Omnichannel stock transfers: citation tracing for multilingual work

Review citation tracing for multilingual work in Omnichannel stock transfers. Check sources, input boundaries, error handling and repeatable test evidence.

What the documents look like

Omnichannel stock transfers move goods between stores and warehouses. The working materials are transfer requests, stock snapshots, store shortage lists and transfer logistics notes. These documents travel across languages and regions, so a retrieval result has to point back to the original text before it can support approval or reconciliation between records and physical stock. The brief places updates at a daily and weekly rhythm. That rhythm affects how a version is checked during citation tracing. It does not justify batch synchronization, full synchronization, real-time triggering or transaction-triggered behaviour, and this page does not describe any of those.

The distinguishing feature of this category, compared with private-domain member operations, is that the work concerns goods moving between stores and warehouses. Marketing outreach is outside this scope. The main data sources are ERP inventory, store POS, e-commerce orders and WMS. The typical operators are brand retail supply chain staff, store inventory keepers and e-commerce warehouse staff. Errors produce overselling, store stockouts and mismatches between records and physical stock.

For citation tracing, the material identity matters. A transfer request carries a request identifier, an origin, a destination, a quantity and a status. A transfer logistics note carries its own logistics identifier, a reference to the request, a dispatch date, a dispatched quantity and a signature field. A stock snapshot and a store shortage list describe quantities at a point in time. A retrieved citation is useful only when the reader can return to the specific document version and field that the statement depends on.

Constraints at the citation tracing step

The knowledge base search node outputs cited content as an array, and the length can be zero. A zero-length array means the output path still completes; it does not mean the workflow terminated with an error. The citation limit is measured in tokens. The minimum relevance value takes effect only during semantic retrieval or when result re-ranking is used. A similarity score does not perform permission filtering or entity isolation, and a retrieval result is not an authorization credential.

Only knowledge bases that share the same vector model can be associated together. When two knowledge base identifiers correspond to different vector models, the identifier is checked first and the non-matching base is excluded. No cross-model retrieval is executed for comparison, and no runtime outcome is asserted for a cross-model association.

Mixed retrieval combines semantic and full-text recall through RRF, which is a fusion step in the pipeline rather than a switch. Re-ranking requires a re-rank model and must be enabled according to its settings. Image retrieval requires an image input and the corresponding model capability. The optional paths shown in the overall retrieval diagram are not executed on every request.

Hypothetical paper exercise sample. A store shortage list states: "Transfer request T-203 was submitted on 10 March 2026, requesting 40 items from warehouse A to store B, status pending review." A transfer logistics note states: "Logistics note L-88 corresponds to transfer request T-203, dispatched 40 items on 12 March 2026, signature field blank." A draft sentence awaiting judgement states: "T-203 has completed the transfer and been signed for." Comparing the draft sentence with the source texts: the request status is pending review, and the signature field is blank. The completion and signature claims in the draft sentence are not supported.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration or check itemHypothetical starting point for this exerciseBasis and comparison method
Associated knowledge basesTwo knowledge bases sharing one vector modelThe documentation requires the same vector model for joint association; compare against a cross-model base identifier and exclude the non-matching base
Search modeMixed retrievalThe documentation states that mixed retrieval fuses semantic and full-text results through RRF
Result re-rankingEnabledThe documentation states that re-rank scores can be used for filtering; compare against candidate ordering without re-ranking
Minimum relevance0.5 as the starting value for this exerciseThe documentation states this value takes effect only during semantic retrieval or re-ranking; compare against a 0.3 value for recall scope
Citation limit2000 tokens as the starting value for this exerciseThe documentation states the citation amount is controlled in tokens; compare against a 1000-token result
Cited content outputAccepted as an array, zero length allowedThe documentation states a zero-length array still completes the path; check against the downstream design for handling a zero-length array

Three common errors

  1. Treating a pending-review request as a completed transfer. Input the T-203 source text and the draft sentence, compare the request status field and the signature field, and note that the two values differ.
  2. Treating a similarity score as a permission filter. Input a knowledge base containing records outside the authorized scope, compare the returned citations against the authorization list, and note any record outside that list.
  3. Associating knowledge bases with different vector models. Input two knowledge base identifiers with different vector models, compare the model identifiers, and exclude the non-matching base without executing a retrieval comparison.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the sample source text and the draft sentence "T-203 has completed the transfer and been signed for." Compare the request status "pending review" and the blank signature field against the draft sentence. The draft sentence is not supported by the source text.
  2. Input the logistics note L-88 source text. Compare the dispatch date and quantity fields against the 40 items in request T-203. A match supports the dispatch fact only; the signature remains to be verified.
  3. Input an empty array [] as a paper test of downstream handling. Compare how the downstream node processes a zero-length citation. The path completing without an error matches the documented behaviour. Whether a retrieval actually returns an empty array remains subject to the actual retrieval result.

This page addresses only omnichannel stock transfers, cross-border materials and multilingual retrieval, and citation tracing. During operational handover, the authorization state of materials, operations and requests must be established separately. Retrieval and forms are not authorization, and an approval, a database write or an external synchronization requires its own downstream implementation.
