What the documents look like
Parcel labels and handoff records sit at the point where a package leaves the warehouse. The carrier scan at that moment determines where responsibility falls, so the materials for this category are electronic waybills, handoff manifests, pickup scan records and exception item registrations. Sources include the courier system, WMS shipment data, carrier billing and GB/T express service standards. Contract and transaction material comparison for this category checks whether the same batch of parcels shows consistent subject, object and status across the waybill, the manifest and the scan record. Data updates per batch and per day, which means a chunked document set may be replaced several times within one day; parsed results must be able to point back to the batch and version of the original text. Waybill numbers, handoff manifest numbers, scan timestamps and pickup network names are exact identifier content suited to full-text retrieval. Exception item descriptions and responsibility notes are natural language content suited to semantic retrieval.
Constraints at the document chunking step
Chunking must preserve the binding between a waybill number and its corresponding handoff manifest line, so that a condition statement and the parcel it constrains are not split into separate data chunks. One group of original data can map to several indexes; a waybill image and scan record text can each carry their own index, and a hit on any one index recalls that group of data. Semantic recall and relevance scores reflect content similarity only; they do not perform permission or entity isolation, and a retrieval hit does not mean the material has been authorized for comparison. Image retrieval requires that an image index was built at ingestion time and that the current vector model supports image input or a vision model is configured; otherwise the image path does not participate in recall.
Hypothetical drill sample: a warehouse shipment batch A, with a handoff manifest dated 3 June 2024 stating "waybill numbers SF0001 to SF0050, 50 pieces total, handed to carrier network B, handler Zhao." The pickup scan record for the same day shows "SF0001 to SF0048 scanned, SF0049 and SF0050 not scanned." The exception item registration states "SF0049 outer packaging damaged, held pending handling." The draft sentence to be judged is "All 50 pieces in this batch were picked up and completed by carrier B." The original text contains the subject (warehouse, carrier B), the object (SF0001 to SF0050), the status (48 scanned, 2 not scanned, 1 damaged and held) and the effective scope (the 3 June 2024 handoff manifest). The draft sentence and the original text disagree on the status "all picked up and completed."
Configuration and implementation checks
The following items concern this sample only and list documented settings or implementation checks relevant to this feature and the primary task.
| Configuration item | Value or check action on this page | Basis or note |
|---|---|---|
| Search mode | Hybrid retrieval | Waybill numbers need exact hits and exception descriptions need semantic recall; the official text states hybrid retrieval merges both paths through RRF |
| Reference limit | Hypothetical trial starting point of 2000 tokens for this exercise | The batch material holds three documents (manifest, scan record, exception registration) and must hold complete passages; comparing with 1000 tokens shows whether the manifest tail is truncated |
| Minimum relevance | Hypothetical trial starting point of 0.3 for this exercise | Used to filter low-relevance fragments; the value takes effect only under semantic retrieval or result reranking, and comparing with 0.5 shows whether the exception description is filtered out |
| Result reranking | ReRank enabled per configuration | The official text states reranking reorders candidate text and yields a 0-1 score usable for filtering |
| Question optimization | Enabled for multi-turn follow-up scenarios | The official text states question optimization adds one model call before retrieval; a single clear question can be decided by actual effect |
| Data chunking | Segment by binding waybill number to manifest line | The official text states one group of data can map to several indexes, so a condition and the content it constrains must not be separated |
Three common errors
- Treating a retrieval hit as authorized execution. Input "is SF0049 picked up," and retrieval returns the exception registration fragment, which states only that the item is damaged and held; it is not evidence of completed pickup or authorized release. The comparison object is the status field for SF0049 in the scan record, and the observed result is that no scanned record appears for that field.
- Treating a pending-review status as already effective. If the handoff manifest carries the wording "pending carrier confirmation," that status means a request has been raised and does not mean the carrier has confirmed. The comparison objects are the manifest signature field and the scan record timestamp, and the observed result is an empty signature field or a missing scan record.
- Associating libraries built on different vector models. The official text states that libraries on different vector models cannot be associated together; the check is to verify the identifier first and exclude those that do not match, recording the actual observation without inferring recall results after association.
How to verify the setup
The three checks below use the hypothetical drill sample above and state input, comparison and satisfaction condition for each; all are paper expectations and were not executed.
- Input waybill number SF0049 and observe the returned fragments under hybrid retrieval. Compare whether the returned content includes "outer packaging damaged, held pending handling" from the exception registration and the absence of a scan timestamp for SF0049 in the scan record. The condition is satisfied when the returned fragments contain both pieces of information and the wording "picked up" does not appear.
- Input the draft sentence "All 50 pieces in this batch were picked up and completed by carrier B" and compare it against the fields of the handoff manifest, scan record and exception registration. The condition is satisfied when the comparison identifies that the scan record shows only 48 scanned pieces and the exception registration shows SF0049 held, and judges the draft sentence unsupported.
- Input an empty-result scenario, using the explicit paper input [] to check the downstream design. Compare whether the downstream flow stops generating a conclusion when no reference content exists. The condition is satisfied when the downstream design explicitly states that no comparison conclusion is output on empty references; this is a paper check item and does not claim that a fabricated rule returns [].
This feature has verified public technical facts for identifying related content in documents; the body is written independently and does not copy them as a fixed five-row table: original material verification keeps document identity and version that can point back to the source; segmentation completeness checks passages against the specific material structure so conditions, notes and the content they constrain are not separated; data and index distinguishes original data from retrieval indexes, and one group of original data can map to several indexes; sample retrieval uses terms, numbers and natural language separately to check how segmentation affects real questions; post-update review checks actual training and index status after a material change, and upload success is not treated as retrieval already updated.
