Trade and FX administration: HTTP integrations for operating reviews

Review HTTP integrations for operating reviews in Trade and FX administration. Check input mappings, source evidence and failure handling before use.

What the documents look like

Foreign-exchange receipt, settlement, and trade-directory records are organized around the authenticity of FX funds and the underlying trade background. They do not involve reviewing a full set of letter-of-credit documents. The main sources are State Administration of Foreign Exchange policy, bank online portals, corporate finance ledgers, and customs export data. The documents handled day to day are receipt advices, trade contracts, invoices, and FX business registration materials. Update frequency is per transaction and monthly.

For operating reports and anomaly review, the receipt party, amount, contract, and registration status must be aligned on the same fields. An HTTP integration step takes the data returned by an external system and brings it into that reconciliation. The integration itself does not decide whether funds may be credited, whether a registration is valid, or whether settlement is authorized.

Constraints at the HTTP integrations step

The HTTP module sends a request to a specified address. Params carry path parameters and are common in GET requests. Body carries the request payload and is common in POST/PUT requests. Headers carry special information. All three can reference variables through {{}}, and the URL can also reference variables. Variables come from global variables, system variables, and outputs of upstream nodes.

Return values are not the interface response itself. They define how to parse the interface response. Extraction uses JSON path syntax or the JS object access rules. When the output type is set to string, the value at the corresponding key is converted into a JSON string. This allows the value to be passed downstream, for example into text processing.

Among system variables, chatId and responseChatItemId do not exist in test mode. A blank value read during debugging is an environment difference, not a business fault. When calling the chat completions interface, fields such as model and temperature have no effect; these are determined by the orchestration. The interface does not return the actual consumed Token value. Setting detail=true allows manual calculation from the tokens value inside responseData.

Retrieval results, similarity scores, and quote lists are retrieval outputs. They do not constitute business authorization. Whether an external system permits crediting, registration, or settlement requires separate confirmation. Forms collect values; business verification, approval, database writes, and external synchronization require their stated downstream implementation.

Configuration and implementation checks

Hypothetical drill sample: A finance staff member at a foreign-trade enterprise holds a receipt advice showing payer as overseas buyer A, payee as the enterprise, amount USD 50,000, dated 10 March 2025. A trade contract numbered HT-2025-031 has the same parties and the same amount of USD 50,000. The proposed handover request sentence is: "Please handle FX settlement and register the trade directory based on the receipt advice and contract." This sentence does not state settlement authorization or registration authority, so it remains a request pending verification.

Configuration itemHypothetical starting point for this drillHow to check
Request address and methodAddress and GET/POST per the external interface documentCheck whether the address references a provided variable and whether the method matches the interface contract
Headers authenticationAuthorization injected through secure configurationCheck that credentials are not written into public samples and that variable reference names match the configuration
Body structureJSON filled only under POST/PUTCompare each field against the external interface contract; string references need quotation marks
Return value extraction keyJSON path configured per the interface response structureUse detail=true to view responseData and confirm the value path
Variable sourceGlobal variables, system variables, upstream node outputsCheck each actual passed value; confirm chatId does not exist in test mode
Output typeString or objectString converts the key value to a JSON string; check whether downstream text processing can parse it

Three common errors

  1. Treating retrieval results or similarity as business authorization. The returned quote list and score are retrieval outputs and do not constitute permission for settlement, registration, or crediting. Check method: input the receipt advice and contract above, compare whether the returned content is directly used as a basis for processing, and observe whether an unconfirmed authorization conclusion appears.
  2. Treating an empty chatId in test mode as a business fault. The system variable description states that chatId and responseChatItemId do not exist in test mode. Check method: initiate a request in test mode, compare the returned chatId field with a formal session record, and observe whether the blank value is misjudged as an interface exception.
  3. Treating values collected by a form as a completed business action. The interactive node inputForm only collects user input; business verification, approval, and database writes require downstream implementation. Check method: input the proposed handover request sentence above, compare the form return value with the actual business state, and observe whether the act of filling is treated as completed settlement or registration.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the receipt advice and contract text above, compare whether the proposed handover request sentence states settlement authorization and registration authority, and observe whether it remains a request pending verification without fabricated authorization clauses.
  2. Initiate a request in test mode, compare the values of the system variables chatId and responseChatItemId, and observe whether they are recorded as not existing in test mode rather than treated as a business fault.
  3. Configure detail=true and view responseData, compare the tokens field with the usage return value, and observe whether consumption can be manually calculated without treating ineffective fields such as model and temperature as active parameters.
