What the documents look like
For document comparison in Shopify fulfillment, this page examines FastGPT document chunking. Compare the material received with the sources used in the answer. The examples are hypothetical.
Constraints at the document chunking step
A new proposed shipping-rule statement says, “Standard rules apply only to region A; region B needs a separate check.” Parsing should preserve the region qualification, beyond a fragment labelled standard rules. When read alongside an order for region B, inspect whether retrieved wording includes that condition before deciding what the supplied sources can answer. This is a text test without a shipping charge or an executed charge calculation. Regions A and B are scope labels in proposed text, without establishing actual delivery coverage. Focus on the written restriction. An order for region B does not itself supply a complete rule for that region or prove which general terms apply.
Configuration and implementation checks
| Item or implementation check | Input or condition | Traceable evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Original scope | Standard rules apply only to region A | Do not automatically include region B. |
| Chunk completeness | General terms exclude the customized item | Keep customization, exclusion and appendix reference. |
| Original data and indexes | Independent order and refund attachment | An index summary is not a refund decision. |
| Sample retrieval | Region and customized-return questions | Trace the respective source restrictions. |
| Post-update review | Customized-return appendix missing | Separate supplementation from parsing-loss evidence. |
Documented conditions
| Documented item / implementation check | Condition |
|---|---|
Original-document check | Compare original files with parsed output. |
Chunk completeness | Keep conditions traceable to their subjects. |
Data and indexes | Retain original-data and index evidence separately. |
Sample retrieval | Retest literal wording and natural questions. |
Post-update check | Inspect training or index state after updates. |
Three common errors
A proposed refund-record attachment adds, “Customized-item return conditions are in the appendix; general terms do not apply,” while order details identify a customized item. Keep both originals independent. Parsing cannot turn general terms into conditions already met by this order. Retrieve using the customization label and a return question, checking retention of the appendix reference and exclusion. An index summary must lead to these originals without creating an unsupported refund decision.
How to verify the setup
Without the customized-return appendix, the current source identifies a reference rather than complete conditions. Preserve that gap, obtain the applicable material and inspect parsing and processing or index state before repeating the transaction question. If the appendix existed in the original but parsing omitted it, retain its location and failed output. Distinguish that failure from rules never supplied, and avoid treating another upload record as acceptance of the recovered content.
