Amazon FBM fulfillment: conversation logs for after-sales questions

Review conversation logs for after-sales questions in Amazon FBM fulfillment. Check sources, input boundaries, error handling and repeatable test evidence.

What the documents look like

FBM fulfillment and after-sales work sits with the seller. The seller chooses the carrier, confirms the tracking number, and maintains the return address, so platform warehouse inspection is not part of the flow. Conversation logs and audit records therefore need to carry reconciliation clues for four material types at once: the order picking list, the shipment confirmation, the return address setting, and the logistics tracking sheet. Data sources include Amazon Seller Central, carrier systems, ERP orders, and customer service email. Updates occur per order and daily, so the smallest unit of log reconciliation is a single order. Errors can lead to order cancellation, A-to-z claims, and reduced store performance, and the completeness of retained logs affects later reconciliation and appeal evidence.

Constraints at the conversation logs step

Conversation identity needs chatId to match the target conversation against the business record, and sessions from different entry points cannot be counted together. Run detail is obtained through the detail parameter under the official contract; non-stream results are held in responseData, and stream results are separated by event. Field meaning follows what the interface actually returns, and business data that is not returned cannot be assumed to be fully retained. Identity fields in test mode and production calls can differ, so input, history, and returned content are checked separately. Reconciliation, retention, and compliance requirements are handled by the complete business plan; the presence of a log does not mean a compliance audit is finished. A retrieval result or a collected form value does not constitute authorized execution.

Hypothetical drill sample: a material text provided for checking reads "Order number 114-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX, carrier is local carrier A, tracking number entered in the logistics tracking sheet, shipment confirmation status is confirmed, return address setting is overseas warehouse B." A draft sentence to be judged reads "This order has completed shipment and entered the after-sales stage, and the return address has taken effect." The judgment compares the subject, object, status, and validity scope in the material. The material does not state when the return address takes effect or what starts the after-sales stage, so "has entered the after-sales stage" and "has taken effect" are unsupported.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration itemType/sourceDescription and check method for this page
appIdOfficial fieldApplication ID; check the application scope that owns the log
chatIdOfficial fieldConversation ID, length under 250; check the target conversation
dataIdOfficial fieldConversation record ID; check a single record
detailOfficial fieldSet to true to obtain intermediate values and complete results
sourceOfficial fieldSet to api to obtain conversations created through the API
loadCustomFeedbacksOfficial fieldRead custom feedback; enable as needed

Hypothetical starting point for this exercise: set detail to true to obtain module status and complete results in responseData, and compare against the structure returned when detail is false to confirm whether intermediate values appear.

Three common errors

  1. Merging conversations with different chatId values into one count. Input is two conversation records with different chatId values; the comparison object is the conversation list under each chatId; the observable result is that the merged total does not match the sum of the separate counts.
  2. Treating a detail=false response as a complete run detail. Input is a response with detail=false; the comparison object is whether the responseData field is present; the observable result is that the field is absent, and module execution cannot be inferred from that absence.
  3. Treating a retrieval result or a submitted form as business authorization. Input is a quoteList returned by one retrieval and the content filled into a form; the comparison object is whether an explicit authorization field or approval status exists; the observable result is that neither contains authorization information.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the material text and the draft sentence from the hypothetical sample, and compare the status description in the draft sentence against the fields stated in the material. The observable result is that "has entered the after-sales stage" has no corresponding field in the material, so the judgment is unsupported.
  2. Input two conversation records with different chatId values, and compare the conversation list under each chatId against the merged count. The observable result is that when the merged total equals the sum of the separate counts, no cross-conversation mixing occurred.
  3. Input a request with detail=true, and compare whether responseData contains module status and complete results. The observable result is that the field is present and contains module information, meaning run detail was obtained under the contract. If responseData is empty or absent, record it as not obtained and do not infer that the module did not run.
