What the documents look like
Refund-only dispute handling centres on four document families: the refund-only application, the shipment evidence, the delivery signature proof, and the appeal material. Compared with ordinary return-and-refund cases, a refund-only dispute frequently has no returned parcel entering the warehouse, so the evidential weight sits on shipment, signature and item value rather than on inbound inspection. Data sources named in the brief are the platform after-sales backend, carrier tracking, customer-service chat, and warehouse outbound records. The brief gives update frequency as per order and daily.
For database and operations work, the practical consequence is that the shipment evidence and the delivery signature proof come from different systems and are not guaranteed to align on time or on the party named. The database can present only the fields that were entered. It cannot decide whether the evidence is sufficient, and it cannot convert a carrier tracking record into a warehouse fact.
Constraints at the database operations step
Connection and cache settings are checked against the chosen deployment plan. A configuration value is not inferred from the variable name. The business data store and the vector retrieval backend have different responsibilities, so each is checked against the service actually deployed. Connection and load behaviour is observed against the system's own traffic; an untested concurrency threshold is not carried over from another environment. Backup and restore are verified as two separate events, one for backup generation and one for an actual restore, with a retained sample and record that can be re-checked. After a database or service configuration change, the same business sample is inspected again; a live process is not sufficient evidence on its own.
Hypothetical drill sample. The source material reads: "After-sales order A-001. The buyer submitted a refund-only application on 2 March, stating that the goods were not received. The warehouse outbound record shows the goods were handed to the carrier on 1 March. The carrier tracking record shows delivery was signed for on 3 March, and the signing party name is recorded as 'front desk, signed on behalf'." The draft sentence awaiting review reads: "This refund-only application lacks delivery signature proof and should be judged as goods not received." In this sample the parties are the buyer and the warehouse, the object is after-sales order A-001, the state is shipped with tracking showing a signature, and the effective range is 1 March to 3 March. The draft sentence and the source material take mutually exclusive values on the single field "whether delivery signature proof exists". That is a same-field contradiction, and the draft sentence is not supported by the source material.
Configuration and implementation checks
The values below are hypothetical starting points for this drill, chosen so that an operator has something to compare against. They are not official defaults, and they are not claimed to have been tested.
| Configuration item | Hypothetical starting point for this drill | Reason and comparison method |
|---|---|---|
DB_MAX_LINK | 10 | The documentation states the value is automatically limited to the 10–1000 range; the starting point takes the lower bound and is compared against the observed connection peak |
SYNC_INDEX | true | The documentation states missing MongoDB indexes are created at startup and explicitly declared obsolete indexes are cleaned; when enabled, compare against the index inventory |
MONGODB_URI | local example address | The documentation supplies an example address; compare against the actual address of the main business database |
MONGODB_LOG_URI | same as the main database example address | The documentation states the main database is reused when this is not configured; compare against the actual log database address |
REDIS_URL | documented example address | The documentation supplies an example address; compare against the actual cache instance address |
LOG_ENABLE_CONSOLE | true | Documented value; compare against the observed console log output |
These items are tied to the drill sample only in the sense that the sample's shipment and signature records are read through the main business database, and the review report is assembled from queries against it. Nothing in the table authorises a business decision about order A-001.
Three common errors
- Writing the draft sentence "this refund-only application lacks delivery signature proof" into the report without comparing it to the source material line "the carrier tracking record shows delivery was signed for on 3 March". Input: the draft sentence and the source material. Comparison: the field "whether delivery signature proof exists". Observable result: the two take mutually exclusive values, so the draft sentence is not supported.
- Treating retrieval or form submission as an authorisation to execute. Input: a pending handover request. Comparison: the request state against the authorisation state. Observable result: the request sits in pending review while authorisation is not complete, so the action is not executed.
- Checking only whether the process is alive after a database configuration change. Input: the same business sample before and after the change. Comparison: the query result for that sample. Observable result: whether the sample fields are consistent. Process liveness alone does not show this.
How to verify the setup
- Take the source material and the draft sentence from the drill sample. Compare the field "whether delivery signature proof exists". If the two values are mutually exclusive, the draft sentence is not supported by the material. This is an expected outcome of the comparison, not a completed test.
- Take the pending handover request. Compare the request state with the authorisation state. If the request is in pending review, authorisation is not complete and the action is not executed.
- Take the same business sample from before and after the database configuration change. Compare the query results. If the fields match, the change did not affect that sample. If they do not match, the difference is recorded and the cause remains unknown until further evidence is supplied.
