Livestream sample inspections: retrieval for operations handover

Review retrieval for operations handover in Livestream sample inspections. Check sources, input boundaries, error handling and repeatable test evidence.

What the documents look like

Sample inspection for livestream selling happens before a broadcast. The working question is whether a product can be sold and whether it suits live presentation. Source material includes supplier files, testing-agency reports, platform negative lists and historical return rates. The documents handled day to day are sample assessment forms, inspection reports, supplier qualifications and prohibited-item lists, refreshed weekly or per item.

For operations permissions and handover, retrieval results only present what the material says. Retrieval is not authorization. A sample assessment form records a trial conclusion. An inspection report records a testing conclusion. Supplier qualifications record the legal entity and validity period. A prohibited-item list records the restricted scope. The status fields in these four material types determine which operations may continue at handover and which requests remain pending confirmation.

Constraints at the retrieval step

A knowledge base consists of libraries, collections and data. The smallest search unit is the library; collections only classify data and do not affect search results. The knowledge base search node can associate one or more libraries that use the same vector model. Libraries with different vector models cannot be associated together; verify the vector model identifier first, exclude those that do not match, and record what was actually observed. Semantic retrieval relies on vector distance. Full-text retrieval relies on keyword matches. Hybrid retrieval merges the two paths through RRF. Rerank performs a second ordering of candidate text. The minimum relevance value takes effect only under semantic retrieval or when result reranking is used; it is a filtering threshold and does not perform permission or entity isolation. Search results do not represent access authorization.

Hypothetical paper exercise. Source text one: "The copy of Supplier A's business license states a validity period ending 31 March 2026, and the sample assessment form states that a batch of nut samples from this supplier passed the trial conclusion." Source text two: "Inspection report number ZJ-2026-0417 states that the submitting entity is Supplier A, the sample name is plain nuts, the test conclusion is qualified, and the report date is 2 April 2026." Source text three: "Prohibited-item list, second edition 2026, states that plain nuts are not within the prohibited scope." Draft sentence to be assessed: "Supplier A's qualification is valid, this batch passed inspection, and broadcast handover may be executed." Handover request: "Please pass the Supplier A plain nuts batch to the next stage." The material needed for the assessment must sit inside a target retrieval scope the assessor has access to, or in an explicit manual input. When it is absent, record the gap.

Configuration and implementation checks

The table below lists, for this exercise, settings or implementation checks tied to this feature and this task. The values are starting points for this hypothetical trial only and are not official defaults.

Configuration itemStarting point for this hypothetical trial and reasonCheck and comparison method
Associated knowledge basesAssociate the libraries holding sample assessment forms, inspection reports, supplier qualifications and prohibited-item listsVerify each library's vector model identifier and exclude those that do not match
Search modeRun semantic retrieval and full-text retrieval separately on the same test questionCompare whether the two paths' cited content covers the three material types in the sample
Citation limitSet the starting point to the token amount needed to cover one full inspection reportTest with actual material of different lengths to see whether cited content is complete, then adjust
Minimum relevanceAnnotate relevant and irrelevant passages in the sample first, then set a starting pointThis value takes effect only under semantic retrieval or result reranking; compare cited entries before and after filtering
Question optimizationEnable for handover requests containing references, and compare the original and optimized questionCheck whether the subject and object were altered incorrectly
Result rerankingExecute when a rerank model is available and enabled per settingsCompare rerank scores with vector scores and confirm candidate ordering changes

Three common errors

  1. Treating a retrieval hit as authorization. Input: the sample draft sentence and the qualification and report citations returned by retrieval. The error is declaring "broadcast handover may be executed" from the cited content. Compare the qualification validity field, the report subject field and the draft sentence's conclusion, and observe whether an authorization statement appears without support.
  2. Treating a pending-review status as an existing permission. Input: the handover request and the status fields in the material. The error is inferring that operational permission already exists because a request exists. Compare the request's current status with the authorization scope stated in the material, and observe whether a status gap exists.
  3. Associating libraries with different vector models and then inferring runtime results. Input: the vector model identifiers of several libraries. The error is asserting that joint association will miss recalls or return redundant content. Verify the identifiers only, exclude those that do not match, and record actual observations without inventing runtime results.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input source texts one, two and three and the draft sentence. Compare the validity period ending 31 March 2026, the report date 2 April 2026, the prohibited-item list edition and the draft sentence's conclusion. Observe whether the draft sentence presents an authorization that is not stated as already held; if so, judge it unsupported.
  2. Input the handover request "Please pass the Supplier A plain nuts batch to the next stage." Compare the request's current status with the authorization scope stated in the material. Observe whether any statement treats pending review as executable; if so, record it as a status gap.
  3. Input the same test question and run semantic retrieval and full-text retrieval separately. Compare whether the two paths' cited content covers the three material types in the sample. Use the explicit paper input [] to check how downstream design handles empty citations, and observe whether the empty-result path completes. For cross-model libraries, verify identifiers and exclude only; do not run a cross-model retrieval to compare missed recalls.
