation, or a signed contract cannot be defended in an exception review, and the review cannot substitute a fluent narrative for the underlying document.

Constraints at the citation tracing step

The knowledge base search node can select one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model, and it outputs cited content as an array whose length may be zero. Even when no content is found, that output path still completes. An empty array does not mean the workflow has errored and stopped. The retrieval output then goes to the answering stage, where each answer statement is checked against the cited source text.

Semantic search, full-text search, hybrid search, and reranking are optional paths. Hybrid search merges multiple result streams through RRF. Reranking requires a model and must be enabled in the configuration. Image retrieval requires image input and model capability. The minimum relevance value is a filter threshold and applies only under semantic search or reranking; it does not perform entity, permission, or subject isolation. The retrieval scope should first be checked against the selected knowledge bases and the document version. Only knowledge bases sharing the same vector model can be associated together. Cross-model association is not permitted; the check is to verify identifiers, exclude non-matching bases, and record what is actually observed, without running cross-model retrieval to compare missed recalls. Retrieval and forms do not constitute authorization to execute.

Hypothetical paper exercise sample: the source text reads, "Party A: a certain equipment manufacturing company; Party B: a certain trading company. Quotation sheet number A-001, valid until March 31, 2025. The two parties signed an electronic contract on March 10, 2025, agreeing to an initial delivery quantity of 100 units, with settlement based on the platform settlement statement." The proposed draft sentence under review is: "The contract has taken effect, the initial 100 units have been delivered, and the amount can be counted in this period's operating report." The source text records only the signing date and the agreed quantity. It does not record an effectiveness clause, an actual delivery record, or a completed settlement status. The draft sentence is not supported. If a separate handover request states, "Please use quotation sheet A-001 as the basis for this period's transaction," that request remains pending review and does not constitute authorization.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration or check itemHypothetical trial starting pointReason and comparison method
Associated knowledge basesTwo bases sharing the same vector modelThe documents state that only bases with the same vector model can be associated; verify identifiers first and exclude non-matching bases
Search modeHybrid searchNumbered queries suit full-text recall while semantic recall covers natural-language phrasing; observe the citation order after RRF merging
Result rerankingEnabledThe documents state reranking produces a 0-1 score and can filter by that score; compare against the candidate order without reranking
Citation token limitSet to cover the full sample contract textThe documents control the citation limit by tokens; set the starting point by sample length and compare against citation completeness after truncation
Minimum relevanceHypothetical trial starting point 0.3The documents state this value applies only under semantic search or reranking; compare candidate counts before and after filtering
Citation display checkCompare each answer statement against the cited source textUse the sample source text to check subject, object, and date range; do not substitute answer fluency for source evidence

Three common errors

  1. Treating signing as contract effectiveness. The sample source text states only that an electronic contract was signed on March 10, 2025. It records no effectiveness clause or effective date, so the draft sentence "the contract has taken effect" is not supported.
  2. Treating an agreed quantity as actual delivery. The source text states an agreed initial delivery quantity of 100 units. That is a contract term, not a delivery record. The draft sentence "the initial 100 units have been delivered" lacks logistics trace or settlement statement support.
  3. Treating a pending request as authorized execution. The handover request "please use quotation sheet A-001 as the basis for this period's transaction" is pending review. Pending review does not demonstrate a lack of operating authority, and it does not constitute approval.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the sample source text and the draft sentence. Compare whether "signed" and "agreed quantity" refer to the same subject, the same period, and the same field as "taken effect" and "delivered." Judge a contradiction only when the source text contains an explicitly mutually exclusive value for the same field. Otherwise record the statement as unsupported or pending verification.
  2. Input the full sample contract text and compare the citation array content before and after token-limit truncation. If the answer reaches a conclusion about effectiveness or delivery that the source text does not record, that citation does not satisfy the condition and the source must be rechecked.
  3. Input an explicit paper empty array [] and check whether the downstream design completes the output path as the documents describe. Do not claim that a fictional rule retrieval necessarily returns []. Observe only whether an empty result is misread as an error termination.

This page addresses only B2B marketplace matching, operating reports and exception reviews, and citation sources and tracing. Whether materials, operations, or requests in an operational handover are authorized cannot be inferred from retrieval or from a form.
