What the documents look like
Omnichannel stock transfers move goods between stores and warehouses. They do not handle marketing outreach, which separates this category from member and private-domain operations. The working materials are transfer requests, inventory snapshots, store shortage lists and transfer logistics notes. Their subject, object, period and status fields are not standardized across sources. A transfer request records where goods should move between a store and a warehouse. An inventory snapshot reflects the transferable quantity at one point in time. A shortage list names items awaiting replenishment. A logistics note carries the actual dispatch information.
Document comparison for contracts and transaction materials has to check whether the same subject, the same period and the same field carry consistent values across these materials. Data arrives from ERP inventory, store POS, e-commerce orders and WMS. Errors in this category produce overselling, store stockouts and book-to-physical mismatches. Tool calls and plugins determine whether the model can retrieve the right material on demand and carry out the comparison action.
Constraints at the tool calls step
A tool description tells the model what the tool is for. It should state the input conditions and the situations in which the tool should not be called. For system modules the parameters are already fixed. For plugins the parameters are configurable. The two are checked separately, and a parameter description is not treated as a guarantee of execution.
When a required parameter has no suitable value in context, the model may not call the tool. The gap is closed through interaction, and the actual request is then checked. In advanced orchestration, available tools are connected to the tool calls module, and a small number of tools is tuned first before more are added. The tool call termination node ends the current tool call; after it runs, no further tools are called and no AI summary of tool results is produced. Retrieval and similarity scores do not carry permission or entity-isolation duties. Libraries built on different vector models cannot be associated together; identifiers are checked first and non-matching records are excluded.
Hypothetical paper exercise. A brand store stock keeper submits a transfer request with this source text: "Requesting party: Store A; Receiving party: Warehouse B; Goods: Model X; Quantity: 30 units; Transfer period: 1 March 2025 to 31 March 2025; Status is pending review." The inventory snapshot for the same period reads: "Model X transferable quantity at Store A: 12 units; Snapshot time: 5 March 2025." The draft handover sentence under review is: "Store A has approved the transfer of 30 units of Model X to Warehouse B and may proceed with outbound dispatch." Points to decide: the requested quantity of 30 units and the snapshot transferable quantity of 12 units are inconsistent values on the same field in the same period; the request status is pending review and does not constitute approval.
Configuration and implementation checks
| Configuration item | Value or check on this page | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Tool description | State that inputs are transfer requests, inventory snapshots, shortage lists and logistics notes; state that the tool is not called when the matching material is absent | The description affects when the model calls the tool |
| Plugin parameters | Fill in material type and period fields item by item according to the plugin's configurable parameters | A parameter description does not guarantee execution |
| Required parameters | Set subject, object, period and field as required parameters | The model may not call the tool when no suitable value exists |
| Tool connection | Connect tools to the tool calls module in advanced orchestration, starting with a small number of tools | The description can be edited after connection |
| Tool call termination | Attach the termination node after comparison completes | After termination, no further tools and no AI summary are called |
| Hypothetical trial starting value | The quantity threshold in this exercise is set at 12 units for comparison with the requested quantity | The starting value belongs to this exercise only and is compared against the actual snapshot value |
Three common errors
- Treating pending review as approval. The input is the transfer request source text and the draft handover sentence. The comparison is the value of the status field. The observable result is that the request states pending review while the draft states approval, so the draft is unsupported.
- Using a similarity score in place of permission or entity filtering. The input is a retrieval request and the returned records. The comparison is whether each record's subject matches the target store and warehouse. The observable result is that a high-scoring record with a non-matching subject is still excluded.
- Treating the termination node as a point where calls continue. The input is a workflow with the termination node attached. The comparison is whether any further tool call or AI summary occurs after termination. The observable result is that no further call occurs.
How to verify the setup
- Verification one: input the transfer request source text and the draft handover sentence from the hypothetical exercise. Compare the requested quantity of 30 units with the snapshot transferable quantity of 12 units. The observable result is that the two values differ and the request status is pending review; when these conditions hold, the draft sentence is judged unsupported.
- Verification two: input the inventory snapshot source text and a retrieval request. Compare the subject, object and period fields of the returned records. The observable result is that a record whose subject does not match the target is excluded; when this condition holds, record the actual observation.
- Verification three: input the draft handover request and the list of available materials. Compare whether the materials the request requires appear in the list. The observable result is that a missing material is recorded as a gap, and the item remains pending verification. If the paper input is an empty list, check how the downstream design handles an empty result rather than asserting that a fictional rule search returns an empty list.
