What the documents look like
Group-buy leader operations manage community nodes and commission arrangements. The work does not include cold-chain quality inspection. Daily documents concentrate on leader agreements, commission tables, pickup lists and community announcements. These materials update daily or per group.
For cross-border materials and multilingual retrieval, one document can exist in several language versions, and several versions can coexist. Citation tracing requires every answer to point back to a specific document and a specific version. Checking the currency of the cited material becomes the main risk at this step.
A leader agreement in Chinese and a commission table in English can carry different dates, different version labels and different effective ranges. Retrieval can return both. The answer stage then has to compare each sentence against the cited original text. A retrieved passage shows what the knowledge base holds, not what has been signed, approved or settled.
Constraints at the citation tracing step
The knowledge base search node can associate one or more knowledge bases that use the same vector model. Its output is an array of references, and the length can be zero. An empty array means the output link still runs; it does not mean the workflow has errored out. The retrieval result is handed to the answering step, where each answer sentence is checked against the cited original text.
The minimum relevance value is a filter threshold that applies only under semantic retrieval or when result re-ranking is used. It does not act as a permission filter or an entity isolation control. Knowledge bases with different vector models cannot be associated together. Check the identifiers first, exclude those that do not match, and record what is observed. Do not infer run-time behaviour for a cross-model association.
Hypothetical paper exercise. On 10 June 2025 a platform leader BD received a Leader Agreement (Chinese version) stating: "This agreement takes effect on the date both parties sign, and remains valid until 31 December 2025." On the same day the BD received a Commission Table (English version) marked "Version 2025-06, effective 2025-06-01." A draft sentence is under review: "The leader agreement is already in effect, and commission follows the English version."
The subjects for judgement are the leader BD and the platform. The objects are the agreement and the commission table. The states are signing and taking effect. The valid scope is 10 June 2025 to 31 December 2025. The Chinese agreement does not state a signing date, so the phrase "already in effect" in the draft lacks supporting evidence and the gap must be recorded.
Configuration and implementation checks
The table below covers the hypothetical exercise and lists documented settings or implementation checks tied to this page's documents.
| Configuration item | Hypothetical starting point for this exercise | Reason and comparison method |
|---|---|---|
| Associated knowledge bases | Leader agreement base, commission table base | Both bases must use the same vector model to be associated; check identifiers first and exclude mismatches |
| Search mode | Hybrid retrieval | Version numbers and exact labels suit full-text retrieval; natural-language questions suit semantic retrieval |
| Minimum relevance | 0.5 | Hypothetical trial starting point, not a default; compare with 0.3 and 0.7 and observe how the number of references changes after filtering |
| Reference limit | 2000 tokens | Hypothetical trial starting point, not a default; compare with 1000 and 4000 and observe reference coverage |
| Question optimization | On | Completes references in follow-up turns; compare retrieval hits with the off state |
| Result re-ranking | On | Second-pass ordering when candidates are numerous; compare reference ordering with the off state |
The reference limit uses the documented unit of tokens, not a guessed item count. RRF is the fusion step for mixed results and is not written as a toggle. The thinking budget is a reasoning budget and is not reused as a reference token limit. Image retrieval requires image input and matching model capability; re-ranking requires a model and must be enabled by the setting. Optional paths in the overall flow diagram do not all run on every request.
Three common errors
- Treating retrieval output as authorization to act. In the exercise, the Chinese agreement does not state a signing date, and the draft says "already in effect." The check takes the agreement text and the draft sentence as input, compares whether the agreement states a signing date, and records that the draft is unsupported when the original does not state one.
- Treating minimum relevance as a permission filter. In the exercise, the leader agreement and the commission table sit in different bases. Raising relevance does not exclude unrelated business records. The check takes the same query at different relevance values, compares whether the reference list still contains non-target documents, and observes that relevance changes ordering and filtered volume only.
- Writing a pending state as completed. In the exercise, the commission table is marked "effective 2025-06-01." A draft saying "commission has been settled under the English version" treats an effective date as completed settlement. The check takes the commission table text and the draft sentence as input, compares whether the original states a settlement action, and records the item as pending verification when it does not.
How to verify the setup
- Take the Chinese agreement text from the exercise and the draft sentence "The leader agreement is already in effect." Compare whether the agreement states a signing date and an effective condition. If the original does not state a signing date, the draft does not meet the condition, and the evidence gap is recorded.
- Take the English commission table text from the exercise and the draft sentence "Commission follows the English version." Compare whether the original states an executing party and an execution period. If the original states only an effective date, the draft does not meet the condition and is marked pending verification.
- Feed an empty reference array [] and check whether the downstream answering step handles it as an empty result. If the downstream step still outputs a citation source, the handling design does not cover the empty-array branch, and that observation is recorded. This is a paper input for checking downstream design; it does not assert that a constructed rule returns [].
These checks state expected conditions without claiming that any test has been run. Retrieval is not authorization. Forms collect values; business verification, approval, database writes and external synchronization each need their stated downstream implementation.
