Fruit-store procurement: citation tracing for staff training

Review citation tracing for staff training in Fruit-store procurement. Check document scope, failure paths and source evidence through controlled tests.

What the documents look like

Fruit-store procurement runs on wholesale-market pricing and grade-based receiving, which sets it apart from convenience-store ordering built around head-office standard meals. The daily document set is a purchase order, a receiving record, a pesticide-residue test report, and a loss record, refreshed daily or per batch. In store service and internal training, citation tracing means that a training statement citing a receiving conclusion for a delivery must lead back to the receiving record itself, and a statement citing a test conclusion must lead back to the report for that batch. Report timeliness bears directly on citation validity, so two test reports from the same supplier covering different batches cannot stand in for each other.

Constraints at the citation tracing step

The knowledge-base search node can associate one or more knowledge bases that share the same vector model, and it outputs citations as an array whose length may be zero. An empty array still lets that output path run through; it does not mean the workflow errored out and stopped. Retrieval output must pass to the answering step, where each answer is checked line by line against the cited source text. The minimum relevance value is a filter threshold that takes effect only in semantic search or when result reranking is used, and it carries no permission or entity-isolation function. The same-vector-model requirement for associated knowledge bases does not extend to external systems needing the same model. RRF is the fusion step for mixed retrieval results, an existing behavior rather than a switch that gets turned on. Image retrieval requires image input and model capability, reranking requires a configured model and is enabled per settings, and the optional paths drawn in the overall flow diagram do not mean every request executes all of them.

Hypothetical drill sample: the source text to check against reads — "On 12 March 2025, purchase order CG-0312 states: 80 boxes of Red Fuji apples, supplier Stall A, receiving grade first class. The same day, receiving record YS-0312 notes: 78 boxes actually received, 2 boxes crush-damaged, conclusion downgrade handling. The 10 March 2025 pesticide-residue test report JC-0310 covers the Red Fuji apple batch from Stall A, conclusion pass." A draft sentence to be judged reads: "Stall A Red Fuji apples passed testing, and the 12 March 2025 delivery was received entirely as first class." The draft merges the test report conclusion with the receiving record's downgrade conclusion into one fact, and "received entirely as first class" conflicts with the receiving record's downgrade handling.

Configuration and implementation checks

Configuration itemHypothetical trial starting pointReason and comparison method
Associated knowledge basesSelect the store procurement training baseCheck the selected knowledge bases and material versions, and confirm vector-model identifiers match before associating them together
Search modeMixed retrievalTraining material carries both batch numbers and natural-language description, so mixed retrieval covers both query types
Minimum relevanceHypothetical starting value 0.3Compare against current citation content item by item, observe whether low-relevance fragments are filtered, then decide the direction of adjustment
Citation limitHypothetical starting value 2000 tokensCompare against the length of a single receiving record or test report, and confirm the citation covers the fields needed for the judgment
Result rerankingEnabled per settingsConfirm a rerank model is configured, and compare candidate ordering before and after reranking
Citation content outputCarries the citation arrayCheck that retrieval output passes to the answering step, and compare each answer line against the cited source text

Three common errors

  1. Treating a pesticide-residue test report's pass conclusion as equivalent to a passed receiving grade. The test report covers a specific batch, while the receiving record documents the actual state of the delivery; the subjects, objects, and fields differ. To check, input the test report and receiving record source text, compare whether the tested batch and the received batch are the same, and observe whether the conclusion fields point to the same fact.
  2. Treating minimum relevance as a permission filter. That value only filters low-relevance results and does not exclude unrelated businesses or unauthorized records. To check, input a query unrelated to the training material, compare how closely returned citation content relates to the query topic, and observe whether any permission-related unexpected result appears.
  3. Treating an empty retrieval output array as a workflow failure. The citation array length may be zero, and an empty array still runs through the output path. To check, use a paper input of an empty array to verify the downstream design, compare whether the downstream node accepts it normally, and observe whether any error termination appears.

How to verify the setup

  1. Input the receiving record YS-0312 and test report JC-0310 source text from the hypothetical sample above, and compare the draft sentence "received entirely as first class" against the receiving record's "downgrade handling" field. If the returned citation content contains the receiving record source text and the draft sentence is flagged as inconsistent with the source, the check condition is met. If the citation content contains only the test report, record it as an evidence gap.
  2. Input purchase order CG-0312 from the hypothetical sample above, and compare whether the citation content covers the four fields of supplier, item name, quantity, and receiving grade. If the returned citation fully contains these four fields, the check condition is met; if any field is missing, record the missing item. First-hit or full recall is not guaranteed.
  3. Input a query unrelated to store procurement training, and compare how closely returned citation content relates to the query topic. If the returned citation content is unrelated to the query topic and was not filtered by minimum relevance, record it as pending verification; if an empty array is returned, use a paper input of an empty array to verify the downstream acceptance design, and do not claim that a fictional-rule retrieval necessarily returns an empty array.

This page covers only fruit-store procurement / store service and internal training / citation tracing. Handover of materials, operations, or requests between staff does not settle what authorization state they are in, and retrieval or forms cannot be treated as authorization execution. The same-vector-model requirement applies to associated knowledge bases and does not extend to business-registration sites or other external systems. No system error or automatic business action is asserted where the source text does not describe one.
