What the documents look like
Short-video affiliate distribution relies on long-term content exposure and product-link conversion rather than live explanation. A script and its attached product link keep producing playback and transaction records after publication, so the same video can be cited across more than one reporting period. Operating reports and exception reviews therefore need to hold four document types inside one evidence chain: short-video scripts, attached-product lists, commission plans, and violation feedback. Industry material indicates daily and weekly data updates; this page does not derive batch synchronization or real-time mechanisms from that frequency.
The practical consequence for citation tracing is version awareness. When a report states a conclusion about a video, the underlying citation should identify which version of the script, which product list, and which violation-feedback entry the conclusion rests on. Retrieval supplies evidence; it does not supply authorization, and it does not mean a commission plan has taken effect or that a violation has been handled.
Constraints at the citation tracing step
The knowledge-base search node accepts one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model, and outputs cited content as an array whose length may be zero. A zero-length array means no content was retrieved; the output path still completes. An empty array is not the same as a workflow error or termination.
Retrieval output is passed to the answering step, where each answer is checked against the cited original text. The citation limit is measured in tokens. The minimum relevance value takes effect only under semantic search or result re-ranking, and neither setting performs permission or entity isolation. Re-ranking produces a 0–1 score describing relevance between retrieved content and the question; that score is not a category, entity, or permission filter, and it does not exclude unrelated businesses or unauthorized records.
Hypothetical paper exercise. Source text supplied for checking: "March 2025 version, Attached-Product List, row 7: Product A, attachment status listed, applicable commission plan number C-03." "March 10, 2025, Violation Feedback record: video V-12 title contains a restricted term, handling status pending review." Proposed sentence to be judged: "Video V-12 has completed rectification and restored its product attachment." The subject required for judgment is video V-12, the period is March 2025, and the field is handling status. The source text records only pending review; the completed rectification and restored attachment asserted in the draft are not supported.
Configuration and implementation checks
The table below lists documented settings or implementation checks relevant to this page's task, tied to the hypothetical sample. Numeric values are starting points for this paper comparison only and are not official defaults.
| Configuration or check item | Hypothetical starting point for this exercise | Reason for the choice and comparison object |
|---|---|---|
| Associated knowledge base | Select one knowledge base sharing the same vector model | Documentation requires the same vector model before knowledge bases can be associated together; compare against a knowledge base identifier using a different vector model and exclude it |
| Search mode | Semantic search | The sample question is a natural-language description; compare against full-text search, which suits exact matching of numbers and models |
| Citation limit | Set to a token amount that can hold the two sample source sentences | Documentation controls the citation limit by tokens; compare against the actual length of the sample source text |
| Minimum relevance | Hypothetical starting point 0.5 for this exercise | Documentation states the value takes effect only under semantic search or result re-ranking; compare against the score of the sample source text after retrieval |
| Cited-content output | Check whether the output array contains the sample source text | Documentation states the length may be zero; compare against a paper-constructed empty array and the downstream handling design |
| Document-version check | Use the March 2025 list and the March 10 feedback | Documentation requires checking the document version; compare against historical version text |
Three common errors
- Treating pending review as completed rectification. Input: the violation feedback in the sample recording handling status as pending review. Comparison: the proposed sentence stating that rectification is complete and the attachment restored. Observable result: the status asserted in the draft has no corresponding field value in the source text. Record it as unsupported.
- Treating an empty citation array as workflow failure. Input: a paper-constructed empty array. Comparison: the documented statement that the length may be zero and the output path still completes. Observable result: a downstream design that terminates with an error on an empty array conflicts with the documented behavior. Check the downstream handling design.
- Treating minimum relevance as a permission filter. Input: the minimum relevance setting value. Comparison: the documented statement that the value filters low-relevance results only. Observable result: the setting cannot exclude unauthorized records. Check access permissions separately.
How to verify the setup
- Input the two sample source sentences and the proposed sentence. Compare the field value asserted in the draft against the handling-status field in the source text. If the source records only pending review and the draft claims completed rectification, judge the claim unsupported and record the evidence gap.
- Input a paper-constructed empty array. Compare whether the downstream node completes the output path as documented. If the downstream design terminates with an error, that conflicts with the documented behavior, and the handling design needs review.
- Input sample video V-12 and product A. Compare whether the citation output contains the corresponding source text. If the citation array does not contain that source text, record it as a miss for this retrieval run, without asserting that the source text does not exist.
These checks observe and record; they do not guarantee a first-item hit, full recall, or an empty result for unrelated queries. The optional paths in the overall retrieval flow are not all executed on every request: image retrieval requires corresponding image input and model capability, and re-ranking requires a re-ranking model enabled by configuration. Knowledge bases using different vector models cannot be associated together; verify identifiers and exclude non-matching ones rather than running cross-model retrieval to compare missed recall.
